I think it is father's soul that is in that doll, since Spooky's soul is in the mansion. This would still explain why doll cries near spooky, and at Monica's grave

In the good ending all the good souls are set free, so that must include all the people who were writing the notes in the original game.... *The romantic dude lives ooooon!!!!!!*

The "device" in the room with Spooky's father is the kingdom era artifact, not the Hellgate. The Hellgate, is a Hellgate, the "device" is the seal. That's why turning off the "device"(seal) but not closing the hellgate causes demons to be released from the mansion

So to summarize it all: If you finished the game with the good ending, you get a family reunion. If you finish the game with the bad ending, you get A Prequel To Doom Eternal.

Oh? Ohoho? What's this? A indie horror game that's series is complete AND has a happy ending? Can't think of many of those... Looking at you Fnaf, Batim, Tattletail, etc. EDIT: THE BENDY SEQUEL IS REEEEEEAL

I feel this DLC is a huge Homage to the Indie Game "Mad Father", primarily due to the doll monsters, the father performing experiments, the name of the mother, and the father's obsession with his daughter in order to keep her with them in some way or form: Aya's father wanted to turn her into a doll to preserve her youthful beauty and purity, while Spooky's father wanted to get his daughter back

Yay!!! Happy ending for spooky!!!! In hell: *all evil spirits hear a chainsaw and a shotgun blast they all huddle together*

the game that terrified me mercilessly for so many years just warmed my heart- also, I always smile when I see that ending screen of Spooky and her parents, they're finally at peace (tbh when I looked more into this game after the initial mental scarring from specimen 6 it made me kinda sad :'( )

I honestly feel bad for Spooky. She may seem all cheery on the outside, but really, she has a tragic backstory. She died from her father being paranoid and she was then trapped in this mansion, not being able to return to the afterlife. Her dad just wanted to tell her goodbye, and that it was him who killed her (probably).

My dad has dealt with PTSD all my life and it is an adjustment. We never did fireworks, never whisper if he's asleep, along other things. It's scary when you're growing up but in glad my parents told me why I couldn't do those things, avoiding my dad having a violent reaction or a full on melt down/ break with reality.

But how bad the player character looks after been in a haunted laboratory mansion thing for quite a long time... I'm pretty sure he looks like a zombie

Are you planning to explain the creatures in this dlc too? These include: The doll you carry The dolls walking around that one really tall doll that appears from time to time The hooked doll The weird shadow creature that rushed you in episode 2 and that odd blue doll from the first episode. (It could be see when you entered the room with the clicking) Edit: and the clown

I do wonder what would happen to the protagonist. I mean, they are in the middle of nowhere with a likely bloody axe a number of wounds and likely a fair bit of more trauma (don't forget one specimen only works on people who already had mental trauma)

It's good to see an ending where the kid's spirit is able to find peace. Far too many games just use "evil kid" spirits, without any care.

I imagine our character going through the 3 paths there are in this game, releasing all the good spirits in the mansion and banishing the monsters, just to pass out on the ground they stood on and possibly die from exhaustion to then meet Spooky and her parents and they thank the protagonist

Spooky can finally enjoy eternal peace with her parents in Heaven.

In the sealed chamber there used to be a still model of her father’s dead body next to the box. Makes me sad that they removed it for the 3-D remake.

I think the reason why her dad never returned her after he said goodbye was because somehow he DIED or was KILLED by a specimen or something before he was able to put her soul back to the afterlife. Good theory am I right?

10:49 HOLD IT! There is several pieces of damning evidence from planting the gun on the vagrant. First, all guns, even WWI models, had a serial number; the serial number in this case would be a number that could be linked back to the manufacturer (not the factory, necessarily). The second piece of damning evidence would be the ballistic markings on the bullet if it got stuck in spooky or landed against the wooden floor. Ballistic markings are like the "finger print of a gun", every gun model, especially the M1 Garand have unique ballistic markings which can be traced. The last piece is that spooky's father would of had his finger prints on the gun: A vagrant would be spooked by the gun, so it's unlikely he would contaminate the prints by inspecting the rifle. These 3 things from the serial number, to the ballistic marking, to the finger prints, and his history as a veteran even could all be traced back to him and be used to arrest him. Realistically in all four cases the father of spooky would be looking at life behind bars, also, his neighbours would of heard the shots ring out. I'd hate to say it but the evidence never leaned in his favor to begin with.

I think the doll you’re carrying around throughout the last DLC actually houses the soul of Spooky’s father. It cries when we’re near Spooky and Monica’s grave, but no reaction with the corpse of Spooky’s father. But then before you release the father’s nightmare, you use the doll to do so, losing it in the process.

I always thought Spooky was to scary and mean to me... But now I know the whole story I actually feel bad for her, but she can now rest in peace with her parents.

I'd really suggest you play Devotion, it's a Taiwanese psychological horror game made by Red Candle Games, which is also the developer of Detention, sadly, its been banned on steam due to censorship, it has a lot of good jumpscares and an interesting, heartbreaking story, it's perfect for spooktober!

I wonder how long it’s been when Spooky became a ghost, since back from the gunshot. Maybe for a very long time cuz living in the Mansion, about her parents, the specimens, and the previous victims have entered the mansion way before the player(that’s us) have come to the challenge.
