I used the Red in my gas generator that I keep for power going out in storms and the fuel has been in it for five years and still works. Still going to replace it with new fuel this year but was very impressed with this product and will be using it again.

I learned the hard way before I found out how important fuel stabilizers are. I had a 2005 Mercury 15 hp Four Stoke out board. The manual never mentioned to drain the fuel from the carb. I do everything to the manuals. It ran terrible the next spring I didn’t realize it was fuel related. I was stupid. Stupid me. I blamed the engine as being fussy. The boat and outboard people should really explain this to new buyers and emphasize this issue. This should be so important that it’s on the cover of the manuals and full pages just dedicated in bright colors so it’s known. So I got rid of the engine and got an 1989 Johnson 2 stroke. Since then I got a pontoon with a 50 Yamaha high thrust with fuel injection. I used Seafoam for years. I’m in Minnesota so Seafoam rules in this state. I’m went with Red Sta- Bil since spring in everything, 2 stroke chainsaw, outboards, and all mowers. It’s working great. Next spring I’m going to use that Amber 360 for ethanol. It must be a great product because it’s sold everywhere. Sta-bil goes along way vs Seafoam. I trust that chemistry guy on the new Sta- bil video. Simple instructions.

I like your comment. The gas in a van given to us one year ago - the van has sat for nearly the entire time ('06 Chev van with 6.0L V8) and the gas tank has not less than a half tank. I have used StaBil red and Pennzoil Synthetic two stroke engine oil in the one gallon gas tank I use for my old Sears two stroke snow blower for TWENTY YEARS. I don't empty the tank after the winter season because I like to crank the motor up every two or three months to run it to lubricate the whole inside of the engine and reseal it. I run it a little rich on the Pennzoil and maybe a little rich on the Red Stabil but she smokes while shes cold and then cleans right up when she gets hot. Sounds like a demented chainsaw blowing the snow. Now,I am thinking of buying a carbuerated Yamaha Star 650 motorcycle that are known for the carbs getting gummed up by ethanol. The Stabil 360 ethanol treatment will go in every tank even if I find some no ethanol gas.

I store 5- 5 gallon cans of gasoline in my shed with the red Sta Bil storage one. I can get about 2 and half years of storage with it. I put blue painters tape on all my gas cans so I can put the date on them when I fill them up. Probably can get longer with it but I will switch it out after 2 and half years by pouring what left in my cars gas tank. I use the gas for my Generator, snow blow and lawn mower.

After adding the recommend amount of product, remember to run the the vehicle(s) for 5 minutes so the entire fuel system is protected. There are also a few other factors to consider for storage: Remember to use fresh fuel. A fuel stabilizer will only keep the fuel fresh at the current start it is at (no product will make bad gas fresh again). Ethanol blended fuels can begin to break down around 30 days (and non-ethanol is around 90 days). And store the vehicle(s) with a full tank of fuel (about 95% full) - this will limit the amount of air and moisture in the fuel tank. Because of the pandemic my industry is in temporary shut down, I'm on unemployment so I had to make some personal budget cost cutting decisions in order to get through this rough time. I decided to switch my car to parked car insurance, and move it to the parking pad (living through winter in northern Canada). I've purchased the Sta-Bil Storage and a MOTOPOWER trickle charger. I plan to turn the engine on for 5 minutes and roll the car forward and back on the parking pad for the tires every few days. Does anyone have any other advice I can follow? Hey, I have to store my cars for months when I travel or vacation - 1) Use Marine 360 (it's a better version of the regular 360, lasts twice as long) and fill up on PREMIUM gas only (from Shell, Chevron or Costco - they have no Ethanol in their premium so you don't have to worry about water forming or damage ethanol causes, also get more detergents and stabilizers in it). 2) A battery trickle charger is a great tool, I would also disconnect the battery cables to prevent parasitic draining (just place them back, tighten back down very easy). 3) Check all your fluid levels (except for brake fluid, unless it's below Min). Check for any leaks, coolant level, 4) Jack the car up and place the frame on 4 jackstands (first do the front 2, then the rear 2). This takes care of the tire issues so they won't get flatspots and crack out in the sun, as well as taking the load off the struts/springs. You can also use something like "Dry Coat" to spray down the brake rotors as they'll likely rust quickly (or be sure to turn the car on every few days, have the wheels spin a bit and use brakes to clear off any surface rust 5) Get Silicone Lube Spray and Grease, lubricate areas that your manual indicated (especially rubber parts!)... Spray or grease the weatherstripping to keep it from degrading/shrinking/cracking and prevent water getting in. Other than that get a sun shade panel for the front and rear windows and washer he car, then apply a good wax to protect the paint as well and consider a car covert. Doing this you'll never have an issue.

I have a new John Deere riding mower coming tomorrow. Typically I would run the tank and the carburetor dry for the winter. The dealer tells me at the last mowing to top the gas tank up completely to illuminate condensation then add 360 in it, which would be circulated through the carburetor. Would there be any harm in adding extra 360 over the recommended amount such as may be double?
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand Год назад
There will be no harm by adding extra of STA-BIL 360 Protection. And yes - you can top the tank at the end of the season to help eliminate the amount of mositure and condensation in the fuel tank (make sure to run the mower for a few minutes so the product gets into the entire fuel system). Lastly, there are fuel system cleaners in the product as well so you can use throughout the mowing season so you don't have to wait till the last mowing to use 360 Protection. Let us know if you have any other questions. Have fun with the new riding lawn mower!

I have a ram truck with the 6.4 hemi. It runs somuch better on ethanol free gas. I generally get 1-2 mpg better just running ethanol free gas. If I add the stabil 360 directly into the tank will it make the standard pump gas act like ethanol feee gas? Or is that not made for what I’m explaining?
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand 7 месяцев назад
In general cars will feel like they run better with ethanol free fuel as compared to ethanol blended fuels due to the fact when ethanol is introduced you lose a certain amount of "energy" due to the alcohol in the fuel. Our 360 Protection will not change the properties of ethanol blended fuels. It is acted to reduce the negative effects it could have on an engine like corrosion due to water and stabilizing it in tanks that don't get fresh fuel within 30 days or so. You will see MPG gains using our 360 product as it does contain PEA fuel system cleaners as well, which would be the largest benefit to you it seems.

I keep 3, 5-gal containers of fuel in my garage all the time but cycle them through our SUV about every 3-4 months. I live in Florida and the containers are preparation for a hurricane emergency where gas might become unavailable. I cycle them so the gas doesn't go bad. I could see a scenario where the gas might have to sit for more than 4 months. Our garage is hot and humid - it's South Florida. The gas is usually 10% Ethanol, I fill the cans to the top and keep them air tight. With all that going on, which Sta-Bil product would you recommend, if any. I would also like to keep some Sta-Bil in my emergency pantry (inside the house) for a potential SHTF event that lasts considerable longer than 1 year (there's a little prepper in me). Thanks for any tips.

Hi Mike, I've used STA-BIL storage for years along with ethanol free fuel to power all my small engines with great results ( I used it every time I filled up, not just for storage). However, the ultimate test will be in the following years since legislation require all fuel sold in Canada to contain ethanol as of 2022. The instructions state that 30 ml of the product treats up to 9.5 l of fuel which suggests that you might want to use more. Can I double the dose and use 60 ml to treat 9.5 l of fuel ? Might there be any harm in doing so ? Thanks for the informative video

What would be the best stabilizer for a motorcycle (not sure about the tank material) that is kept as an art piece but it would be started once a month or so? (But no riding just idling) just to prevent the issues with the ethanol and moisture/corrosion? Stabil storage or 360? Also is it better to just put a bit of treated gas in the tank (and add when needed) or fill the whole tank with the treated fuel? In the video your expert says that the storage should be put directly in the fuel tank and the 360 in the gas can for small equipment. So in my case the good one is the “storage” would you put it in the gas can and mix it or directly in the tank? Thanks
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand 11 месяцев назад
If you're going through a tank of fuel during a calendar year, 360 will work for your needs. It has PEA fuel system cleaners in it as well. If you won't go through a tank of fuel in a year, Red STA-BIL STORAGE will keep that fuel fresh for 24 months. Storage will stabilize the fuel longer and prevent corrosion, but doesn't have the fuel system cleaners that 360 does. As far as delivery, if you use the same gas can of fuel treated with 360 on fill-up, you can use that to top off as needed. If you're mixing in untreated fuel, it's better to just run all the treated fuel through the tank, then add a fresh treatment during refueling to ensure all the fuel is treated properly. The "in-the-tank vs. the gas can" comment was mainly based on OPE usage. You really can do either for any application, but it's important to treat on fill-up either way. You can't make bad gas new again. Hope this helps!

I have air cooled Porsche vehicles rarely drive and I put in ethanol-free fuel in them -- is the storage good for that?
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand Год назад
Yes, both products can be used with ethanol-free fuel. If you are storing long term (up to 2 years), we recommend STA-BIL Storage. For in season use we recommend 360 Protection, which has P.E.A. fuel system cleaners. (and will also stabilize fuel up to 1 year if your vehicle has to sit for a period of time) . So if you are storing less than a year, we would recommend the 360 Protection for your Porsche. Hope this helps!

@STABILBrand 2 года назад
You're good to go! Along with its fuel system cleaning benefits, STA-BIL 360 Protection is also designed to be used as a fuel stabilizer. 360 keeps fuel fresh for 12 months. Red STA-BIL Storage keeps fuel fresh for 24 months for reference. Use whichever works for what you need. Hope this helps.

I was expecting the amber to work better lower grade fuels that have ethanol added, but it sounds like it doesn't. Is amber a competitor for STP?
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand 7 месяцев назад
STA-BIL Storage and 360 can be used in non-ethanol and ethanol blended fuels. If you are looking to store long term (over 12 months) we recommend STA-BIL Storage, which keeps fuel fresh up to 24 months. If you are storing under 12 months, we recommend STA-BIL 360 Protection, which is an in-season complete fuel system cleaner (with PEA fuel system cleaners) that can be used year-round and will keep fuel fresh up to 12 months. And yes they are a competitor. Hope this helps!

My gas tends to get gummy and crystallize in the carburetor when I use this stabilizer. Should I be draining the carburetor anyway even when using this product?
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand Год назад
The gumminess in a carburetor is usually caused by the ethanol blended in the fuel absorbing water. Ethanol absorbs water and can cause a gummy varnish on internal fuel system components. Using a treatment year-round is key in preventing this to help remove water and avoid gum and varnish.

What if i want to test a generator once a month, but need to store the fuel in a 5 gallon tank? Is it just best to use the red version?
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand 8 месяцев назад
STA-BIL Storage (Red) will keep fuel fresh up to 24 months. STA-BIL 360 Protection (Amber) will keep fuel fresh up to 12 months. So for your situation it depends on how long you will be storing the fuel. And if you run the equipment from time to time, that fuel will still be protected. Hope this helps!

Is there any benefit to using both or is this not recommended? (for car storage over winter)
@STABILBrand
@STABILBrand 8 месяцев назад
For just storing a car over a few months, we recommend STA-BIL 360 Protection (keeps fuel fresh up to 12 months), but this can also be used year-round as the product contains PEA fuel system cleaners and prevents corrosion caused by moisture from ethanol-blended fuels. If you need to store over 12 months, we then recommend STA-BIL Storage fuel stabilizer, which keeps fuel fresh up to 24 months.

If I understand your video, the red product is used for storage, and the amber product is used for ethanol fuels and daily use. So, a few questions- The amber product is not best for long term storage, correct? The amber product says to use specifically for ethanol. So I assume the red is is not the best choice for ethanol fuel? What would be the best choice for both ethanol fuel AND long term storage? And finally, how does the blue/green product factor into the equation, beside the fact that it indicates for marine use? Is the blue/green product best for storage or daily use? Thanks in advance.
