As for this video:
I got the Bradley 2 beginning of Sept 2022 so the final days of testing the Caribbean overlapped with the Bradley 2 being the new knife I wanted to carry.
In the end, it was over 4 months of having the knife and over 3 and a half moths of carry use.

It reminds me ever so slightly of the Spyderco Ulize which to me was one of the best Spyderco designs ever but I really like that one too
@SpartanJohns
@SpartanJohns Год назад
I don't see the resemblance however to that I must add that sometimes to me certain models seem like they remind me of others and when looking at them it does not make much sense. The Enlan Bee L05 reminded me of the RAT1 however if you just look at them you can see that they are nothing alike. That must have a lot to do with each individual user. I never saw the Ulize until no. Had to look it up. Certainly an interesting design.

@@SpartanJohns yeah it had nothing to do with the handle just the way the blade drops a little on top

Just picked up a BladeHQ Exclusive Spyderco Manix 2 LW in CPM M4 and I am impressed. The Gail Bradley 2 is definitely on my list.

I recently got a Manix 2 LW with S110V steel. Nice to see they switched from the pinned construction to screw construction. I never had the LW and i must say: I like it a lot. M4 is also a nice steel. I like it very much. IMO it suits the Bradley 2 very much.

@@scipio7837 I am currently debating(with myself) on whether to try the Kapara or the Spydie Chef. That "inner discussion" has been going on for some time. 🤔

@@SpartanJohns I cannot speak to the Chef, no experience. Maybe Pete could shed light on that.

@@scipio7837 I like the shape of the Kapara and the fact that it has a comp lock plus, wire clip, how the cutting edge level is lower than others when looking at the handle. I don't like that it is S30V. Nothing wrong with the steel but I have so many knives with S30V and tried all edge angles, thicknesses, that it really can't surprise me. The Chef is...I never had a titanium handle, it has a weird shape handle and blade, wire clip, lc00n which i like....the only thing i don't like about it: it is a frame lock. I have been looking around and thinking about it....i'll make my mind up eventually....but right now...i don't know....

If it were a backlock or framelock, I already would have owned one!

Linerlock knives are not my favorite types of knives. But in this case...I think the Bradley 2 is very well build and that the Liner lock suits the knife. If they would make it a sturdy backlock ...that would be an interesting knife. I think I would be very tempted....

VG, Denis

I didn’t handle the 2nd version of the GB, but the original I had failed on me big time when I tried drilling a small hole in a plastic bumper. Nearly cut my index finger off. It had the same boxes liners, which is funny, because supposedly the design was to prevent linerlock disengagement when twisting the knife (which I did). Most alarmingly, however, is that when I tested the knife lock, pushing on the spine the knife failed fairly readily. I sent it back to Spyderco, and the version they sent back was a tad more robust, but it had the same flaw. The polished liner simply travelled when pressure was applied to the spine. It was unfortunate, because the knife was good, otherwise, and I like M4.

Drilling a hole with a knife should be done with a fixed blade.
@helterskelter156
@helterskelter156 Год назад
@@BornIn1500 That’s what all the Spyderco fanboys on the forums said, when I posted about it. Tell me, why do we - knifeguys - seek out high quality knives, if not to use with confidence? I’m talking about a super thin, plastic bumper. Also, to drill a hole in a 2mm thick piece of soft plastic is easy. I used a $20 Gerber Paraframe for it, in the past. I’ve never had such failure, from similar use, with other knives. A proper, high quality knife should take a bit of torsion and not fold.
@BornIn1500
@BornIn1500 Год назад
@@helterskelter156 you can't turn a knife into something that it's not. Quality doesn't matter in that scenario. No knife will magically become a multi-tool.

I found that with a lot of "First production runs" they have issues. It was the case with the Siren as well...So I usually wait it out a bit. This is why, when spyderco comes out with magnacut blade...i'll probably wait a bit. I really like the model and i had no functional issues. It is very robust and i must say....even if there are many issues with the comfort in hand....i still like this knife. I carried it and used it for over 3.5 months....now it is with a friend so he can test it a bit too...but...i do miss it. TBH...if I would have the opportunity to get the Bradley 1 i probably would....and if they would make the 3....i probably would get that too...I also like M4. I looked at this knife as a "hard use/work gentleman's folder" so i think it should be able to withstand harder tasks...like drilling a hole and some light prying....
@SpartanJohns
@SpartanJohns Год назад
This is not just "any knife". Not like a Opinel No8 which was optimised for slicing and nothing else. It has steel liners, lacks a generous cutout for the linerlock so that the scenario described above should not happen. While I do agree that anything else than slicing with a knife can be considered abuse i do not agree that we should give into that. Drilling a hole in hard wood or prying, chopping or batoning is definitely abuse when it comes to a 1-2 mm thick blade which is ground very thin and has a low edge angle, something optimised for performance. When you have an overbuild fixed blade or folder...one should really think why was it overbuild and what is the price tag. Would you agree?
