This week George and I go into full rant mode over the Springboks loss to Ireland. We discuss the tactics, our 7-1 split and if we need to parachute Pollard in straight away.
Was pitchside. Bokke got smashed at every breakdown. Never saw a team lose 5 lineouts. Leave 3 tries out there and still win. And....it was an amazing game. The breakdown outmuscled Bokke. Stop blaming the kicking. Ireland left more points out there. And console yourselves in that the last 16 teams have gotten it wrong and this is the 3rd loss against Ireland in a row.
South Africa looked like a broken team in the last 10 minutes. PSD was out played and out muscled and looked defeated half way through the second half. Ireland didnt even play well and still won. Ireland will get better as their campaign goes on. I think SA have shown their best hand and France will have too much for them
Munster fan here: Mane has been having a mare off the tee all season. At some point; he is going to get his head together around place kicking. When he does, he's going to be the best out half in the world.

As an Irishman I’m obviously glad we won but watching the game I made the exact same comment as you guys about Steyn, particularly when Faf went for the sticks from his own half. Credit to you guys in your fair breakdown and I must say, nobody in Ireland who understands rugby is writing the Springboks off and it was an incredible game, one I couldn’t enjoy because it was so stressful. I reckon there were very sore bodies on both sides the day after. If we meet again, may the best team win boys!
Irish perspective. Ireland gave South Africa lots of opportunities, especially with our disfunctional line out, but South Africa couldn't exploit them. Interested to know whether you think the pass for the SA try was forward?😂 Agree SA will beat France and make the final, just hope we can make it past the All Blacks and get another crack at the Boks!!!!
Vs NZ your 7/1 worked because of the send off and NZ was new to the 7/1 tactic. Ireland have leant and tried to adapt. They have showed other teams how to defuse the bomb squad. France is following closely. As for Pollard he cannot sit on the bench because their is no space in the 7/1 bench space. U can only start him at 2nd five as libook is the best distributor for SA. So what do u do. Go back to ur strength for a 5/3 and hope. Your bomb squad should be confident to call for kick to the sideline rather than goal. After all your coaches are confused and it will be the deciding factor comes the crunch game.
Ah now they destroyed you on the break down. And you keep asking you missed these kicks. What if Ireland didn't kick for the corner well that would be 12 points. Ireland left 2 very close trys also very close. Ireland could of score 25 plus points only for they had bigger balls than your team nd kicked to the corner
And the forwards wasnt that dominant. Look the Scrum penalties count. One area that Farrell must fix is the lineout; But out of that, advantage for SA came out of individual errrors (3 from Beirne and some of Ringrose, both outstanding players, but think they were not on they're brightest day 😂)
We got this game right, and not wrong, you can see the kicks you put into question, ask yourself why we kicked, this was a tactical game and as the path continues in this WC, you will see what the vision for this game was
It was Rassie and his tactics, we could have mauled way more from the lineout,but we should have won the game with conservative approach, Ireland didn't beat us, we lost the game. Libbok is not to blame it was the tactics, we know Manie will put that ball on the 5m line. I also think that Rasnaber are holding something back.
No, there is a time & place for every option, but take your goal kicks in tight matches...just get them over next time...in that squad give Willemse a chance, he has BMT. .or bring Pollard back.
AHH lads stop your crying. The way I seen it, yes you don't have a good kicker but even if you did and got your 9 points, well how about Ireland didn't go for the lineouts and they kick all their points, lol then they still beat you by 3 points 😅
Really starting to question not taking Nohamba as the 4th scrummie, his kicking is at like 86% and he had more points, tries and clean line breaks than grant 🤷♂️
So this weekend for instance Nohamba would be on the bench instead of jaden you can rest pollard after 40 and play nohamba manie and your kicking is sorted Also Nohamba played 10 at school incredibly well soo all they needed to do was beef him up a bit and you've got a huuuge X factor Admittedly his tackle suckess stats are low (63%) but if you watch its because he takes a lot of absorbing tackles Anyway, perhaps slightly bias because we were teammates but the stats dont lie check them out
Guys come on. You are being too emotional to give clear good analysis. I understand the feeling however it effects the quality of analysis. Not good quality analysis mostly bad or just wrong.😢

That is the rumor going around, same as the rumor that Ireland ar3 going to lose against Scotland because they want France in quarters. It was my thought that Rassie wanted to lose for that reason because we don't want to play host team finals on home soil. However, after listening to multiple podcasts an interview, my belief is that Manie followed what was communicated from the top. He did want to do corner kicks. We wanted the moll, but directive was kicked for 3, 6, 9. Didn't work gave to faf still didn't cost us 11 points and now including me is bitching about the ref and his calls which I strongly believed cost as just ad much. Yes game was flowing. Yes the were no cards bunkers or any of that nonsense however, Ireland coming in with late tackles while ref is focusing on the game in front of him and depending on his sideline refs and tmo was the biggest mistake ever. I watched the game probably 10 times just to make sure I have the facts right. On our score line, faf kicked the ball out. Flanker out of nowhere ran him over with his elbow no arm late tackles exactly as Finn did to Arendse. Picking Eben up in the air(illegal) calling it a mall with a man held up by 2 Irish players. 1st his feet must be on the ground to be a legal mall, 2nd ref response moll:" no you can't do that it is illegal bring him down safely" just to turn around blow the wistful against us for being offside. Then I don't even want to go there because I had this discussion over and over again, as a action netball umpire if you are not positioned correctly you can't see what is happening. That being said, Mr Ben was on the wrong side off the moll the ball was out Kobus was about to play it and ref blow not using the ball call the game. If we ended with a try no conversion we would have ended with a draw. If we had a try with conversion won with 2 points. Please tell me where I have missed something or just sour grapes because a ref that is in the now close to the action not paying attention can cause a team a game a finals a world cup. All everyone is asking is get it right.
@@timseytiger9280 like I said it was just rumor. I just watch 2 show Afrikaans toks en tjops and super rugby. With the super rugby show everything I pointed out they spoke about and basically agreed. Now T&T was still on week 2 games but Nick Mallett said it very well. If you right in front of the posts 20-30 meter out yes kick for posts but other angles kick for corner. I love my sport as a coach I trust my captains to make the right calls because they on the court I am next to the court. Half time captain speak 1st and then me or the other coach. If you can't trust your capt to make the right decision bring in the disco lights. If you trust your capt leave the disco light and home and put your trust in your team and captain. You coached them did the pre game training and if you ask me Manie wanted to kick to corner but Rassie had the post light up and back fired 7, 14, 21 is beter then 3, 6, 9. Sorry I went off track Ireland won't never throw a game against the world champs as the nr 1 team because they have a point to proof but Scotland I have questions about the rumors

The reason we lost the game was the ref. Watch the game again. It was biased beyond belief. Ireland were holding players down collapsing scrums neck rolls. SA should pull out of this world cup in protest.

The last play was a clear penalty try. SA would have won the game. What about Ireland cheating and holding players down. Siya tells the ref this and Ben O Keefe does nothing the whole game. It was the poorest display of officiating I have ever seen. Watch this space poor officiating is going to cost us the world cup. Don't say I did not war. You
@@dinoducci4039 Your keen observations were overlooked by every member of the South African team and Coaching Staff..The Irish team was cheating and had obviously paid the referee..Are u an administrator on TSAnalytics?
