x^2, two ways in my head. 1) Perform the square roots then the division : ✓(x^6)÷✓(x^2) = (x^3) ÷ x = x^2 2) The division of squares roots is the same as the the square root of the division : ✓(x^6)÷✓(x^2) = ✓(x^6 ÷ x^2) = ✓(x^4) = x^2

Simple problem with fraction exponents let a equal 6/2 and b equal 2/2 Since the base numerator and base denominator are both x we can use the formula (x ^ a) / (x ^ b) = x ^ ( a - b ) a - b = 4/2 or 2 There fore the answer is x² If you don't understand what fractional exponents are, the numerator is the power and the denominator is the root. (I don't know why other schools don't teach this the very second you start learning about roots and powers, but when I was in school if you saw this problem on a test then you should at least understand what the numerator represents and what the denominator represents)

Again, I got the right answer but not this way. Square root of x^6 is x^3, square root of x^2 is x. So x^3/x=x^2. Is this an okay way to get the answer?

it's ok if you ignore that sqrt(x^6) is |x^3| and sqrt(x^2) is |x| then yeah. you're ok since the next result of an even power will negate the need for the absolute values

Greetings. The answer is x^2, done mentally in seconds. (X^6)^1/2÷(X^2)^1/2=X^6×1/2 all divided by X^2×1/2=X^3÷X^1=X^3-1=X^2. X^3÷X^1=X×X×X/X=X^1×X^1=X^(1+1)=X^2.

The square root is 1/2 power place both terms under the radical in() and raise to 1/2 power multiply exponents you get X cubed divided by X subtract exponents numerator minus denominator get X squared

√4=2,-2. I was taught all roots are in play unless the question, test, or course stated positive roots only.

I took x^6 and broke it down to (x^3)^2 = (x^3) (x^3) So the square root is simply x^3 which you divide by square root of x^2 which equals x. That leaves you with (x^3) \ x = x^2.

pretty decent overall. if you plug in -1 for x, then square root of x^6 isn't x^3 as sqrt(x^6) is sqrt(1) which is 1 and not -1. after the simplification though when we wind up with x^2 we can ignore the absolute values so it didn't cost you

I think I have this solved in my head at the thumbnail, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm getting x^2 as the result. First sqrt(x^2) = x. Next, sqrt(x^6) = x^3. (????) Finally, x^3 / x = x^2..

When I saw the thumbnail I played this video just long enough to leave a comment. A video over 9 minutes long for such a trivial problem? Who is this video meant for, 6 year olds?
