I love tablescapes and bookshelf decorating. The hardest is coffee table, of all shapes, round, oval, square, rectangle, and long bench, are always difficult.
I grew up with that glass pumpkin jar. My mom still has it. It does bring back great childhood memories. It was always filled with different candy week to week in the autumn season.
I love option two above the mail slot. Those chairs are amazing! We bought chairs at a sale for 20 for the pair, paid to professionally upholster them with our chosen fabric and we LOVE them! Having furniture redone to your taste is like having jeans tailored to you. Just fit perfectly! Can’t wait to see what you end up doing with them.
I would looove to custom reupholster, I’ve not looked much into it but had previously considered with some other chairs I have. They’re also tufted so I assumed it would be quite pricey but I’m sure worth it! 😍
The glass pumpkin is from target! I have one that I bought on clearance after Halloween sale probably in 2006. That was when target was copying pottery barn and pottery barn was really starting to blow up. You could get knock off pottery barn for cheap! Good times 😂
I love it when you have a video ready for us!!! Love both options for the bow, but #2 makes it seem a purse or a package...making it unexpected ❤. I believe that you could use those plates for a vintage summer tablescape with 🇺🇸 ⚾️ ⛵️... Mirrors and clocks can be my favorite finds, too! Thanks, again!❤
Loved everything you have thrifted! I’ve watched the 4th of July table scapes in the past. I really would love to see both Summer and 4th of July table scapes. It’s always fun seeing a vintage flare done for this season.
I think I like option #1 a little more 🤔 but either choice looks great. I am a fan of the table scape videos, and I hope everyone else is too 😁 Thanks for sharing! 🖤
Gorgeous finds🙌🏻 excellent prices🙌🏻 I vote for option #1 placement. I love your home and decor style. Thanks for always sharing and your sweet genuine self.
Love the brass bow over the kerosene lamp arch. And for the lace napkin... I love those in a small sweet biscuit basket. Then fold the corners over the biscuits to keep them warm at the table. Its such a cozy detail . So happy the way you described your passion for mirrors without using the word obsessed!!!! I really think bloggers are "obseseed" with that word. It is soooooo over used , in my opinion. Those wing back chairs are an incredible steal!!! What I do with the worn area.... is I mix my powdered eye shadows til I get a close color and just dap with a Q tip. It literally disappears. Love Jameson's trunk nightsand. What a unique piece.
Oxyclean should get the stains out of the napkins. If you are going to use them, they will get dirty again anyways. Otherwise, no will probably notice the stains if they are just for decor on a tablescape in a napkin ring. I totally thought Halloween right away with your new dinnerware but also cool for 4th of July mixed with red, white, and blue. Love the metal ribbon. I also love decorating above doorways. Either option looks good that you showed. If I have to pick one option though, no.2 accentuates the mail slot more. If you don't put candy in the glass pumpkin, a strand a battery operated fairy lights would be cool-even some orange ones! I have a mirror weakness. You found some pretty ones. Score on the chairs! The nightstand in your son's room looks perfect!
Thank you Denise!! I agree those plates are very versatile!! A strand of lights would look so pretty in the little pumpkin as well, you know I love me some fairy lights!! ✨
Another vote for option #1. You find the best thrifted items. I’m surprised how inexpensive they are. Here in California, we would pay triple the price.
I like the table scapes any time of year. The horse bust is beautiful! Great find. I also have a thing about vintage mirrors. Currently, I have them lined down my hallway. Our house doesn't get a ton of light and I think the mirrors help reflect light back into the hallway. I vote for the scroll in the niche. Jameson's room turned out great. What a lucky boy to have such a beautiful room!
I'm still in awe of your son's bed. U did a really good job of cleaning it up. I'm a mirror kinda girl too, but I never find any really pretty ones. Maybe when I move back home.🤞I also collect vintage linens/handkerchiefs. They're just so pretty & they definitely don't make them like that anymore. I bought some cleaner for vintage fabrics off Amazon & it actually worked like a charm. I'll try & find the name. I've got a large cloche filled with a bunch of my vintage pieces in a sm vignettes & it's so pretty. I'm suppose to be downsizing, but it's not really working for me! lol
@@KrystaMeeker he's a sweet boy -- you won't have to worry. My steppie is still a sweet guy and he's going into 2nd year at University. I do miss him being gone, but he never became unhelpful or unappreciative. It's obvious you care deeply about him and that will help him in adulthood. :)
Love it when you do up your house or tablescape, I think your fall, Halloween and Christmas are exceptional, so creative and moody. Can’t wait how you style this year.
You need to get a UV black light they come in small flash lights normally with 3 different kinds of light in one light. It will show bedbugs any body fluids and will will show Depression glass that glows green bright green under the light that’s a plus that’s actually why I bought mine. Good luck. Love everything you do. Thank you
You can get the stains out: make a paste of baking powder, Dawn dish soap. rub into stains. Slowly add hydrogen peroxide and rub in. Rinse and repeat if needed. You will be able to get out the stains in your lace napkins. Wash my hand and air.
Great finds! I love all of the mirrors. I think the bow would look great above the telephone niche/nook. Awesome price for the chairs! Another thing to be weary of, when buying fabric and upholstered things would be bedbugs. We had bedbugs for over a year! It was a complete and utter nightmare!!! We don't even know where they came from, and were so hard to get rid of. So many itchy bites and the filth of them! So gross! I just can't explain how terrible it was. Be very careful. Enough of that. Have a great week! 😊
Yes!! Bedbugs are a BIG reason I am hesitant to bring in upholstered items but they can be on ANYTHING even wooden furniture so it’s important to fully inspect and clean items before bringing them in! Have a wonderful weekend friend!! ☺️
Love it all! Easy peasy on the napkins. Wash w non bleach like Biz. Trick is to hang them in the sun. Sometimes it’ll take a couple of days. Good luck.
You always find the best stuff! Your style is such an inspiration to me. Decorating my guest bedroom with an “Egyptian theme” and want to incorporate a bit of your style into it as well 😄
I like to see generic tablescapes for the different seasons. When the different holidays occur during each season, then those specific decor pieces can be added in to the existing table decor.
I like the bow on the niche! The plates are amazing, I love them. You’ve inspired me the past year to do my own tablescapes in my formal dining room, which we rarely use and it’s always felt like a wasted area in my house. I recently found some pretty crystal plates at the thrift store for $1.25 each. I’d love to see any tablescape ideas you have… I think 4th of July or just summer in general are both good ideas.
Such sweet napkins, when You held them up I imagined them as Sweet Little Ghosts at Halloween x I loved the mail slot option because it reminds me of Gifts wrapped with a Bow and it would Bless everything that came into the House xxx I am also addicted to Mirrors and have to buy them ...Yours are gorgeous! The first one would make a lovely Tray , and oooOooo that last one with its Copper Gold tones is DIVINE! Those chairs are so cool. Gosh never seen anything like the piece You got for Your Son's room it is perfection!
I will be sitting next to you in the mirrors anonymous group, I,love them and have no idea how many I have right now! Great haul, I haven’t hit any yard or garage sales this season, I’m trying to do a no buy year and use what I have in storage. I have a doll house to put together and do up like yours for Halloween, I’m excited to get started on that project.
Hahaha! Glad I’m not alone. I have cut myself off from most dish ware buying because I went crazy with it last year and am running out of storage for it. Hah. Your dollhouse will be so much fun, still one of my favorite projects!! 👏🏻
Yaaay I love your thrift hauls!! And I would love to see some summer tablescapes! I love these, too, since I am so clueless about tablescapes myself, it's so inspiring when I watch your videos on the matter! Greetings from Germany :)
I’m so going to cry! That clear pumpkin is actually a piece that was sold by Dunkin Donuts about 20-25 years ago & unfortunately mine has disappeared? It was one of the last pieces my mom had given me before she died & strangely enough it has been on my mind for the last few weeks? I almost cried when you held it up. 🎃
I'm addicted to mirrors too. My favorite was the one that was falling apart. 😅 I would love to see a summer night dinner party tablescape. I'm sure with your style it would be beautiful. Ps. If you do it please post on RU-vid. I don't do Instagram.
OMG the pewter plates! I’ve been on the hunt for a set for Halloween as well (of course…we’re soulmates lol) for so long and they can be sooo pricey! This is a major score for $25. I’m blown away!
