Textron Aviation is now in full production of its new super midsize Citation Longitude, and the company expects FAA certification any day now. Once certified, the aircraft will be the company’s largest to reach market to date, pending development of the now-suspended Hemisphere program.
Textron recently flew one of the Longitude test aircraft 31,000 nautical miles on tour around the globe. While it was in Singapore, we had the chance to check it out and talk to Rosa Lee Argotsinger, director of aftermarket sales, about what this new business jet brings to the market.

What a beautiful new jet Cessna is about to put out. There's a brand new Sovereign+ in our hangar and is already amazing, one day I'll make a video showing it in details. The new Longitude is a goal for the future!

The new Cessna Citation Longitude displayed a beautifully built aircraft both physically and the longer cabin. The price is attractive. Its my dream private jet. Wish I could fly in one. The seats look very up market and congenial.

Sucks that it has such a restrictive range. A super midsized jet should have a 5000nm range at a bare minimum. Hopefully they would amend this with the Hemisphere. For the price , one could easily get a relatively new , low time preowned Gulfstream G550....which is a different level altogether....

$5-7mil more than its competition. Narrowest cabin in its class. At least they got the flat floor right (hint hint G280). Still waiting for something to come along to dethrone the CL300/350 in the SMS market. & we can’t wait to hear details about its recent test flight with the FAA on board. Rumor has it, it was eventful.

The G280 has a larger cabin, superior avionics, more range, and faster speed with a much higher payload capacity than the CL350. It also has a larger galley, much more water capacity and a vacuum flush toilet. How is it not superior?

For the price you can get a legacy 500 that has fly by wire and a wilder cabin or a challenger 350 with more payload or g280 with more range. So wat is the point here; Service time I suppose?

It's hard to compare certain aircraft directly. They all have strengths and weaknesses and choosing a specific model really comes down to what you want to use it for most, and your specific requirements. And yes, while you can look at the pre-owned market, there are compromises in doing that vs. buying new, just like with cars. That doesn't mean that you won't find the perfect pre-owned aircraft (for you) and save money though. For some, the benefits of purchasing new are worth the premium. Thanks for watching!

I think its fair to say all the answers are correct. This type of purchase approaching 30 million would be done by an extremely wealthy individual or large corporation who can take full advantage of generous tax write offs (depreciation). However, if this was me, I would buy used or use the interest off 30 million (2M/year conservative) and just charter a plane for 10K/hour for 200 hours a year. I would basically be flying for free and keeping my 30M.

Please dont compare with preowned aircraft with a brand new one. You may have additional hidden flaws, if you are not careful in PPI. Anyway, I agreed with you, Legacy 500 is much better aircraft, and costs less. Embraer is significantly improved her pre sale and after sale services. Thumbs up!
