Superstition and tradition play an important role in many aspects of Thai life, and the ancient ritual of spirit worship is evident throughout the country.
The placing of spirit houses outside businesses, public buildings and private homes is to provide a shelter for the spirits - and daily offerings of flowers, incense and food are made to keep the spirits in good humour.
Southeast Asia correspondent Karen Percy examines a tradition, which has continued to strengthen in modern times despite being practised for hundreds of years.

As far as I know it is called a shrine with the statue of Maha Brhamma or God Pa-Pong in Thai

I think its very educational and shows how other cultures view their different ideas about faith and religion. This video was very educational, so don't judge people just because they have a different idea about God than you, and try to be open minded about other religions.

Interesting 🤔 I personally saw many of these spirit houses myself when I went to Bangkok. They’re everywhere you just have to find them or even stumble upon one by accident.

I would bet that kindness results in kindness, good actions promote more good actions. Sadly, cruel actions and words also encourage more cruel actions and words.

@adalbertomodesusa I am sorry, but you are being completely ignorant of other people's cultures. The truth is, there is no certain truth. So many different cultures believe so many different things, and by ignoring this fact and by disregarding their beliefs you are just insulting them. You may believe that your choice is ultimately the right one, and I cannot say otherwise, but another person's beliefs may very well be the right choice. Respect their beliefs, and they will respect yours. :D

@TheSchamburglar Sorry if MY faith in the only creator of everything, God Almighty, the ONLY Lord and Savior offends you. The truth is, there is a God, and He is the ONLY way out of this mess. Religion is nothing but a trap, that will deceive many, many people. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to heaven, salvation is at your door! I respect your beliefs and religion, but I have to say the truth,and the true is Jesus is the Lord! John, 3:16! God bless you!

@VoiceOpinion I beg to differ, my friend. Jesus IS here and THERE, right now, anytime, and He is available too. The ONLY one that can deliver salvation and freedom from religion and horrible things in this world. Give Him a chance, call upon His holy name, ask Him to reveal Himself for you. Jesus is NOT a fairy tale kid's story! He is REAL. God bless you, and you may find peace with the Lord Almighty!

My neighbours in Thailand have spirit house but our house and neighbour across the street does not. Thank God because I don't believe in those spirit houses plus I'm a Christian. My family are doing great without those spirit houses. I'm the only Christian in the family but the rest are Buddhist.

@grovencunt Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior of this world, makes me think (believe) like that. I'm not a exempt. I'm just a sinner, justified by the sacrifice of the Lord. Everyone, including you, will stand before God one day. We MUST have His righteousness. Do you have it? Do you know what that is? Are you saved? Where are you going to spend eternity? Jesus is the ONLY way, as stated in His word John 14:6 "The WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE". Have a good day, God bless you!

People are looking for gods all over the world, they are so desperate to find answers and peace. But, they are looking to the wrong direction, as there is only one God, the God of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob. The God almighty, the Great I'm, Jehovah, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. He is available any time, anywhere, and you don't need a religion to find Him! Just call out His name, and receive the greatest gift anyone could receive! Jesus is the Lord!
