Oh wow, I was definitely not expecting the Spirit Temple to be all in one video! It's strange seeing Link without a shield for so long. Jay's love of Din's Fire circumventing puzzles is fun to watch. I was seriously worried Jay might die to that first iron knuckle (or at least lose a fairy). It's interesting how Kaepora Gaeboa's dialogue here where he knows Link can time travel sort of implies that he, too, is time traveling. So glad Jay experience the treasure box shop in the best way possible, and with only a slight nudge, too. Oh yeah, so excited for [REDACTED]! (seriously, I'm excited to fund out what game it is) Well, that was an addition to the game I didn't know about and don't feel like I needed to know about. Seriously, the thought process to make those into hookshot targets is just... Why? Oh wow, climbing up the moving walls without even killing the skulltula! Fun thing about those fake doors: you can also take them out with the hammer, instead of a bomb. I really like the little bits of humor with the witch sisters, first with the iron knuckle not having the axe, then with their ending dialogue. And the visual effects in the fight are really cool, too. The actual mechanics of the battle... not so good. When Jay brought up getting the 50 gold skulltula reward, I could practically feel Ariah thinking: "Can we tack on the Nocturne cutscene? Hmm... Okay, sure! Prelude to the Temple of Time, then head over to Kakariko!" Nocturne cutscene is on the lower end of the song cutscenes for me, though I mentally separate out the "learning the song" bit from the tense scene just preceding it. I feel like part of the reason people generally do Shadow before Spirit is because the cutscene here is the biggest hint to go back in time and check out the well as a kid, getting the Lens. So players would generally already be on the path to the Shadow Temple, and it's just right there. Whereas they could have not even been to Gerudo Valley at this point. About that fire medallion outside the Shadow Temple, apparently at one point the medallions were going to be Links magic spells, so obviously that got changed at some point, but they didn't alter that platform texture. I'm not really a superhero person generally, but Spiderman is definitely one of the better ones. I've greatly enjoyed all the not-awful Spiderman media I've experienced (specifying that because I watched Spiderman 3, and nothing could make that movie good).
I never brought up the beta stuff for this game (like the medallions originally being spells) other than something about some of the dungeons that survives in the final area of the game. I definitely knew the doors could be destroyed by the hammer though that had slipped my mind at the time. I definitely learned that because of the randomizer! Thanks for the long comment, these are always great to read! - Ariah
I'd say I like Spider Man in general. My biggest memories are with the 90s animated show and the Sam Raimi films, but I've enjoyed the Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland movies too. He's one of those superheros where his life outside of heroing is just as interesting as his life as a hero. Just wish the writers weren't so hard on him these days.
