The Dutch police is actually the most trusted or one of the most trusted police forces in the world. About 75% of people say they trust the police. They're also deeply embedded in society and handle a lot of things. Not only fighting crime and upholding the law, but they're first and foremost emergency responders. They're always there first when people need medical assistance or when there is a fire. I guess we just love our cops.

Dutch people (not immigrants) have a lot of respect for police and we are very close. You can't fool with them, but they are very social. After my divorce I was homeless for 2 years and bought a small caravan. I was located in a city forest, close to my children and allthough it's illegal, police NEVER threatend me. Instead they pushed local government to do something for me and at the end of their evening shift, they always checked if I was okay (drugdealers there) and a warm friendly talk. They are awesome! Morrocons and other immigrants have way less respect for our police. You can see that in his vlogs. Why the attitude, horrible. I saw a lot of blue clips from the USA and I feel so sorry for those officers. Being attacked, insulted. We help them with just being cooperative and they help us. ❤ Flashing lights and driving on an another bumper is also an immigrant thing. They just do as they please and find their behaviour funny. I hate that. It is dangerous.

But the relation between public and police is good in the Netherlands. That has been different in the past, and campaigns within the police to ban bad behavior and campaigns for the public have turned the tide in a positive way. As long as the police behaves correctly, citizens accept the fact that they will be fined. Frustration levels on both sides are low, also because of television programs like 'wegmisbruikers' (road abusers) and 'opsporing verzocht' (in which the police asks the public to help resolve crimes) with which the police show their necessity to be there to keep society safe.
