Groff is just such an amazing versatile performer. He’s naturally funny but he also does intense , heartfelt, emotional drama so well. Not to mention his amazing voice , endearing stage presence, and his compelling nature.
I think what happened on Glee is compensation to the fans for having to endure the PAIN AND SUFFERING of Spring Awakening (I love it, but cry a little every time I listen)
I should explain that this was a four-camera shoot, and what you're seeing here is from just one of those cameras. No doubt one of the other cameras got what you wanted to see.
Everything about this performance is heart shattering... and Lea? The soundtrack didn't do her justice! Those who saw her live and perhaps Glee would totally agree with me. Both she & Groff were robbed @ the Tony's... and it tickles me so much that they're still besties! Thank you for uploading... this song & these lyrics are everything...
TY so much for posting this. One of the most heartbreaking and beautiful moments I have ever experienced in a Bway show. I saw the show 3 times and every time in this moment you heard nothing but sniffles and muffled sobs.
I never saw it in person because I couldn't afford it. I was still in school back then, but knew how fantastic this broadway show was. I wasn't really into Broadway, but then this came out and ever since 2006, I've been hooked on Broadway. I listened to the songs and I was blown away.
ive known about this musical for years! but just this year i really got into this musical and really understand this! this is so powerful and does truly send a message! the music is soooo amazing i cant stop listening and johnathon groff and lea are such chemistry and really have that connection! i use to be a dancer and know how it feels when your an actor/broadway performer/singer and professional dancer you want to tell a story and they really do!!!!
I've been thinking about this recently, and this is the only song in the original production where a character _actually hears_ what another is saying. there's the part in woyb reprise where hanschen grabs the mic while ernst is holding it to sing with him and they look at each other a little bit, but apart from that, this is it. in every other song, the characters retreat into their "song world" and don't really interact on the realm of reality. it also doesn't look like melchior can _see_ mortiz and wendla, so it's almost like he traded seeing for hearing. it probably means something deep, but I'm too lazy to think about that rn.
I love the musical, I can't stand the ending despite how appropriate it is, and yet I must have seen it twenty times already. Why, why the only part in HQ is the saddest one?
I don't think this is the saddest part. This is Melchior in despair but it's where he chooses to survive and not to follow Moritz's choice. The saddest part for me is when Moritz chooses not go with ilse and calls her name when he realizes he made a mistake
Amei ver a Lea Michele na Broadway. Ela já era fantástica. Eu acho que o brilho dela ofuscou a de Cory Monteith que coitado era tão talentoso mas não entendia esse dom.
43ketchup girl this is the Lincoln center vault copy. They record literally every broadway show professionally and you can go watch them. Just say you’re researching for a report you’re doing and you can watch literally any show!
Kaden Selvidge Idk how they got it, but I’ve watched the vault footage and this is for sure the same! Or maybe this is just crazy high quality and filmed at the same angle as the vault copy
They were great, I know, and it's so rare that this is the case, but the Original West End Cast were *even* better! Aneurin Barnard, Charlotte Wakefield and Iwan Rheon ❤❤❤
is there a way to watch the entire show? like i’ve looked on youtube and can’t find it, i’m currently obsessed with musicals and gosh i SO want to watch spring awakening
@@hollysisk9975 i saw that one already, but it isn’t like the whole show just highlights and comparisons between the cast then and now. i was wondering if there’s like a link to watch this show in its entirety
I wish there was a way to obtain the rest of the show, I've been waching it non stop in 240 quality and would gladly pay for a good DVD with this trio.
Moritz kills himself, and Wendla dies because of something to do with a botched abortion, though it is unclear exactly how. There's a bootleg of the whole thing! You should watch it, it's amazing.
