Love the hard work you put in, but if the rear fender have a curvature with the tire left to right would be much nicer, just the personal preference. Thanks for sharing this awesome work!
Brilliant thanks Dude I've had off-road bikes, Gixxers etc but at my age I need something a bit calmer (& my wife wants a Harley), you've just made the Iron look so much cooler. May be in touch to ask some questions.
Hi See this video " Harley Davidson 240 Rear Tyre Conversion 150 Front From The Rear " to see the original rear wheel now fitted to the front with large inverted Ultima forks.
I was wondering if the Iron can have the 240 tyre. You have proven it is possible. Ill be considering it for my Iron too, but would make the front one bigger too then.
I wanna change my Honda's tyre from 180 to 190... and I asked about it on a group and all hell broke loose... People were telling me that I'd die if I do that.. and it'll be very unstable... I want my bike to look badass like this one in the video..😍
nice job the conversion you made on your bike, so i just wanted to know here what do i need to make the same modification other than swing arm? can you tell me some other things and the measurement that i should need to make the 240mm wide tire conversion success because i planned want to use a harley breakout rear wheel. thanks for your help
I'm dying to have this done to my 2000 Hugger. How's the ride, does it feel like it robs horsepower? I've got a 1250 kit on it and next year I overhaul everything with new S&S hp parts
nice job! been looking for decent kit/swing arm everywhere, no luck. where do you find spacers for front pulley, rear wheel pulley/disc brake? and longer axel with spacers?
Tu devrais en fabriquer plusieurs bras oscillant plus large et les commercialisée pour ton compte . ( il y aurait des acheteurs pour ce modèle sportster )
What is that front pulley and doe sit need any kind of bearing? Is that the standard casing you have fitted, just spaced out? I am trying to build a hardtail sporty using that very V Rod Wheel and would appreciate any advice you can give me.
Hi the front pulley is steel and 1" off set, no bearing provided you run the belt no more than 1" off set ! to achieve this the belt will need to be very close to the tyre 3mm is the clearance i have. to do this i used NEW Harley-Davidson V rod 2007 & later Chrome Sprocket Compensator Bowl 40541-05 and slightly packed out the pulley to make the clearance . use washers as axle spacers to start so you can constantly make adjustments. Ps nothing fits ,casings brackets ect all made to fit. Cheers
Right the sprocket / pulleys I was looking at 1.75” Atlas Pulley or a sprocket that states the it is 2.5" wide overall and 2-1/8" to the inside of the teeth. So your saying I need to look at the rear sprocket as well and get it mounted to within 3mm of the tyre, then use a 1” Offset front. Mine is hardtail anyway so everything has to be made. lol How many miles have you got on the clock since you did this mod? Are you on the Sportster Sickness UK Page on Facebook?
Craig Pennington An old lady could hit someone regardless of the color. Goes for anyone really. People just need to be observant. And the songs badass btw
