Going into my 4th week staying consistent after a 2 year break from the gym. Thank you Sam for reminding me that the first and biggest step is just to get my ass back in there and staying with it.

I turned 40 last November, finally got my ass back in the gym in February, been hitting it hard 3 to 4 days a week plus getting ~10K steps a day average. Now I feel weird if I go two or 3 days without going to the gym, in 3 months I feel better than I have in a decade and I’m finally starting to see significant results. Channels like this are my new evening television. I had a heart attack at the age of 36, it didn’t kill me.. now I can say it legit made me stronger! Not stopping til shred town!

Thanks for explaining your warm up process a little. Usually, I just hop in raw and do a warm up set I'd that. All about getting a little activation to prevent things getting wonky.

The legs are getting gnarlier during this cut. The cut is the revealing phase after a bulk, I am starting to see all my work during my previous bulk now that I'm cutting. I discovered veins that I had which I never saw before, it's a literal transformation.

i felt that. gym becomes second nature if you go basically everyday, learn a ton of movements. eventually your gonna catch yourself just going thru the motions because you do it everyday. at that point you gotta bring the intensity more and more. up the weights more and more

Asking someone who genuinely enjoys being in the gym, how they stay consistent is futile - we stay consistent because we fucking love lifting weights. The trick is to ask someone who genuinely dislikes going to the gym how THEY stay consistent, because that's when you'll get a real answer - it's fucking hard work and you just need discipline. For people like Sam and I, we go to the gym consistently because we fucking love it - we don't have to force ourselves to get there, if anything, we have to force ourselves to take time OFF from it.

17:30 , the answer to that question is 'create a habit', once you create a healthy habit suittble for you, you become really consistent over period of time. in my case, i created a ritual as follows, as its 3:30 pm on the clock, i turn on my pc, play sam's workout video, put on my gym clothes and eat my pre workout meal, and boom im in my gym by 4:15 pm. I had problems witt being cosistent also, but now its been 7 weeks without missing a lift.

I'm in the middle of a cut right now. Right now I cut every 3 months back to my optimal weight of 160lbs. Is this cutting to often - every 3 months? It takes a good month to complete the cut so I spend 4 months a year cutting and 8 months at maintenance calories (plus 1 cheat day per week). Is this ideal or should I cut less per year?

Can you say your opinion on diet when you loose just fat slowly over time but you keep your kcal high but the food you choose will be with absolutely 0 additional sugar and only carbs you get will be from potatoes, you think is possible keep muscle growth and lose fat over time i talking maybe 6-8 months dieting this way with just emergency cheat meal once in month but in natural mode

Been fortunate to drop 140 lbs the last 2 years through lifting 6-7 days a week and doing 20 minutes of cardio every day. The last two weeks my wife asked to join me to help get her started with lifting. I’m super happy she’s getting back into her health, but selfishly it’s affected my lifts (no music, more talking, less focus on just me). Any advice on how to be supportive of my wife (my top priority) and still get same quality of lifts I was before?

I mean help her with her set, once she's done go bonkers on yours while she is resting. I train with my friend and like we talk and joke around in between sets, but lock in immediately when lifting resumes.

There is no right time. It’s all up to you! You basically have to ask yourself if want to diet down to look lean and cut for summer or do you want to push your bulk farther and gain as much mass as you can in one phase of bulking until you are basically plateaued out and then start to cut. If that makes sense
