The thing I love about PvZ/ZvP is anything fuckin goes. Seriously one of the most innovative match-ups and so unique (like so many different options for both races)
Also, related to your first comment, for area of effect spells like storm and maelstrom, a good unit spread (combined with our micro'ing and sniping efforts) can easily nullify the upper hand that Protoss receives with such tech combinations.
That's why it's very common to see a Zerg player with a control group of Mutas sniping out the High Templars throughout the game. Not in this specific context though, because of the Corsair tech.
how come neither of these players, especially the zerg didn't set up more expansions around the 3-5 o'clock area for more resources? that area seemed unoccupied by anything based on the mini map
so you mean separate the mass muta army you have and expect to have 2-3 groups to get killed by the maelstrom and psionic storm, then send in the 4th or 5th etc group to attack the energy depleted protoss army, right?

As a Zerg playing against a Protoss with high Templars and DA's and archons on late game, how da hell are you supposed to counter that? Mass units won't be able do anything because of maelstrom+storm combo, I'd be frustrated if playing Zerg, what can you do?
Yes.The reason that the zerg can instantly mass produce. and 7~8 stoplurkers can pretty much 2shot your whole archon army. There are many ways to counter anything, even when most of them only have a few options. as long as you have better micro than your oppnent, you can pretty much counter anything IF you had a same sized army.
@dada78641 Problem is guardians get pwnd flat out by corsairs without even resisting. The Devourers were there to acid spore the corsairs so they couldnt shoot down the scourge and prevent them from landing on shuttles/carriers. Storks response is maelstromin the devourers and storming. Obviously he can carry both hight templar and dark archons in the shuttles. Absolutely crazy micro. I was more surprised Stork didnt get guardians at the end, but i guess he couldnt afford the tech.
This zvp is the reason we can't have nice things. There's always going to be that one guy who's like, if I don't lose, then I win. On a slightly sadder note, zvp and pvt vs turtlelords made me quit bw, these are thoroughly not fun. Anyhow, nostalgia made me watch it all so I guess that's that. Ty for uploading these.
Ok I don;t get it, why didn't he put a drone in an overlord when seeing the attack coming? And keep it there to move it to an extractor if he feels he'll lose... in this situation he could even have left the island with some hydras to protect it vs the probes, the main army of stork was trapped...
@RyantheCanuckpirate They always do that if it looks like it might be a draw. The players arent allowed to pause the game so the ref basically pauses to talk to Stork and ask if he wants to draw or if he is going to try to end it soon.
I'm really not a good player or anything, but it seems to me GGPlay could have tried making Guardians to undermine some of Stork's vulnerable expansions, especially in the south. It seems to me a lot of his material was being protected by Photon Cannons only.
No, the point here is harassment. The reason that you can merely lose a couple of Mutas and take out many many HT's throughout the game is because of bad detection, response timing, and unit homogenization/placement, which is actually really hard to manage (harder than micro'ing, as is the case on Zerg's side).
it kinda bugs me that the zerg made so many mistakes and looked like he wasn't being very cost-effective.. there has to be a better way of dealing with all those corsairs and reavers- i think that GGPlay should have made like 4 or 5 devourers mainly for the acid spore splash, enabling the few hydras that wouldn't be under the disruption web to deal more damage and kill off more corsairs and hopefully shuttles, and plant ninja defilers with plage to catch the protoss fleet
@xATrueFanx Your making an argument about overpowered races specifically mentioning splash damage being one of the reasons yet your talking about protoss? If any race had overpowered splash damage in bw it was terran. Tanks were ridiculously strong back then. I say everything in past tense because I stopped playing bw when sc2 came out even though brood war remains the greatest game in the history of man. And protoss were really not overpowered. Otherwise they wouldn't be the least used race.
Don't you think Storku should have made the archons earlier, instead of carriers or at least mix them with carriers? The archon ball seems to be invincible against Z units.
