Got out of work, procrastinated the gym. Get on to watch same and went tl gym clocked 10pm-11pm Deadlifts Rdls Ham curls Leg press And some bicep curls heavy to make me happier Thanks Sam, i feel better Psychiatrist appointment tomorrow Note: 5 months clean & sober again after a short relapse. Been working out the entire time, and some before the hellish mistake. Heads not right but ive at least built muscle and slowly am fixing my physical injuries that have plagued me for over a decade. Tried yoga for years in 20s, crossfit and wright lifting in early thirties. Nothing makes me feel better than loght cardio and moderate to heavy lifting from 0-3 RIR. My Prs ar enot huge and i have to keep 3 rir with all legs lofts due to injury, but i am progressing. Thank yoi Sam

Erm actually according to my calculations he flip flops between opinions an example being "I prefer to do light squeezing sets for tris to burn out the muscle" and then the next time he trains the muscle he says "I like to get the weighted stretch on triceps so today is gonna be heavy" ???

@@Daniel-tc9lr yeah but he flip flops between them so for like 5 days he goes light squeezing mode and for like 3 days he'd go as heavy as possible, which isn't the best idea if you want to maintain or grow as much muscle as possible, I'm rooting for the guy but eventually he's going to plateau without having a workout routine

Sam I’m glad you know when to back off a movement depending on how your body is feeling the second you don’t listen to your body is when it becomes easy to get injured and yes squats till all out failure is only accomplished by a person who can deal with that type of pain and intensity…actually I rarely see it on squats anymore

If my shoulders or back is sore from squatting with the barbell I do goblet squats with the plate under my heels, feet together this way you're targeting the quads directly without the weight being on your back.

What if squating hurts your back what alternative workouts would you recommend? I do the seated squats and other machines to try and make up for it but every time I barbell squat I pull a disk in my lower back or something and end up limping around for a few days.

I agree that when one is dieting, it is good to have a cheat day, but not too often, what I do is. I following calorie cycling, so lets say I have a cheat day. I follow that high day with 3 low days, so that the calories still equals to a deficit at the end of the week.

Honestly I never really like doing back squats with the bar because of the same reason . They just hurt my joints too much , try Bulgarian split squats . You can adjust yourself more comfortably and even with light weight you’ll see a big difference in the physique of your legs

You need to develop a mind muscle connection. It takes time! Don’t worry what ppl think , try lighter weight to develop first than over time slowly add more weight as you get stronger! Spread your legs a little farther than shoulder width apart, with your knees and toes pointed in the same general direction lock your legs slightly outward and go down slowly with your hips going toward your butt. Try and let me know!
