Just a reminder to your Australian viewers, make sure you rotate the spinclean the opposite way, three times anticlockwise, three times clockwise.

Haha, you had me going there for a minute. The idea of using speakers to convert a Spinclean into an ultrasonic cleaner is a good one. Nice channel!

Hey Thanks Average Joe Vinyl. Yeah just having a little fun with this hobby mixed in with my regular routine of record cleaning. I appreciate the comment. Sub also appreciated and reciprocated. 🍻 🤘🎶🤘

I think he got a LOT of us with that one. I can imagine if they all were like me that actually have and use the Spin Clean system just the title alone made us perk up. Always good to have a good laugh even at our expense.

I'm very much the opposite, scratches and dirt are easier to see on black Vinyl. Colored Vinyl is more difficult, especially white.
@twangersturntable

I actually agree. My reference was in regards to blemishes, in this case the white vinyl had a black spot which I would've not likely seen on black vinyl. I appreciate you watching and commenting. 👍🤘🎶🤘

No joke, i have about 1500 records and haven’t given them the respect they deserve; That changes today!

I was of similar scenario. I wiped records and used a lint brush etc. But...never too late I say. I'm willing to bet you will see and more importantly hear the difference. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

I’ve been playing records for two decades and never cleaned a single one! I’m finally realizing the damage i’ve done! Better late than never!

Thanks you for confirming what I've always thought. More stuff seems to accumulate on colored vinyl. Loved seeing Nazareth's Razamanaz in the background! I've loved them since the late 70's. RIP Dan McCafferty.

Thank you Rob. I've heard differing opinions, but in my experience I see more issues with off colour vinyl, i.e. not black. Yes Nazareth has been a mainstay in my life for most of my life (I'm north of 55 now) and I like all their albums. Pete Agnew is the only remaining living band member. He still plays, with his son Lee on drums. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘

Ha you got me 😂. I've used a spin clean for many years. I was hoping you discovered that holy grail... ultrasound spin clean. Seriously tho I can add one step, before drying the vinyl fill the spin clean with plain distilled with no solution. This rinse has been good for me for an even quieter background. Just subbed. Greg
@twangersturntable
@twangersturntable Год назад
Hey Greg! Thanks for watching and commenting. I will definitely try that extra rinse step as I do find that as much as I love my spin clean it sometimes doesn't cut it on the older used records I find. Cheers! 🤘🎶🤘 P.S., Subbed you as well Greg. Thanks again.

Hey Twanger just stumbled across your channel that priest reissues looks fantastic and lots of killer albums on the wall! I started with the spin clean and still use it occasionally but have upgraded to an ultrasonic I say whatever works for you giver!

Hey man! Thanks for stopping by my fellow Vinyl Archivist patron! Yeah I had never seen that Priest reissue until this one day. My original back in the day had the plan (some say boring, but I loved it) Rocka~Rolla bottle cap. It actually sounds pretty good...or at least as good as that particular album ever did to me. I've been hearing a lot of strong arguments for the ultrasonic, especially for the previously loved used records, but to this point (and more relevant, my pocket book) I have to stick with my trusty spin-clean. Thanks again Samsquanch67 🤘🎶🤘

I've NEVER received a white record that is purely white, always have marks of other colors sporadically.
@twangersturntable
@twangersturntable 2 года назад
Same. I now have two vinyl which are white and both have blemishes/small spots. I suspect it may actually be a slight discoloration happening during the process of making the vinyl mix, aka wax. Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. 👍

aren't the coloured LP made from a different product?
@twangersturntable
@twangersturntable Год назад
Hey man! All vinyl are made of PVC...so essentially the same. Whether it's red, white or blue, a dye is added to achieve the desired color...though the glow in the dark are substantially worse. The primary difference when the color black is desired, it is a achieved by adding black carbon, the marginal difference being black carbon will strengthen the vinyl, hypothetically making it more durable and last longer. There are people dedicated to this far more than I. So here is a link I refer to (among others...it's good to broaden ones sources). www.discogs.com/digs/collecting/black-vs-color-vinyl/ Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Much appreciated. Cheers! ✌️🤘🎶🤘

You talked about $150 for that. I would never ever cover my records with any solution that comes from the bottle or scrub them no matter how soft it claims to be. That will just leave a film on the record and that is bad. Also that is very harsh for the record. For $300 you can get an ultrasonic cleaner and attachment to it. Only water nothing added. Air dry. 2-5 minutes. If you are on city water and it is clean and filtered you don't need distilled water. Your cleaning you are mixing $100 worth of chemicals there and doing damage. Unfortunately there are 100 different products sold and every single one of them is a scam. Yes new records would benefit on ultrasonic clean. Often there are lot of stuff left behind from the manufacturing process. Often makes a big difference as much as you might hear an instrument that you didn't hear before. I would recommend ultrasonic cleaner and no chemicals. ONLY WATER.
