I've been babysitting my step dad's cat and let her into our fenced in backyard yesterday for a little while. Apparently a family of squirrels live back there and they were royally pissed off to see a cat in their yard for the first time. I've never heard squirrels make so much noise in my life. The cat looked up at them and ran back inside with her tail puffed up. Sheesh guys... I just wanted to let her roll in the grass for a bit.
A squirrel does this to my indoor cat every day! I put this on loop, ran it through outdoor speakers and now she can “bark” back! My cat feels empowered! 😂
I'd always thought these squirrels, when they're especially angry, make this "Chk! Chk! CHHHHHHHH!" sound. I know because, as a kid, I used to get into arguments with a particularly grouchy squirrel who thought he owned my grandma's backyard. I don't remember this sound.
Hear the difference between the fox and the gray squirrel, he has the two squicks with a chuckle. The gray has 4 or 5 squicks usually with a long whine on the end.
ROFL! The resident squirrels who live in my neighbor's huge maple tree jump on the top rail of the fence and make these noises at my dog when he's trying to potty in the backyard. It really makes him mad!😂
It's a warning call. They alert others by barking and shake their tail so incase it was attacked, the predator would go for their tail and not the vitals
When you hear this sound you must stay still... if you try to escape you are dead... they are dangerous and unpredictable animals... if you have been warned you must make a will 🙄🤔
