Release video for the new ART SpiderJack 3. More details coming soon. Many thanks to Hubert Kowalewski for design and inspiration, Kiah Martin for the voiceover and direction, and Barton Allen-Hall for climbing and demonstrating.
This device rocks art makes some great products i used to climb with a lockjack and i loved that device and still do but the spiderjack 3 is just absolute perfection for double rope
Looks awesome tbh, i climb on a hitch climber drt and a roperunner srt and the hitch climber is an awesome but of kit but if im gonna switch to a mechanical for drt then id probably choose this

+IntoTrees I feel great ! It's winter time for us in France, today is the first day below 0° Celsius here, but I dont feel cold... I'm climbing trees ! Happy new year !
Shame it's not the Lockjack that's been updated. After my Spiderjack stopped locking after each step with a foot ascender, I've never been interested in it. Once i switched to the Lockjack, it was miles better, great with a Rope Wrench too. If a pulley could have be incorporated into its design then it would be the perfect climbing device.
+Myrkskog - This one certainly works better than the last with the foot ascender, but with both it's just a question of getting your weight out of the foot ascender and fully into the device and it will lock completely - takes a bit of practice but I normally use mine with a foot ascender and it's no problem at all.
I appreciate what you're saying, but compared to the LJ, Zigzag or a decent hitch climber set up, I don't have to consciously engage them to bite. I even went through the hassle of changing all the parts on the SJ to see if the non-locking behaviour could be remedied, had all the other climbers give it a go, but it soon ended up being packed up and forgotten about in favour of superior equipment.
What rope are you using or recommend I found with the 2.1 the poison ivy seemed to wear the cams out quicker than some softer ropes like the fly, but the fly was not a hard wearing rope. Just looking for some advice
where can i find the ropeguie he installs from ground or is it a case of finding compatible rope or changing cam on current rope guide? or will it be available
I still use prussiks and blakes hitches lol !! I am going to get a spiderjack and wondered which one would you advise , ive heard a few people say the 2.1 is still better and easier to use than the 3 ?
is there a preferred rope to use with spider jack 3? i have samson true blue and it gets stuck. slack needs to be tended. and i have a brand new samson brw that often does not catch catch right away. i am not holding the running part of line or any part of line. is there an adjustment that needs to be made?
I really like to devise the only problem I have for a guy like me that does 8 to 12 climbs day this device takes too long to set up by the time I set this device up I'm ready up the tree and working on it Otherwise is a great device for someone that wants to climb up a tree twice A-day
I just bought spider jack has 10 year warranty on it and when I was changing crutch for right size for my rope sqrew needed tight up and when I was tightening up by finger its snapped so easy and broke I just paid for this $515 10 year warranty where can i get fixed please let me know 😢 this is so expensive but sqrew got snapped so easily please help
+IntoTrees Hi joe, fine merci.Pour translation do with the French community with you (the French are symphas). Hope to read you and see you in a future video.
Stop the Philosophical Zombies depends on what level you go to. A basic setup can cost you from 500 to 1000 but I mean absolute basic employed with someone else. Also training gonna cost you a couple of thousand. Then if you wanna run your own tree crew it’s a whole other set of prices. You’ll feel like your bills are neverending, because they aren’t. Things break, you have to buy tools to maintain the other tools, it’s just an ENDLESS cycle of money going into it. Be prepared to be very very careful with your budget.
