I honestly can't think of an actor who'd be able to play both Norman and Green Goblin as well as Willem Dafoe. He cemented himself as the perfect version of the character in my opinion.

It’s almost like rdj for iron man, hemsworth for Thor, mark hamills voice or health ledger for joker. These people are literally comic book characters in real life. Like that smile is green goblin it’s not William dafoe. It’s mohfuckin green goblin. Just watched and omg the big smile on his face while seeing Tom enraged at him punching the shit out of him. Classic goblin literally perfect and his few scenes stole the show.

The weight of what Tom’s Peter has been through at this point is insane. He lost his first father figure (Ben), experienced his own death in the arms of his second father figure (the snap), returned only to watch his second father figure (Tony) die in front of him, was deeply manipulated by Mysterio leading to his life and everyone he loves lives being ruined, Aunt May dies in his arms because he tried to fix his mistakes, and now nobody on earth knows he exists. He has no family, no friends, nobody to talk to, no relationships of any form with anyone. The closest bond he has is with the random people he’s talked to on the streets. He’s lost literally everything and is more alone than anyone else on earth. And he’s only 18.

So even though he captured our attention right away by taking Cap's shield, went to space with the Avengers, & passed around the Infinity Gauntlet, he was still a kid. In MCU he had his suit made for him he was playing sidekick when he's suppose to be a stand alone hero like Tony he made his suits & webbing by himself in the comics. This will give Tom's Peter the chance to become the Spiderman in the comics I hate that he lost his aunt now he's completely alone even in the comics he wasn't really alone he had his aunt & MJ. Tom didn't mature fast. He had 5 movies before NWH where he developed even if he was just a supporting actor in some but still we see his growth and development. He matures as the movies go on. We have his fun and goofy side in Civil War where we first saw him. Civil War was his introduction an a great prologue to his story. He matured in NWH when vulture gave him a beating. Learned how to cooperate as a team in Infinity War and at the same movie, suffered in the end when he got snapped. Brought back again in Endgame only for him to suffer again w/ his mentor's death. Far From Home taught him about trust and that it would lead to major consequences which eventually resulted to everything that happened in No Way Home.

Perfect timing guys! This film is so great. We are back to page 1 for Tom Holland's Spider-Man. I'm absolutely stoked for the direction they're taking him. No Avengers. No Stark. No friends. No family. Nothing. The comedy was great. The fights were fantastic. The sad moments made me cry 100%. I'm just so blown away they did the things they did and got away with it. i've seen people complaining about aunt may's wording of the "with great power must also come great responsibility" line but in the original comics, those are stan lee's exact words in the bubble during uncle ben's death. it was placed there for a reason, that's his cameo in this movie and I loved it.
@marciasilva549
@marciasilva549 2 года назад
SPOILERS This entire trilogy was Tom Holland's Spider-Man's origin story and in a way, we're way more emotionally invested in his portrayal than the other two because what the others did in a single movie with Uncle Ben's death and the need for revenge, this version did in three. We grew attached to Peter and they built him up to such a position of power with the Avengers and winning epic battles, to then use his experience and strip him of all that he's been reliant on. I'd even go as far as saying Aunt May's death was sadder than Uncle Bens' because they took their time. I have a question. People like Nick Fury, Captain Marvel and the Skrulls, who know Peter and are off-world at the time all of it happens; if I'm not mistaken, Dr. Strange's spell is earth based. Will it still have affected all those characters? Also, when Andrew saves MJ, notice that he didn't web her. He dove and caught her in his arms and then shot a web to catch them both. He learned from Gwen's death.

I hope we can finally stop perpetuating this terrible myth about movies with “too many villains”. That wasn’t why Spider-Man 3 was a letdown or disappointment. It’s not about that and it never was.
@my5head
@my5head 2 года назад
I'll disagree with that. This movie had alot of villains, but they were each connected in the story. It wasn't 5 separate villains, it was one group of 5 villains. Spider-Man 3 had three separate villains. He had to come to terms with his uncle's murderer, deal with his broken friendship, battle his inner demons, and finally entered conflict with his rival photographer/rejected symbiote. So really, it can be seen as four villains, with himself being the fourth.
@lunazen8661
@lunazen8661 2 года назад
That's a drastic comparison tho considering that the audience already knew who these villains were as their origin/stories were introduced in prior Spider man movies, so them being there wasn't jarring at all. The issues is when you introduced for example 3-5 completely new villains who we (the audience) had no prior knowledge of in a singular movie condensed into 2 and half hour runtime. That's jarring and very hard to execute. No way Home is an example as to why Endgame worked. Every Avenger had their own movie which is why that massive ensemble worked. We knew and were familiar with the characters.

@IffyWilliams
@IffyWilliams 2 года назад
I had a theory immediately after watching this that it could have sort of a ripple effect especially seeing as the multiverse is in straight up shambles in DS2 M.O.M, I suspect the Sony-verses are gonna be somewhat merged and interconnected with each other which makes sense given that both Venom and Mobius take place in the same universe which seems to be a weird mash of the Raimi/Webb-verses.

@samyordan5024
@samyordan5024 2 года назад
mk4 is from the comic books. the game is merely adapting it :) but yeah this move takes a lot from ps4 game. not doing references, but taking from it. the biggest one they 'steal' is may's quote: when you help someone, you help everyone. NWH's may never said it but that quote is written on her grave. meanwhile PS4's aunt may did say it, in which peter repeats it to miles through phone call dialogue (appears while swinging) otto also upgrades the spidey suit, just like in ps4, albeit not entirely. people may not like what i point out, but it wont change the facts (that)

It truly feels like that. I couldn't be more excited! He's still the spiderman other heroes know but not the peter parker they got introduced too.

In my opinion that's a risky gamble that was absolutely worth it, drawing out the origin story into 3 films instead of 1. It made us more attached to the characters, made everything that happened so much more impactful. Going into the new trilogy is going to be both painful when considering all that was lost and wonderful considering all that can happen.

I just finished watching the movie and loved it! I had to immediately come and hear your guys’ thoughts. There was so many times I had audibly gasped from the beginning of the movie until the last end credits scene. If this is an indicator for this new phase, I’m so excited!

Awesome review, guys! NWH is such a heartfelt, emotional and wholesome Spidey movie. Watched it twice already and will definitely watch it again soon.
