Stevie is the greatest guitarist that ever lived and I don't say that lightly. There are and have been a lot of great guitarists. Trust me, I know the genius of countless guitarists. None made/make you feel like Stevie does. The groove climbs right inside you and literally takes you places you have never been. We all know this is a Jimi song and both players have many of their own great songs, but Stevie makes any song get up and fly. I was young when Stevie passed and I only saw him live 3 times, but I honestly listen to a little Stevie every single day of my life still. My wife thinks I'm insane as she will often find me up at 4 a.m. watching old bootleg Stevie shows. Thank you for another Stevie reaction. It made my day. Now I got my Stevie for the day in.✌❤
Sadly what we have on video is a pale representation of just how great Stevie was. When Satriani said he was like a holy man of guitars and Clapton remarks to the effect that watching him play on that last tour made me question myself as a musician and it was hard to go on stage after him, just gives you a hint of what he was like.
Have to say personally I think Jimi was ,he was the first to do everything srv did. And his stage presence was awsome ,not to mention how cool he was ,just my take on it.
How he could channel his emotions and feelings through his fingers to the strings of his guitar and bring his guitar to life. There will never be another guitarist like him..S.R.V.
I agree, Life Without You is probably his most beautiful song, and he often spoke a wonderful message at some point before or during when he played it live.
Thing you will find Jimi did that first ,he made love to his guitar ,and the coolest dude ever ,srv emulated Jimi as he loved the guy ,did the tricks Jimi did ,that says it all. Not saying srv isn't great he was ,but Jimi mesmerizies me watching him ,personal choice comes in too this too.
I like to think that on some days Stevie will look at Jimi with a smile and ask, "Little Wing?".. Jimi will nod his head and say, "Yeah, Little Wing". Then they will go on for hours jamming in the after-life :-)
This Hendrix cover is what made me a SRV fan years ago. Stevie Ray put his own flavor into the song and made it even better.. After watching SRV on Austin City Limits, it was over for me.. Best blues guitarist ever.. RIP A concert that I will always regret not having the opportunity to see live. Thank you for covering this, I love your thoughts on it.
Thank you for checking it out. Every time when I see ppl respond to artists, it’s a reminder that Art is one of the best ways to leave a mark, SRV is definitely gonna inspire many generations of musicians/guitarists, but unfortunately artists themselves have a tragic drama like life’s and mostly didn’t receive recognition while still living; so it’s also a reminder, - the price - is that worth it - to live in struggles all life and be remembered after (are they even care and know after death) Drama mood today
@@IYOU I picked up a guitar for the first time as a child. My father taught me how to play. I gave up on it after a few years... then I found Stevie Ray Vaughan as a teenager and picked it back up and have been playing ever since so yes.. Inspiration indeed! SRV got clean and was playing his best music before the tragedy over 30 years ago. Just like Ozzy's lead guitarist Randy Rhoads, he never got to really see the mark he left on many people. I think they know, though. ;)
What makes SRV so amazing is his ability to express emotions in his playing. Basically, stage 1 guitarists play the notes they know. Stage 2 guitarists can play whatever they are thinking. Stage 3 guitarists can play whatever they are feeling. SRV was so talented he could simply feel something and his fingers would play it, without thinking. Perfectly!
I was a bass player in a support act on a tour of Australia. Steve and I smoking a joint, sitting behind the stadium, talking. A Gentleman, in my heart forever. We watched the sea together, I will never forget him. Ron.
I have never heard a more beautiful articulation of who Stevie was. The best I can come up with is this. If music became human it would be Stevie Ray Vaughn. Wait... maybe it did.
He didnt have to sing all the time... his guitar sang for him, spoke for him, cried for him... one of a kind musician!.... He died way...way too soon. But all the good one get taken away too soon.
Funny, I started watching because of your beauty and then really enjoyed your way of expressing exactly what it is that I love about Stevie Ray too. And the expressions of awe and joy on your face as you listen! I love Dave Gilmore also, he is one of a kind and one of the greatest players ever. But you were able to describe perfectly for me what makes Stevie the greatest. It's the way he makes you feel in your heart. No other player can do that. I am not sure there ever will be another who can touch the soul like him. Thanks, great reaction. And your reaction to Texas flood was great also. I'll be looking out for your other videos. ❤
thank you for being so natural on camera, I really felt like you were talking to me and that is cool. I loved that tree you were sat under. Thank you for taking the time to stop and appreciate God's creation. Much love from Australia :)
I think the word you were looking for when you were talking about the combination of guitar and drums was "symbiosis". He and his rhythm section were very much symbiotic. Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of those guitarists that can't be compared. He is the greatest to ever do it and the greatest that ever will do it. Check out Life Without You live at the Capitol Theatre. So much passion in that song. Also, could you check out Covered in Rain by John Mayer? The Any Given Thursday version. It's another one of my favorites. I'm happy that younger generations are getting turned on to SRV. His music simply must live on.
Stevie Ray,,, my favorite blues guitar player,,, I have always been so influenced by his playing,, it automatically comes out in my own guitar playing/songwriting,,,We all miss you SRV. Hey I YOU,- Your adorable,,,,, thanks for the video. -RJB.,,, Happy Holidays .
You have to watch his every move. His fingers are a gift from God. Watch his hands how they are guided spiritually from his soul. Never look away from a SRV video bc you'll miss absolute genius being performed. He's been gone over 32 years and still NO ONE will ever fill his boots. RIP💔 SRV🎸 The cat in the hat with the '59 strat.
🤠You may be one of the few people who could "visually match" that beautiful Bay Area setting behind you. 😊👍 Thanks for another wonderful reaction to my musical hero. ♥🎸🎸🎸
They are all the greats and all in their own way. But SRV was completely unique and in his own mind-blowing stratosphere. Love your reaction and agree with you on the craziness of fame.
You know that this was a Hendrix song. And Stevie Ray really plays this like an ode to him. And the lyrics of this song are a poem for you. Thanks for sharing.
SRV didn't die. God just needed him for guitar lessons. You can't put SRV into words. It's a feeling. It's an emotion. It's what most every other "great" guitarist lacks or lacked. They play incredible chords, notes, scales, and arpeggios. They create incredible licks. But they don't have the emotion or feeling in their fingers. When you listen to most of the work from other guitarists, they are incredible in their own right, but they are like stale, unsalted crackers after you've had a taste of SRV.
ur absoulutly right somthing about his music is mesmerizing its like the vibrations of the tones he makes triggers certain emotions in our brains that its almost physically touching you somehow
I have seen Stevie Ray a dozen times his playing takes you to another place it's very spiritual listen to Riviera Paradise off Austin City Limits he will melt your heart
Was wondering when you’d find your way to ‘Little Wing’... glad it didn’t take too long..:) PS.. the street you’re on & the houses behind you looks like the opening credits from ‘ Full House’ which was an American TV show in the early 90’s..:)
Thank you for showing us your beautiful park, trees and music. I no complain. I never complain. SRV is great. He is better than the Kardashians and Hendrix put together. Thank you again for your lovely film.
I can't believe he's been gone for so long. I watched his last show 1990, sat in the grass 50 feet from the stage. We watched the helicopter take off into the fog when he met Jesus.
Where is a talented guitar player , there is You, ready to catch everywhere the vibrations of a immortal feeling rising from magic fingers like these ! Actually not many people and not many young girls on grasses green outside , maybe none , are able to pay attention appreciating and feeling the deep story of this wonderful instrument that is electric guitar ... you really feel and do it , spreading pieces History like this . There are many Gods of guitar more Hyped and famous but you choose one of the selected Elite like him , very well done and we can always learn or remember !
@@_carl_83 when i think about rock in Texas i always have on my mind Wasp Blind in Texas ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RG69PMDBfaE.html
I've been in a mood today then I saw this and I feel a little better. Thank you for that. Been missing home and there it is in the back ground. Peace and happy holidays to you from Stan the Alaskan.
Hello IYOU, how’s the day finding you? From the looks of the location.........the weather is fantastic (on the day of shooting)! This time of year & the Bay Area are by far my favorite place to be when I can visit! Another great musical choice............mixing moderns & classics! Great point about non-extraordinary famous people like Kim & such, famous for what? What’s their contribution? Awesome sunset in the background, contrast nicely with you! 🪐🪐🪐 Stevie is an absolute animal on the guitar, very primal & raw much like mother nature! I get this earthiness from his playing, off the cuff & just instinctual. There’s this energy that bleeds from his fingers that really comes across in this performance. The other thing about SRV is that he really finds ways the express himself on the guitar! At times it’s blissful, sorrowful, angry, happy & even sexual, similar to Jimi. Ironically I’m not a huge fan of either guitarist but I really enjoy, appreciate & respect the desire to convey feelings from the soul through the music. 🎸🔥 P.S. Cool jean jacket as well as the killer leather one you often wear! You got style kid!!! Boom! 💥💥💥
Now you need to experience the other side of Stevie, try Pride and Joy, Mary had a little lamb, or you could throw it all in and try Life by the drop. To have lost this man was undesirably sad. A great piece of music died that day
An incredible fact: Stevie Ray Vaughan's first big break in the mainstream was as the lead guitarist on David Bowie's album Let's Dance in 1983. He did an incredible job on that record, and I think if nothing else, you'd love his playing. The album versions of China Girl or Cat People (Putting Out Fire) would be great for you. Criminal World has a phenomenal solo, though it's a lesser-known song. It would be really interesting to get your reaction to some of that. Nile Rodgers from the funk band Chic also played on and produced Let's Dance. Historically, it's super cool work.
I heard Clapton describe hearing Let's Dance for the first time while driving and how he pulled over to phone the radio station to find out who was playing guitar. He said he had to know right now, not tomorrow or next week but right now. I only found out that the particular song was Let's Dance recently from another comment on another vid. Makes sense tho. Stevie Ray is the greatest for me by a long way. Others may disagree but I don't care, Stevie is the GOAT
Some else well known and extremely gifted also gave herself to music and to us in her music, Joni Mitchell, a true artist in every sense. Listen to her.
As a native of Austin, Texas, born 1955, IMO Stevie Ray is the embodiment of the Austin music scene, and that's saying a lot. But, like you said, "unique human being", aside from the music- innately "cool" without trying (sorry hipsters in Austin, give up already), inclusive, generous, in sobriety doing outreach to others while onstage, asking everyone to just "love one another". Sigh. I miss SRV, but also what Austin used to be. Thanks for the lovely reaction. SRV love=subscription.
@@catzdollz9810 Just had to get political, didn't you? Maybe you didn't live in Austin in the late 60s, 70s, 80s.....? Maybe you haven't seen SRV jamming with some of his blues heroes, like Albert King, BB King, Johnny Copeland, etc. I believe he said something to the effect, music doesn't see color. Or maybe you're just a victim of current affairs. Or an internet troll. In which case, ya got me, and I apologise to anyone here just enjoying the music. In any case, you obviously don't know what you're opining about, so please leave SRV out of your small minded agenda.
@@helenwilliams7065 What the,HELL does "COLOR" have to do with anything I said ???? In typical COMMIE fashion...you head straight for RACISM. San Fran is a SHITHOLE. full of debauchery and. Demon controlled. A sleezy, slimy place. Austin IS San Fran EAST and everybody KNOWS IT.
i enjoy watching your reactions, thank you for sharing! should check out rude mood/hideaway from Stevie Ray Vaughan, be cool to see a react vid of that or hear what you think of that also. If you want to check out another Jinjer song, i like Tatiana's one take recording of "Judgement and Punishment", she adds some reggae to her mix in that too. She does that whole recording in one take, pretty impressive if you ask me. thank you and have a very happy Holidays!
okay i You i lovet reaction music video the greatest guitar fantastic solo of guitar yeeeeeah very good and very Nice yessss exelent artist congratulations tanks you for vvathing okay bye bye 👌♥️♥️♥️👍😂😘♥️♥️
You need to watch the whole song. All Stevie reaction videos need to be watched and not just listened to. Better appreciation of his playing when you actually watch him play.
Your comments about how some artists can’t live without making their music, that it is part of them, reminded me of the video done by SRV called Cold Shot. Check it out.
We have a hard habit to break here in the south (Amarica) . Everything you said is. ( as right as rain ). Except, 10x more powerful ! Your looks & comments made me subscribe even though I have enough subscriptions to last for a while. But I will make time for you baby ! MONKEYDOC here again!
I think it was your first SRV that you stopped because you wanted to do an original instead of a cover song, this is another Hendrix tune. Great tune though. Love the setting, looks beautiful.
Should definitely check out Stevie Ray Vaughan playing with Jeff Healey who is just a phenomenal guitarist himself . P. S. You gained a new subscriber. Side note you should look into reacting to fellow RU-vidr Anastasia Huppman , "The Barber of Seville "video of hers. And another guitarist and fellow RU-vidr Justin Johnson . P. P. S. You're a sweetheart I hope..... know your channel will do well.
Excellent. I have watched so many guitarist and I play as well.....it is possible, he is the best of all time. I don’t like to say this one is better than that one because they all have a different style and I understand that playing a guitar. However… I have watched him play so many times. His ability is truly one of a kind. OK how about this… If he’s not the best guitarist ever, I don’t know anyone that’s better than him. LOL
