Yes I need a haircut. But until then it's springtime preparation on the mountain and getting in the last rides of the winter season. Big projects ahead for the summer. Hopefully they all can get accomplished before next winter sets in.

I know I say this a lot on your channel, but I don't understand how all your videos don't have hundreds of thousands of views. The cinematography is amazing, the location is amazing and you don't over burden anything. One day they'll catch on, in the meantime, thanks for producing these for us.

Good morning, Ed! I'm always impressed how you do the upkeep on your place. There needs to be time for play, too. You seem to find a good balance to work maintenance and enjoying life. Also, you do a good job explaining the process to stay ahead of the curve living as you do. The end of this video of you out enjoying a sled ride was fantastic. The music was truly pleasing to me. The music and the joy you conveyed while riding went well together. Thank you for sharing a small stretch of your mountain living with all of us.

Hi Ed, very nice video, the beard is looking good. I plan on growing mine back but, keeping it more trimmed like yours. I like the sound of your plans, the sauna is going to be fantastic, you'll be getting marriage proposals by the 100's, lol. I do like your new Polaris, are those longer skis than regular skis? We have about the same amount of snow left, thanks for sharing.

Gotta cut the beard off before I go back to work for my annual FIT test this time. Don’t jinx me John! This guy isn’t ever getting married again. The skis on the Polaris are normal length, the camera might make them appear longer.

Thanks Ed for shareing your little peace of heaven. The rugged beauty of what you share to me is amazing to say the least. I hear you about the philips screws they are crap. Can you travel to town in summer via four wheeler. The way you have things setup is inspiering so much thought and planing to make things comfortable.
@MountainMariner
@MountainMariner 4 месяца назад
I can’t get to town in the summer by any sort of wheeled or tracked vehicle. Only by foot. And you would need a packraft also for the water crossings. Easy travel is only accomplished in the winter.

Ed, that drone intro was WOW !! Question about the first rain-- how will you clean the water since the roof has to be dirty from the winter?? I spent 3 years in Alaska during my AF career, 2 tours just north of Fairbanks at Murphy Dome AFS and 1 year at Campion AFS, 9 miles from Galena, and have never been on a snow machine-- I'd probably break something if I tried. I like watching you ZIP around on your machines...
@MountainMariner
@MountainMariner 4 месяца назад
There are 5 filters before I drink the water. Plus all the winter snow sliding down all winter long keeps the roof very clean. When you’re new to snow machines you’ll definitely break things. Hopefully on the machine and no bones. I highly recommend getting some training on them before riding.

What kind of power can you produce with your windmill? I don’t know what you wind speed is there, that obviously is a huge variable in power output. I would guess at some level they would have a brake?
@MountainMariner
@MountainMariner 4 месяца назад
Primus says about 40kWh a month (at 13mph.) But I see around 1kWh on good windy days for the Air40 turbine. The Air30 turbine they say makes 30kWh a month at 13 mph. Hence their naming. And yes, both auto brake when the air speed is too much for them and when the batteries don’t require a charge.
