I looked this movie up because I was curious, and the main actor credited as "Pete Jefferson" is actually named and credited in everything else as "Jeff Peterson" and I just have so many questions.
His girlfriend is so creepy. Shes an adult who sends him gifts and promises him a job. That's classic grooming and going after a highschooler means she probably wants to date someone impressionable thats easily manipulated
@@ChaosTherum well, it seems that she's some sort of high level designer for this company, which even in the twisted logic of this movie I don't think can be reasonably expected of a college freshman.
@@bcc5701 twisted logic, twisted. As in not normal. You know, like something that got twisted up. Logic that twisted out of its normal shape. Logic that has a twist in it. Twisty, crazy logic. You know, like logic in a world where a crazy person talks to dogs and thinks saying hot mainframe is a good flirtatious line. Twisted logic.
@@ChaosTherum Thank you. I always thought it was cool to be dating someone in college when I was in highschool, I mean Im 17-18 theyre 19-20 whats the big deal?
I was confused of why he dwelled on that so much. It isn't even that weird. I met my wife in high-school, but I graduated one year before her and went to college while she was finishing high-school.
It's amazing how back in 2000, you could have movies like The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and Spy Kids come out: cutting edge, high polish, fantastic direction. But when you're on a low enough budget, your movie looks like it was made in 1991.
+ Old box PCs, spiked gel hair, college brat character, clothing with simple colors with maybe some striped shirts thrown into the mix, t-shirts over long sleeved shirts, bad cgi/visual effects, fire and a strong yellow/blue filter over everything.
@@qr-code6334 this is so accurate, it took me back in time. I was in my early teens during the 2000s, sometimes I still miss those days. We were all so stupid. I love it.
I love how when the female friend says "let me show you what a girl can do" which already, great line, she literally clicks the keyboard 6 times and then there's the light show. Like idk if i can open my email in 6 clicks.
Hey Eddie, I'm actually an IT Security Engineer when I'm not on youtube, and would like to let you know that actually when you do in fact access a hot mainframe that indeed a laser light show is considered typical behavior and nothing to be alarmed about. If you continue to have problems it's never a bad idea to turn the laser light show off and on again. Thank you, take care! TechSpaceCowboy
Can we talk about the fact that his mom looks the same age as his game-designer-college-agent-girlfriend? What's her skincare routine? How much water does she drink?
That teen girl performed so incredibly with her acting. I am truly changed. She deserves many award nominations and wins from the perfect and emotionally connective dialogue she delivered effortlessly. Wow.
One time I woke up sick at like 4 am when I was like 10 or 11 when the movie was on Netflix and I just felt this draw to turn that movie on specifically even though I had never seen nor heard of it and to this day I think that I was possessed
slightly disappointed that "spy high" isnt about a high school full of spies who have to deal with the relatable antics of dealing with highschool but also youre a spy but great video
@@briochegamingandalsoothers856 yea dude I hate that Hollywood bullshit. Like did you know they didn’t actually kill 20,000 actors on a beach filming Saving Private Ryan? Unbelievable.
This movie is literally a promotion of CIA grooming lmao. Eddy saying "If you want to be a spy, just be a child and get with an adult" isn't that far off if you know how the CIA gets and controls its assets
As a kid I saw lots of movies were people seemed to be able to just know what their dogs are thinking or saying and have a conversation with them. I actually got a little bit of depression cause my sisters pretended they could speak with our dog and gas light me making me think I was a weirdo who couldn't speak to animals.
As someone who was dumb enough to be in an online relationship, I will say an online relationship with an adult when you're underage (I was 17, nearly 18 and she was 24) is not something that'll go well, even less so than a regular online relationship
11:51 When she said "Let me show you what a woman can do. Gentlemen, to the window" for a sec I thought she was gonna prank send nudes to the government computer
Well, he himself pretty much looks like he's significantly older than Eddy. I thought Riverdale was bad but, man, none of the highschoolers in this movie look younger than 22 lmao.
My computer isn’t powerful enough to handle the game, my only option is to hijack the American governments mainframe and have satellites display a laser show outside of my house.
This movie gives off such incredibly strong "this isn't a beach, this is a bathtub" vibes, and I think the protagonist is the main source of those vibes.
I like how they were about to arrest the 15 year old for getting leaked access to "government mainframes" from his 20-something year old spy groomer. The child didn't perpetrate a single one of the crimes from that last sentence
I feel like whoever wrote this movie had heard the title of the movie “War Games,” didn’t ever actually watch it, and just thought that was a neat idea and ran with it
As a guy who like to mess around with computers, I can confidently say that a hot mainframe is not a thing. In fact, if your mainframe is hot, than your computer is not okay.
I am 2 years late but I am losing it at the scene where they pictured a game devs room as basically the inside of the Command Center in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers lmao. Great video Eddy.
I like that they wanted to watch another movie about spies and kids, and seemingly didn't even consider Spy Kids 3. It just seems like good commentary on the quality of that movie to me.
boy oh boy did my dyslexic brain read the title as "Sky High: The Most 2000's Movie of All Time." Waited way too long to realize it was not the same movie...
I know it's probably because it's easy to point out but I'm shocked that Eddie doesn't point out that literally the entire cast sounds like they're reading from cue cards that are behind the camera as they film. I haven't seen delivery of lines like this basically ever.
Check out the movie “Tammy and the T-Rex” I’m fairly certain it will fall into the Eddy zone. A teenage Paul walker is turned into an animatronic T-Rex and the blonde girl from starship troopers falls in love with him
Eddy needs to make video on this, I literally don’t know a single other commentary channel who had and we need some commentary on this movie. Please eddy make a video on this movie, for the people man
Honestly, a strategy gamer getting into the Military Industrial Complex might be the most relatable gamer villain origin story I have ever heard. This is what Factorio does to a mfer.
How is no one talking about how amazing that first scene is??? The bad guy being just completely defeated by having water thrown at him, the frantic nonsensical typing?? 10/10
The thing behind Valerie in the “Game Design Studio” is legitimately a piece of the Lab Rats set, and I will now forever connect Spy High and Lab Rats together forever
That first scene had the sound effect you hear occationally in more techy rooms in TF2 for example the 2fort intel rooms have this sound effect. I main Engineer. I would reconize that sound anywhere
