I couldn't BELIEVE Isara died... The sniper who shot her, I never saw it coming. And when she died, and Rosie sang this song at her grave, I was so teary and wanted to just cry my eyes out... R.I.P.... Isara...

No matter how old this game is this song will always hit me hard

And even without that loss, Rosie doing something this sentimental is just amazing

This song... get me everytime. It reminds me of my little sister, my pet dog who was really old and a loveable girl. This was the last game i was playing when she passed on and it will forever remind me of her. *manly tear* Take care Hannah, have fun where ever you may be. ^_^,

majority of the VC1 english voice cast (excluding alicia's VA, she's the lone one that returned) did not return in VC4 Squad 7 DLC... 😭😭😭

Valkyria Chronicles has one of the best written stories I've seen in a game; an this is one of my favorite songs in a game. Bravo Sega. Bravo.

I think a prequel would be awesome too, set in the first war with Welkin's dad, Cpt Varrot as a sniper (Like her bio says in the game), that old man from the graveyard...I'd like to know more about him...I bet he'd be the new main character since he said he was an officer in the first war...and Largo'd be there too... so basically I guess I'm saying I want a sequel AND a prequel...eventually. haha

At first I thought Hedy Buress did an okay job as Rosie, but there were a few lines that came out in a wrong tone. Then I heard her sing this song and all was forgiven. Excellent voice delivery right here.

This game was one of the best things I've played in the past 15 years, and that song had me balling my eyes out, especially given the masterful build up of the relationship between the two characters in question.

Few games and scenes make me shed tears but I admit that I was watered up by this since I really never saw this coming. And I am amazed at Hedy Burress's voice when she sang this... Who would have known it is the same voice actor as Yuna from FFX

The death of Isara...I'e only just got there and I'm nearly in tears...just being the player, magin what the squads going through. this Game deserves a sequel!!!!!!!!!!!

I nearly tore my hair out trying to complete some of the missions. butI kept going simply to get the next bit of the storyline :D I really didn't see Isaras death comming :(

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who balled my eyes out upon hearing this. The way the vocals, the lyrics and the music came together basically destroyed me in the best possible way. I cried for a good 2 minutes. Then I rewound the scene and played it again. Same reaction. Kudos to Sakimoto and to the vocalist. That didn't sound like a very easy singing part but she hit all the right notes at all the right times. GRAND SLAM

I agree with you Mike about the singing for Rosie. And I'm playing the game now, even though I knew about this before when my bro rented it. Honestly, compared to the anime version of how she died, this is nothing. The anime one made me cry it was so sad....... And I still can't believe that off all people to kill off, the killed the sweetest of them all.

I loved this scene so much- I haven't had a tear in my eye during a videogame in some time.... beautiful song, fantastic characters, excellent storytelling. This game deserved so much more than it got. :(

Rosie's voice actress also voiced Yuna so there are similar ties but she hides it quite well.

I'm pretty sure that it is Hedy Burress. They might have run her through a few filters though... These days, anyone can be a singer ;) But it sounds incredible, I'll give ya that.

Truly one of the most beautiful and touching moments in all video games past, present, and future. The writing of this game was so good that you felt like you got to know the characters personally, and then to have one of them get taken away...

They say in the epilogue that this song became kind of an anthem for the war era. It’s weird to think about the other squads hearing this song after returning home and thinking of those they lost too

and to the comment about filters making anyone a good singer...that's not entirely true. This girls not mindblowing, but it's clear that she has some very solid talent. I'd love to hear more.

Still one of, if not the most impact character arcs and deaths in my living memory of gaming, surpassing even the legendary Aerith from FF7, with a beautifully sad song to boot :

a true moment in video game history, this had the same impact on me as when arieth died in ff7 and naked snakes salute to the boss when he visited her grave in mgs3. i really felt sorry for Isara in the game, she was looked down because of her darcsen blood but dispite of this she was always strong, smart and kind. when a film or game really makes you feel for the character this way, its unforgettable. i'll remember this for years to come. a true classic.

I nearly agree with you. I passionately love this game, but NOTHING beats when Aerith dies in Final Fantasy VII.

I sobbed. LIke a child. I'm a 25 year old manly man and I gladly admit this. I didn't see her death coming and it hit me like a fucking nuke. :( R.I.P Isara.

It's so cool that they took the time to dub the song into English, and I like the fact that Hedy Burress actually took the time to sing it (although it's pretty obvious that they did some pitch correction and auto-tuning on her voice at certain points)

still gives me goosebumps, the song in the Dr stone anime reminded me a little bit of this so had to pause the show to come listen and im really fighting the tears.

I actually thought myself it didn't look too good but when i tried the demo, I was just amazed at how good it was. So i got the game and finished it in a week (with a lot of frustration due to hard missions) And I've got to say, It will stay in my life for decades because it was just so legendary. The plot was one of the best i've seen. too bad they wont have a sequel. To be honest this is the first game I've played in its genre. AND NOW I LOVE IT!!! I will miss VC

This scene/song still brings tears to my eyes. I sort of guessed Isara was going to die, but I still hated that it happened. But it brought so much emotion to the game, during and afterwards.

They need to bring VC3 to the West so that we can see Isara at least one more time alive.

Honestly I was interested just from watching the game be played, which says quite a bit. Such a unique story, such a unique premise. It's a winner for sure.

played the game currently watching the anime this scene in the game made me cry. i loved Isara she was awesome. the song was Beautiful and fit the atmosphere perfectly i love this song though it makes me cry everytime i hear it

Yeah, I would like a sequel. With all the info in the game about the first europan war, I feel like wanting to know what happened. The dead of Varrot´s lover, about Welkin´s and Isara´s father, Largo, the man in the Graveyard, there are some many things I want to know. Valkyria Chronicles is awesome

@Shippoyasha I know, I love Valkyria Chronicles. The voice acting in it was so realistic they showed an amazing story. It was mind blowing that Isara got killed.

Finally found the official name of this song, Valkyria Chronicles OST - Succeeded Wish. Albeit in the OST, there is no English version (actually like both versions, so will have to ddl this one as well).

I never ever got so teary eyed on a game before... but this really hit me hard and i just cant control myself and let it all go... Isara was one of my favorite characters and now shes dead T-T Death to the IMPS!!! This game really has everything... great story, great character developement, gameplay... its just perfect in my own opinion. Isara will live on.

I think the only way to get the English version is to record it from the game. You'll unlock the option to play the soundtrack from the game when you beat it once.

Indeed this, in my opinion, is one of the best games out for the PS3 if not THE best. It's a shame it's unappreciated by the majority, people should at least give it a try or play the demo for it :(.

I've played several games that were meant to be emotional....but Isara's Death has been the only one to ever make me Bawl on the floor and refuse to save so that I never have to accept the fact that she's not there anymore.

You know? I didn't even know I had tears. I thought I would never be able to be sad...UNTIL! TODAY! When that idea was challenged by an Camper Sniper and an sad song... Defiantly one of my most favorite games AND I didn't even play it!

That's why I put on the Spoiler tag D: The video was meant for people that already know this and wanted to hear the awesome song again. Hearing the main theme a few times up to this point in the game and then suddenly hearing it with song makes it really stand out I think. Also, the english version is surprisingly good in my opinion.

@aqs44 it actually is, it's just under a different name and in japanese. its something like a love has passed on. it has the same theme as the intro and actually takes a while to get to this.

Actually it was a completely different game when it was on the 360. After some issues with microsoft, Sega WOW decided to go for PS3 and made the new Canvas Engine for the game. It was just going to be a regular RTS game on the 360. Also the deal with the anime came way after the release of the game since no one even knew they would make te game into an anime. It was just Sony jumped on the ship to help fund the anime.

this game deserves more credit than it does. man im an mgs fan and i think this ending is better than mgs4. no offense. what a pretty song. especially more meaningful if a character sings the theme of the song. very well planed out story for vc. rosie is also hot with her voice.

Seriously, that kills me, the soundtracks NEVER include the english vocal versions. This isn't the first time I've been disappointed like that, the Kingdom Hearts OST didn't include the english versions of the vocalized tracks, and they were also very good.

This was by far the saddest moment I've ever had in a game since I was a kid playing FFVII. I wish more people knew about this game. It's a masterpiece IMO.

best thing on the PS3, one of the few games almost all 360 owner say they would buy. it's a hughly underated and it's a console seller. same it just didn't sell well :(
