I’m so glad Fake Red is somewhat getting attention again and according to the author on Twitter he’s returning to another Spider-Man manga, I don’t know if it’s a continuation of Fake Red though. Either way let’s hope Yusuke Osawa gets the attention he deserves.
I definitely hadn't heard the moral 'Anyone can be Spider-Man!' time and time again. Really devalues the importance of who's behind the mask, if that's really true. Not sure it really is.
If anime gets bigger in us I def see Disney making anime adapting comics considering Star Wars had a episode that had a episode that look like Japanese anime
If you were talking about the upcoming series, then it does not just look like, it was made by Japanese Studio Trigger, who was famous for many hits like Kill la Kill, Darling in the FranXX and SSSS.Gridman.
Too bad it was cancelled so soon 😢 I do wish it was actually about Peter Parker though, but they made the direction they took work really well nonetheless
i think it was a good move to not make him peter parker, because the entire series would be out of character, this spider man is his own character and fight in his own way
He's a og Miles Morales type character, he's a spiderman but not a Peter Parker, and he's Japanese, truly a unique spiderman, I hope he gets a cameo on the upcoming spiderverse movie alongside Peni Parker, I bet their interactions would be interesting considering they are in essence Japanese version of Spiderman, except the other version is literally anime
@@traphimawari7760 I can Imagine Yu Komori being the most depressed out of all Spiders , if someone read the whole manga or at least saw some summaries on RU-vid you know what happens and what he does
I love the interpretation of "great power comes great responsiblity" in the manga; rather than having to do something because you are able to, it discusses how do humanity keep themselves in check and the age-old question of "are we simply animals with a higher intelligence?"
Spider-Man would be a good Anime Series. So long as they keep with the Themes & Pete's Backstory but they could also do their own thing and have Spidey fight a Freakin Kiju or a Oni version of the Green Goblin or a Yakuza version of Wilson Fisk.
When I heard Japanese Spider-Man, The first thing that crosses my mind isn't new powers or storylines, It's how miserable they could make him as, since he is the Everyman of superheroes, and from what I know of Japan, it'd kinda miserable living there
I think that would be the cultural aspect of tweaking Spider-Man’s character to fit the eastern audience. The Japanese show Supaidāman was actually very fun and comedic with cool monsters and quirky action and dialogue. Even Steve Lee said that he loved the Japanese version so much and wished Supaidāman would be a part of the MCU one day. I think it’s just the manga writers who wanted to write a different perspective of spiderman. And I’m sure anywhere is miserable to live at depending on your social status and whatnot. Take account of basing one’s cultural/regional expectations to a different place.
@@BronzeAgeMan1350 Tip: You probably shouldn't, unless you're confident you can get away without having a job. The work culture there is toxic, so much so that many people literally die at work. Alternatively, it becomes too much for them, and they take their own lives. It's pretty much the same when it comes to school, too, though that's primarily toxic due to the amount of bullying that goes on, as well as the extreme methods of bullying commonly found. Japan is also incredibly cold to foreigners. Expect much of this to be a little bit worse than it is for locals. All in all: don't live there. Visiting is okay, but for your sake, don't live there.
@@Samevi Im still sad over the guy who dressed as joker and killed ppl on the train so that he could get some kinda death penalty, all because work had stressed him out and he "was too scared to take his own life" Like bruh that SUCKS. 🤧 Not just for him but especially the ppl he hurt that day. Therepy is really a god send. And mental health is super important. Not to mention the steady decline of the population because nobody is fuckin (lets call a spade a spade here). They even have love hotels but the pop still drops because ppl seem to be too busy to use em.
They could bring it back with the protagonist moving back to Japan and becoming an Spider-Man there, Red Spider or something. BTW, if he only got the suit, how was he able to be Spider-Man without the powers?
Back in the late 90s, there was a manga shop in my hometown. The shop is part cafe part library part bookshop. Kids get to sit in the shop and read mangas all day. There were free manga reading sections where the mangas there are put there by the owner and can be read for free; there was a section where mangas that were still ongoing at the time and we had to pay member fees to access them. Japanese Spider-Man manga was in the free section. I remember reading them with my buddies and were confused by how different it was compared to the Saturday morning Spider-Man cartoon.
Fake Red definitely needs to get an adaptation! But I wouldn't mind an anime based on Peter himself. Maybe incorporate some harem elements given Spidey's reputation on being an American Harem protagonist lmao.
Damnn man, the symbolism in this manga is just... magnificent. Its not just illustrations of actions, it expresses something, its pure Art. I hope this adaptation is turned into an Anime one day
i really like this video, it was extremely entertaining. I just wish your editing wasn't so fast so i could see the panels and the quotes from artists you put up on the screen, i found myself rewinding the video and pausing to see what was going on because i couldn't keep up. I mean this in the nicest way possible because this is honestly a good video. Good job, well done. Cheers
I gotta say, I'd like them to take the Kamen Rider approach with Spider-Man. By that I mean to take "Anyone can be Spider-Man" and have different people be Spider-Man, not just focus on different versions of Peter Parker. Miles Morales and Miguel O' Hara for example enablee the idea of a Legacy of Spider-Men, passing the torch to the next era's Spidey. Kamen Rider did so ever since the idea of a Kamen Rider 2, V3, X etc... Different characters, different stories, while also keeping some key similarities when it comes to powers, villains etc. From one Spidey to the next and one after and so on...
Just binged all of your content and so far I'm really enjoying it! Love your choice of mostly untalked about subjects and your presentation. Hope to see more from you and watch this channel grow!
Just went though your entire video discography as I gotta say I’m in love with your channel. As a dewb who is constantly recommending obscure manga to their friends (who knows they will never read them) their is something so satisfying about your channel idk.
I'm curious how Spiderman's suit in the manga Fake red looks so close to Spiderman's MCU suits at least some parts of it did MCU also dig up these old spiderman manga for inspiration 🤔 very interesting
Not gonna lie. Between voice acting and being a sentai actor. I’d have loved to do either or; because of the over the top fun the actors seem to be having. Like as corny as it is. There’s something super badass about a dude jojo posing over your enemies corpses before they even know they’re a corpse.
Fake Red is a great read, reason why it didn't sell well because you can't have another Spider-Man without powers and a somewhat torch pass o, you can build a great story around a person trying to do good and be like Spider-Man, but it's not the same having a Miles Morales or any powered Spider-Man, but it does have a great story, it's kinda reference as well on the PS Spider-Man game where one guy dresses up as Spider-Man and helps people and gets free hotdogs.
I feel like the general theme and arc of Spiderman/Peter Parker actually works well with Japanese culture. From potential villains being based on Japanese mythology to commentary on some obviously shady cultural issues, a Spiderman manga could be as great as the Spiderman 2 film. If it got picked up and someone really ran away with it, leaning towards that aspect, it could be something super awesome.
@@aditghifari5039 Leopardon existed before Super sentai, super sentai existed way before Power rangers. So no Spider-Man (Supaidaman) does not become “power rangers”. Japanese Spider-Man is the reason why Super sentai and power rangers exist. Put some respect in Supaidaman.
Yu's canon event must have been accidentally getting his world's versions of Electro and Lizard killed which taught him the classic lesson "with great power comes great responsibility" and that his girlfriend dies which I suppose really cements him as a Spider-Man since they do be tragic like that.
2:45 i like this! This is make sense, because it was a new power for him of course he can't control it not like all spiderman film by marvel somehow all spiderman can control they power, but yes there is a scene struggling about spider web but there isn't a scene when spiderman can't control his punch power, because spiderman is soo strong he should can punch a hole to people body
The Marvel Mangaverse has got to be my personal favorite although I haven't seen the whole series just parts of it and to tell the truth if they ever decide to make a Marvel Anime series then they should definitely use the Mangaverse comics for the story.
That sure was terrible that was the worst Spider-Man I have ever seen it look like crap and the suit wasn’t even remotely close to any Spider-Man costume I have ever seen and the web shooters weren’t even webshooters or they didn’t even look like them
The suit in Spider-Man Fake Red looks like a mix of the Spider-man PS4 suit because of the mask and the Far From Home suit because of the spider emblem.
