Nope. I say allow them to play. Why? Because I’m from Philly. All I heard during high school was Pittsburgh Central Catholic back in the mid to late 80’s. Then some time after college I moved to Pittsburgh, and all I heard was Oittsburgh Central Catholic. They are private and recruited. No one complained about them this hard. Now, Philly schools are allowed to play PIAA, and no one likes it. I say deal with it.
Why is SJP playing these public schools for public state championship. There has to be enough private schools in PA for them to have a private school state championship… PA figure this out…
I think it's good that they let's all schools compete it gives the students a chance to get notice especially in the public leagues when I played for frankford back in 99-02 we didn't have this opportunity to play for state all we had was the public league. I would of loved to rock against them private school..
There is a private school league in PA, called PAISSA, but they don’t sponsor football. Also, the prep is top 25 nationally and even the #2 ranked PA team doesn’t come close to them.
