I’ve been wanting to buy a gun for awhile and finally went to the range and my mind was set on getting G19X but the gun salesman was very stubborn and somehow convinced me to purchase the Springfield echelon. I’m not easily influenced and felt like the guy screwed me over since I didn’t do any research on this gun but since he does this for a living I trusted him and as soon as I felt this gun in my hand and got some range time with it I immediately fell in love with it. I’m very happy to say this is my first gun and next week I’m going to pick up the MCX Rattler unless that same salesman is there and convinces me other wise. Thank you random salesman whose name I forgot your a real g
i was looking to get the 19x aswell, decided to just get the glock 19 gen 5 mos, but as usually with my favorite gunshop they talk me into much better deals and options, first time i got a g2c taurus for only 225 couldnt beat the price, second time i went for a hellcat pro, they sold me on a regular hellcat with range bag and 5 mags for the same price, was a great deal. this time i went in for the glock 19 gen 5 mos, guy told me to take a look at somthing, it was the echelon. looked at it thoroughly, compared the 2 and got the echelon for 10 dollars more than the glock 19 gen 5 mos lol and the echelon has the udot and titrium sights and is compatible with a bunch of different optics. the grip and ergonomics are great too. love that store lol
Went to look at a prodigy and when I picked this thing up, it was like a light came down and music started playing. Fit my hand perfectly. I love it. Best gun in the price range hands down.
This is basically a custom g19 with a slightly better trigger. It would cost a good $1300 to have a glock set up like this. I built a polymer 80 so I know.
Thank you for making an Echelon video. I think it is one of the most underrated pistols on the market today, and seems to be largely ignored by the big name Guntubers. I guess "Springfield" doesn't get monetized like Glock does.
I love mine as well it’s hands down my favorite pistol, if they made this in a compact size I would carry it everyday! With the chassis system I’m really hoping they do !
The trigger does snap the finger occasionally, but other than that, I have ZERO complaints with by Echelon. It's at my bedside, and I own several pistols.
I watched a lot of reviews and a couple torture tests before deciding on the Echelon and those along with my own range time have more than validated my decision. It is nice to see continued reviews/updates as new products become available for it. Im finally ready to spend money on a good optic and the RCR costs the same as the Echelon and has been performing well too. Thanks for the update!
Absolutely love mine however the base plate flew off while I was shooting it at the range the other day. Springfield sent me some new screws. They have excellent customer service
I can't understand why Springfield still gets so much hate. I get it's not made here, but that has nothing to do with the quality. Haven't had an issue with any if my Springfields since the OG XD.
I love mine. Coming up on 5000 rounds through mine. No problems whatsoever. I think the trigger is fine enough. It's no PDP...but it works. Only issue i have is after about 300-400 rounds the gun gets hot. Makes it hard sometimes to keep that grip up high on the support hand.
@@9MilRidgeyour review was great. The guy asking you to take a part the gun and show what? Does he want you to X-ray the parts for wear? Did you measure every part and tolerance to compare for Mr. Karen? lol.
I have the PID on my echelon as well! I ceramic coated my light and nothing sticks to it! Granted, I have the threaded barrel so it is past the light. But I offer the ceramic coating service for lights and optics. Let me know if you would like to test my coating to counter act the carbon build-up.
Picked one up and it quickly became my favorite handgun, especially with the threaded barrel for range toys + just a few more lbs of ballistic energy/velocity, and accuracy. 50y is almost too easy. Naturally they released the integrated comp model soon after I got the OG, lol.
Your a much better shot than me, great review and atmosphere. Gotta ask, can you co-witness with your optic? I heard you can put ~60 different types directly with no plates and that one seems like it's too high for the rear sight.
I have a Springfield XDM Elite 9mm. It is a great gun and shoots better than my glock. Cant wait to try the Echelon. But I want a Walther PDP or A Canik TTI
If they make a g19 sized compact 10mm version I'll be so happy that I'll get teary-eyed lol. If they make one I hope that it's reliable like the 3.8 xdm 10mm. I hope it's an actual compact instead of a subcompact. I'm guessing we'll be waiting a few years which is depressing.
i would rather have no issues over gun issues, but i would also rather have mag issues over gun issues lol, went to buy a glock 19 gen 5 mos and got persuaded to buy the echelon at first i was iffy but i realized i just got a really good deal. as far as the trigger goes i like the hellcat trigger and the echelon trigger but the salesman recommended apex triggers.
This is one of the pistols I am considering buying. Other than the magazine issue, the only other issue I saw on another video was the slide dropping easily when the magazine was slapped into place. I am curious if that was an issue with one pistol or something all of them do?
I've lost for mags already out of mine with the Safari Land 6390 holster. I was thinking about grinding off the right side mag release. I also have big meaty hands and sometimes lose the mag on the draw. Besides that I love it.
Have you checked out "wasatch holsters" with my Echelon set up (compensator, vortex red dot, and TLR-1) it was hard finding a decent holster, or any holster for that matter, but the company I mentioned made one for me and it's not a bad holster, if you are looking for any form of active retention.
@@DontaStewart - I picked up 2 different holsters from WasatchHolsters for my Echelon (with threaded barrel, TLR-7X and Holosun 507C ACSS). One chest holster and one level 2 drop... zero issues. Kendall does great work for a fair price.
@@G_Weezy I think I'm gonna get one, I was waiting to see if any different models came out, the Hellcat pro came out 2 weeks after I bought my regular Hellcat.
I tested the trigger on 3 different ones at 3 different stores and all triggers had this weird delay like you pull the trigger and then a millisecond later you hear the pin strike , seems very unsafe and a whole new trigger discipline
I like it but can't shoot it well. It is like a Glock with that grip angle and man do I not shoot that as well as my APX. Girlfriend loved it though and was her best shooter. Wish more companies would copy that slide because it is perfect!
@@leftyo9589 it’s close. Echelon is not that different. It has a little bit more room and play with back strap but put them side by side or on top of each other and it’s pretty comparable
If your grip angle feels off, change up the backstrap. I liked the small better for getting full purchase, but noticed that my barrel pointed up when pointed. I had to cant my barrel down on target. A medium backstrap changed the pointing angle.
I love how my Eschelon shoots, however the one thing that I can't seem to get past is the magazine release button. It is way too easy to release the magazine when holstered. I tried to carry it appendix and every time I lean forward the magazine releases. Changed the button from ambidextrous to a single side button and it still releases the magazine way too easily. I'm bummed.
I always know someone overestimates their shooting skills when they cry about the reset. You don’t shoot to reset. No one does. You can’t consciously wait for the reset while shooting fast. That’s the stupidest thing ever.
@@9MilRidge I actually did . You cried about the reset the entirety of the video lol .BTW you are a good shot, I just think the whole reset thing is blown out of proportion.
Thanks for saying I'm a good shot. But, that's why I said the more you you shoot it and get used to it, it doesn't really matter about the trigger that much. Also the Echelon is my go to full size pistol over any other full size pistol. I shoot a lot, and I 100% can feel the difference in trigger reset. If it was my only gun I used, it wouldn't really matter because I would be used to the way it worked, but because I shoot so many guns, I like the feeling of the reset being more prominent. I guess all I was trying to say is that the trigger could be better with a more of a distinct reset because you just can't feel it as well as other guns. Thanks for watching and commenting, stay safe.
Love mine! Put on a Holosun 508t rd x2, nightstick 550xl, and a ndx stainless steel guide rod! Hella of s shooter! I’ve owned a lot of pistols over the years but putting a little weight on the pistol was the best decision I’ve made concerning this Springfield. I’m pretty confident it the best full sized pistol I’ve ever owned. I do have a p365x macro non compensated for my edc. I love it for concealed carry but it doesn’t come anywhere close to my Echelon
Everything's good except for that fk'n hellish, God-awful trigger! No reset! Spongy! Unreliable on the reset position! I've tried every variation of aftermarket trigger and trigger spring set-ups! To no avail! It will take replacing all the sears with some that are machined properly, and the right spring setup! I've been on Apex to do this... Don't know if they ever will. It amazes me that no one's stepped up yet and fixed that!
