@@Edgarramirezboxing not true Floyd Mayweather, Sr fought him. Now remember Sr was not as good as Jr because he was a street guy that used drugs and had been shot. So he wasn’t as ring smart and business savvy as Jr.
@@Michael-tl2fv actually it was the other way around. Uncle=Offense Father=Defense/Shoulder role. That's why you seen young pretty boy Floyd under his uncle knocking niggas out then old Floyd under his father being a technical defensive fighter
Monster? What did he do to people that made him a monster? Lol stop amping dude up like he's comparable to Iron Mike or something, that is a true monster tbh
No they are the boying family: their techniques have changed boxing all together. , Rarely can a successful fighter go a entire fight without he or his opponent making use of the Mayweather methods.
Funny when people have no idea of their story but got a slick comment to write. He lost because of the gunshot injury. Even with it he gave sugar a run for his money. can you imagine if he never got shot? Jr wouldn’t have been as good tho because the injury made him turn Jr into a monster because he could no longer achieve what he desired.
The shoulder roll is honestly one of the most underappreciated blocks in boxing. It's quick and effective. It also doesn't require you to keep your hands up at all time making it less fatiguing
But also requires you to stand to the side. Making hard to set up power punches due to telegraphing.. you got to be smart using this defense. But it's great for me. Cause I can use it to set up a side kick..
Underappreciated? You see every people use the shoulder roll all the time. To the point where even people misuse and misunderstand it as an "invincible" defense.
@@BossxCodxPlayer what kind of question is that now ? It's always the ones that have no respect for others what so ever that ask the most disgraceful questions I tell ya .DO NOT REPLY TO ME AGAIN OR I WILL BE JUST LIKE YOURSELF ." DISREEPECTFULL "
I agree Floyd is great but when he tried to say that he changed the sport of boxing in terms of not taking punishment is when he lost me on that claim. If I remember correctly, it was young 1960s Ali who started the whole hit and not be hit thing. Ali is the whole reason so many great boxers after him start doing hit and run tactics then teacher to later generations such as mayweather sr did with Floyd jr. Floyd is really doing nothing but doing what 1960s Ali did and claim to be the greatest. Floyd jr basically doing what 1960s Ali started lol.
@@juandelrio7181 I know who he learned it from. I never said he learned it from Benton. I was refuting the claim made by someone who said Floyd Sr invented it. Becuz he didn’t invent it. Benton was the first to use it professionally. He is accredited with its invention and then later totally perfected, in and then took it to a new level, in my opinion, by Floyd Jr. THAT’S What the fuck I’m talking about.
@ChrisRobinGaming he's uncle was the best fighter in the family before Floyd grew up. dad was in prison on narcotics offences and uncle taught him the most
@@mywellnessjourney-kk3sx No he isn’t, why would you say that? Unless you are just confused and don’t follow boxing much and you are talking about Mayweather Sr’s brother Roger Mayweather who passed away.
It's combo of Philly, defensive head, arm, feet movement. Using spacing as advantage, very evasive, counter hit, tactical aggressive style. So Philly works with that fight style
Dayum... His chin is straight down to the chest. The shoulder is up to the jawline. The turn not too far where the eyes stay on the opponent. Masterful Philly Shell style.
They created the perfect 45° when his chin is completely concealed and which allows the opponents fist to skip past his temple sliding parallel to his head
I have.. and it works. But I've also grown up in a boxing family and fighters. My 1st cousin is Tracy Patterson and have other pro and am fighters in my immediate family
I’ll tell y’all something funny I wonder if any fight got called because a boxer that hit too hard broke the rotator cuff in their opponent’s primary punching hand? Lmmfao He wouldn’t be able to defend himself from the punches opposite him because he wouldn’t be able to raise his arm Lmmfao
He didn’t fight Chavez. But kostya tzyu punched his head in. Retired him. Would have smashed him worse in his prime . Because he could have taken more punishment. And he would of
This tells you how far you are from being a boxing professional that 70 year old champ can still dodge and move in the shell with no problem salute 🫡 champ
