Lmao, honestly when I clicked this is exactly what I figured this video was going to be. Smh lmao, “terrible product if your either impatient or mentally inferior compared to a 10 year old”
I used spray max matte clear on interior trim plastics and a dash pad that I fiberglassed, the matte worked great for that. I'd love to see you do a video using LVLP gun, I feel like there are lots of folks that are unaware that LVLP is an option for when you just don't have a big compressor. I. Currently doing a very budget friendly 84 f150 I'll be spraying speedokote "simple clear" this weekend, have already sprayed interior and LOVED the way it layer down off the gun! Keep putting out the content man, it's very helpful!
As always great content. Showing all the different options for applying paint gives the viewers the knowledge to pick the best application for the job. I'd drive that car 😉
People can say what they want, this is 90's GOLD. Nice score! I have used the spray can, it works for very small stuff. I agree, I haven't ever gone back to it since going with the gun lol.
I agree 100% it's made for small touch up areas, I used this on the rear spoiler and front lip of my 2017 honda accord and was very pleased with the results, of course I watched a few videos on it first and it's all in the application process.
Dude my heart stopped when I saw video! It's so rare to see an EJ with a wings west kit with z3 fenders. And with the gsr swap is the cherry on top! Sick car man! VIS racing carbon hood? Fun video though, we know you will make it right.
you should do a secondary test of the spray max 2k clear coat. Using it all the same day without putting it in the fridge. And let's see the results. Other than that awesome content.
I saw your video on the headlights and ended up spraying a motorcycle frame with it and its a little thin but that sucka was wet wet and only lost a little bit of shine.... Its good stuff.... I wouldn't dare not using the entire can tho. If your going to try and save it i say mix up clear as you need it and shoot it out of a gun vs saving part of a can but i dig this stuff for sure.
Great on my black rims on my cars and choppers ! U needed to spray black gloss rattle can on good first , light / no sand then 2 k it would look like a new Lambo with my skillset 👍👍🚬🥃
Big Mac Marco, In behalf of all of us mobile guys, Can you please make some more mobile paint repair videos? Like the one you did on that black car, in the winter, with a heat lamp? Remember? We would appreciate it a lot!
It was left over paint I take it.i did my hood and roof of Corolla with two cans .2 coats so when you say you bailey got one coat with 1 can and my hood is basically the same size..but I did have same problem with spray pattern, and can was room temp around 70 degrees...
Thanks for the video & genuine advice. Having leftover 2K clear & a hood that needs doing, its logical to try and utilise the product you have on hand. Perhaps the result may have been different if the can wasn't aged/semi hardened. Question, there's 4 bolts holding on the hood, wouldn't hanging the hood to spray get better results as you aren't spraying on a downward angle, therefore even spray coverage? Cheers
Hey Marco. What psi should I spray Speedokote single stage jet black SPK9711 with a 1.3mm HVLP? It says 8-10 PSI but that seems so low as I am used to spraying at around 30PSI . Thanks
I assume you meant moore motorsports? If so he is a good friend of mine. I could never get the results he does from spray cans. He has skills with the rattlecan.
Not sure that'll cover the scratches on a rental that I had in Moore, Texas... After the EF-4 rolled thru town, the Impala was wrapped around a tree, 4 blocks from where I left it :) Thank Goodness we were in OK City when the tornado hit! In 1986 the Wife and I Rattle can, 60 cans, White on a Huge 1971 Galaxie500 2 door... and it looked pretty good, and it's still White sitting in my Car Corral 🤣😂😄
Well that sucked!! I would however like to see what you do to "correct" it. Sand all the way off and start over?, sand with 800 and re-clear?, other options? etc. I'm sure whatever you do it will be nice in the end.
I'm no expert but bits of the old flaking clearcoat were still present and hadnt been cleaned up. Why would you put clearcoat on anything but a well prepared, perfectly smooth surface, cleaned and sanded to 800 grit? and then you're still going to have to wet sand from 1000 to 3000 grit to get a decent finish... And its not a fair review on the product if, despite using it on the same day as opening, you have already put it in the freezer. Any yeah as someone else had said car and can should both be warm... over 20 degrees, 70ish in burger units
By any chance was it April fools day when whoever it was told you to put the can in the freezer?¿?😂😂😂 Just a little heads up for next time, that’s the exact opposite of what you want to do. Instead what you want to do is actually put the can in some hot water & let it sit in that hot water for about 10 minutes. When you take it out and go to spray it will come out like a spray gun.
Cold temperatures slow down the reaction of the hardener. I wouldn't freeze it, but you can store it in the refrigerator for a short period of time to get an extra day or two of pot life. When you're ready to spray, allow it to acclimate to room temperature and then soak it in hot water for ten minutes before spraying.
Totally disagree with this guy on the clearcoat for large panels. I have used SprayMAX 2k Clear Glamor serveral times for small fender repairs, hood repsrays and other small jobs VERY successfully. I am not sure what his problem was but for the average guy working in his own shop, this stuff is the bomb!
I actually agree with you... For the person that doesn't have a full blown shop this stuff is pretty good. I think this job would have came out fine if I used a fresh can.
