@@beatriztorres4458 I mean the title fits Sam and Raider but when you get down to the lyrics it definitely fits Raider and Armstrong some of the lyrics are even things Armstrong says to Raiden
@@Wildcard-Jack-47 yeah which are more or less the exact same words he tried on Sam. Sam literally had the same ideology as Raiden the differences being their mindsets and Sam losing to Armstrong. It's why Sam was basically trying to teach Raiden a lesson throughout the game and fought him in the end, he realized that Raiden was the Sam before his loss to Armstrong, why towards the end he started to doubt if he was even in the right. That's how I saw it when I played the game, but i always found it fitting that everytime Raiden loses Sam's sword, the lyrics of the song stop playing completely and will only start up again if you get Sam's sword back, that's very telling right there in my opinion.
@@Wildcard-Jack-47 i don't know why, but your comment isn't fully popping up, maybe it's my phone don't know. But seriously!? They say that? Nah, i have to check real quick, it's been awhile.
@@Wildcard-Jack-47 hmm yeah he does say something about Jack carving his own path but i honestly don't understand why he thought Jack would be his successor when Jack thought Armstrong was basically batshit insane?
The ost fits very well with this fight. From the context that I could get,it speaks from Peter's perspective about Doc. They were the same but one is driven by the path he carved and the other followed his wrath with the wasted lands being what's left from their dreams.
Huh, someone liked this 1-month old comment at the same time I did. I think it's funny how we were both looking at the same thing at nearly the same time.😄
" You should be on MY side!" " I was!" Lyrics Standing here I realise you were just like me trying to make history but whose to judge the right from wrong?
When our guard is down, I think we'll both agree, that violence breeds violence, but in the end it has to be this way I've carved my own path You followed your wrath, but maybe we're both the same The world has turned, so many have burned But nobody is to blame, yet staring across, this barren, wasted land, I feel new life will be born, BENEATH THE BLOOD STAINED SAND! BENEATH THE BLOOD, STAINED SAND!
This song is perfect for every final boss battle or just any final battle like Senator Armstrong, here we have Dock Ock, hell it could work in the final boss battles in games like Prototype, Dead Space, Batman Arkham Asylum, the final battle in Black Ops 2, and just overall awesome.
"Standing here, I realise, that you're just like me, trying to make history." They both were tryna change the world, make it into the history books, "But who's to judge, the right from wrong?" They both have COMPLETELY different views, neither know what's really right nor wrong, "And when our guard is down I think we'll both agree: violence breeds violence." They both know one has to loose, they can't stop fighting.
"I carved my own path; you followed your wrath, but maybe we're both the same." Both Peter and Otto were at a crossroads. Peter when he fought Mr. Negative and Otto when he first began to wear his arms. While Otto chose to give in to his rage, Peter resisted and continued to look to the light and try to do the right thing. "The world has turned and so many have burned, but nobody is to blame." Many have died as a consequence of both of their actions, but they were both doing what they thought was right in the end. "Staring across this barren wasted land, I feel new life will be born beneath the bloodstained sand." Despite everything that has happened, Peter is still willing to look to the light and believe that there is still hope and will continue fighting for a just cause.
This fight was awesome, but I think we can all agree that Doctor Octopus would realistically be left with, at minimum, a brutal concussion and/or fracture every time Spiderman hits him. He is fully human aside from his extra arms.
maybe that suit had an armor under it, as far as I know the tentacles use nanomachine technology, it would make sense to the suit made for it had some protection, not sure about his face tough
Words cannot _describe_ how fitting this song is for this game. They want to make history by using science to help people. Now Otto has become his enemy, and Peter knew it had to end this way, and he doesn't like it.
I like how when Peter actually gets pissed off and allows himself to use more of his strength, he's literally capable of ripping apart the octo-arms no problem
He can literally lift cars, I'm pretty sure if he wanted to he could kill someone in just a few punches, but instead holds back without letting out his full power cause he doesn't like the idea of killing, so when he's angry he's letting out more power than he typically lets out.
I am aware, hence I pointed out him letting loose in anger. In the comics when doc Oc’s mind possessed peters body, he killed scorpion in one punch and sent his jaw literally flying.
It fits in with the conflict that was bred during this fight. Spider-Man did, in fact, carve his own path, while Octavius followed his wrath. Plus, the soundtrack is badass.
"Standing here, I realize you were Just like me trying to make history. But who's to judge the right from wrong. When our guard is down I think we'll both agree. That violence breeds violence. But in the end it has to be this way. I've curved my own path, you've followed your wrath; But maybe we're both the same. The world has turned, and so many have burned. But nobody is to blame. It's tearing across this barren wasted land. I feel new life could be born beneath The blood stained sand." It amazes me how the Lyrics fits these 2.
This was fantastic. The very subtle volume increase after 3 minutes suggesting the lyrics were coming had me on edge and it was glorious when they hit. Thank you.
credit where credit is definetley due: i've never heard anyone mix different versions of the same track (in this case, w/ and w.o/ lyrics) quite as smoothly as this, not to forget the delayed outro, which fits really nicely! edit:also the really nice touch of muting the IG audio at the very end
(My interpretation) Standing here, I realise You were just like me Trying to make history Otto and Peter both wanted to help people in the beginning, and even now Otto is doing so, but in his own twisted way, they are both trying to "make history". Peter by saving the weak and Otto by murdering a corrupt mayor (while killing the entirety of New York). But who's to judge, the right from wrong? When our guard is down I think we'll both agree: That violence breeds violence. The first line is about how even if Otto is on the "bad" side, his motives are just. In killing Norman, he will get revenge for himself, even if he is doing the wrong thing, a perfect example of an Anti-Villain. (For the second and third line, I honestly don't know what to take from it, even in the context of MGR) But in the end it has to be this way! This is talking about how, even if Peter would like to help Otto and show mercy, he can't. This duel was fated. I carved my own path, you followed your wrath But maybe we're both the same? Peter agreed that Norman needs to be punished, but went about it in a legal way, he "carved his own path". Otto went all in with violence, he "followed his wrath". The second line says that even still, they both have the same goal, to bring justice and help others. The world has turned, and so many have burned. Yet nobody is to blame The world turning refers to the plague, the people burning refers to the victims. And yet, who really caused it? Otto, for using the weapon, or Oscorp, for creating it illegally right in the middle of the city? But staring across this barren wasted land, I feel new life will be born Beneath the blood-stained sand! Peter looks to the city, all the sick people, all the escaped prisoners. He sees all this destruction but knows, without a doubt, that the city will recover, as it always has. He keeps his hope, as when a hero loses hope, what do the people have left? (most of this is far-fetched)
Such a fantastic edit! I can't believe I didn't find it sooner. The dimming and rising of the music during dialog and the lack of lyrics during certain scenes. Just as it is in MGR. There was clearly some love put into this. The song also works for these two characters along with Raiden and Armstrong. One followed wrath, and the other simply carved their own path for the greater good. Simply amazing. Well done.
The weird thing about this fight is if you use a bunch of web he is very easy but if you don't use that and just fight him head on he can be kind of challenging, he even has some quick time events that keep you on your toes. Maybe if they made some of the webs not work he could have been really interesting.
I feel like for the first part of the boss fight it should have been the instrumental and then in the second part the lyrics kick in just as Pete and Otto are staring each other down before the final phase starts
" Well done ... Peter " . " This ends right here doc . You must understand that there are other ways to make up for the past " . " Maybe yes ... maybe no . You have guaranteed that the world order will persevere ... at least for a while . Crime will continue on as an institution . Men will continue to kill for the lies they are fed , causes they don't believe in . But at least ... at least I will leave a worthy successor ... You , Peter " . " Enough dammit ! Even now you still remain oblivious to what has happened ? Everything you have caused just to follow your wrath and take vengeance against Osborn ? " . " Perhaps Peter . But you ... you've carved your own path , use your own methods to serve the justice system you believe into ... And if it costs you your life ... so be it ... " . ( Peter gets the antiserum ) . " Doesn't matter to me . So many people are gone ... people I loved and cherished ... I would gladly trade my life for theirs . " " I ... wasn't wrong then ... about you . Deep inside , we are ... kindred spirits Peter ... you ... and I . "
I can't stop picturing Armstrong and Otto demonstration one another's tech to each other. Otto showing off his inhibitor chip and Armstrong showing off his Nanomachines
Standing here... I realize that you're just like me, trying to make history! But who's to judge... 'twixt right and wrong? When our guard is down, I think we'd both agree that violence breeds violence! But in the end, it has to be this way! I carved my own path! You followed your wrath! But maybe we're both the same? The world has turned! So many have burned! But nobody is to blame! Yet staring across this barren waste of land, I feel new life could be born beneath the bloodstained sand! Beneath the bloodstained sand!
Standing here, I realize there's no right, no wrong! Everyone sings their song! The sun will rise... without us... With our lives at stake, I'd say we both agree... that hatred breeds hatred! But in the end, it has to be this way! I carved my own path! You followed your wrath! It seems that we're both the same! The world has turned! So many have burned! It's past time we took the blame! And staring across this barren, wasted land, I know new life will be born beneath the bloodstained sand! Beneath the bloodstained sand!
Standing here, we've realized there's no right, no wrong! Only our history! So who should judge... what we have done? With the dust settled, what will the future see when hatred bred violence and it just did not have to be that way? We followed our path! We've tempered our wrath! And now we are both the same! The world has turned! So many have burned! So now let's play a new game! Now staring across this verdant, fertile land, I see new life has been born out from the bloodstained sand! Out from the bloodstained sand!
