I'm glad to see this channel being used to highlight things in the Letterman vault. The Late Show had so many, SO many magical and historical moments that shouldn't be lost to time.

Everything about Bailey the dog that played dead was perfect. The owner was just this nice, unassuming guy. The trick was flawless and unexpected. And Dave's genuine joy at it, with his laugh that kept growing was awesome. Bailey, I hope you're getting lots of treats over that rainbow bridge.

Outstanding. Stupid pet/human tricks, and all the other human interest stories Letterman and Company told was a hallmark of the show.

Thanks Ryan! Segments like these were what made the show so great. I think your "Favorite Moments" explains the show perfectly. Sincere thanks once again for your work. The Beastie Boys subway performance was a real technical achievement. It's amazing they sent the audio, from the stage, literally underground and ½ a block away. The Beastie Boys stayed in sync with it for the whole trip and their microphones never cut out either. I can't walk to the other side of my house without my cell phone call dropping. The wine bottle rollerblader was another achievement in audio recording. I think The Late Show had most of its section of 53rd st. wired for sound. Really amazing.

what a fabulous collection of memories that totally makes me want to share something from my life...I had the pleasure of being in the audience for one of the Elvises, Justin Shandor, when he performed with our local symphony orchestra a few years ago and he was by god the best damn thing I'd ever seen. The next year it was a Beatles tribute band joining the orchestra and I got to do an Ed Sullivan impersonation to introduce them in the manner of their performance on The Ed Sullivan Show. How's that for a connection!!! AND...I just scored some tickets to see The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in two weeks!!! Ed Sullivan and Dave for the win!

The Elvis bit reminds me of Edison Peña, the Chilean miner. I don’t know who booked him but he was probably my all-time favorite “person who did something.” When Peña started singing “I’m caught in a trap…” and Letterman caught the Elvis reference… I think my heart grew by a few sizes.

The guy playing music with rolleblades spines and bottles is michel lauziere, a french canadian comedian who actually made a couple of appearances on the show, he's still performing these funny stunts all around the world

David Letterman and Johnny Carson could both have really great interviews with non-celebrities. Must have been there midwestern sensibilities.

To anyone who hasn’t seen them, I’d recommend watching the clips from Elvis week. I’m not even a big Elvis fan but each ‘Elvis’ was great. I can see why Dave specifically wanted to thank Ryan for pulling it all together.

I remember Dave driving the cupcake and smashing into the tree. The toy lady always seemed so together, then would laugh hilariously at the insanity or mayhem Dave inflicted on all her educational efforts.

For the first 15 years-or-so, there had never been anyone on TV like David Letterman. But overnight, he became just another bland nobody. Maybe he wanted to be a nobody. Maybe that's who he always was deep down. It was too bad, but hey, he just did what he felt would enable him to keep his job and keep the money rolling in. :D
