The co-hosting is great stuff, it's my favorite way for these big final matches. Missed them a lot from CA's everchosen streams. Follow Lich! RU-vid.com/@Tactical_Lich
Talons of the Night does Pit of Shades damage per tick (5AP or 8AP overcast) with 2 fewer seconds of duration (the damage on the vortex is 11 seconds even though the spell duration is 13 seconds) and 3 more WoM cost. That then gets cut down by 35% from the spell resistance of dwarfs to be 3 or 5 damage per second. It may also grant more stagger phase immunity. Even if it doesn't, Slayers have 78 hp / model and Dwarf Warriors have 108 hp / model. the most it could possibly do would be 33 or 55 overcast. *Edit: It seems he has access to both Comet and Talons of the Night as a dragon. When he is a dragon, he gains the Lore Selection toggle that Mannfred has. I'm tempted to say Blossom Wind would have been a better spell if only for the Blinded effect.
Ok.. I have to say something. Game 2 is the reason why Land battles should be DEAD. Over. Cathay player broke attacking rules several times and was such a slog match, nobody wants to watch this type of game. That's the reason conquest mode exists. I honestly think you should switch permanently. Ok, so you want to just run around and kite.. great, enjoy your loss. YES I am fully aware that it will make meta more infantry based, but that is not a bad thing. After all, that's how it was in the tabletop. You could not just sit around and kite endlessly, you had objectives. I think you should switch. Game 2 poster reason why. Just my 2 cents.
Eh, in conquest DW would win this due to timer. Do we really want to encourage full meele infantry blobs? If anything this replay shows that DW have a problem balance wise in both LB and Conquest. And Thorek, Dragonslayer as well as Bolt Throwers and Gyros need nerfs. Cause a full meele DW blob should NOT be a viable strat in any way shape or form, if a meele blob that demands no micro is a viable strat, that is nothing more than proof that CA have failed at balancing/faction design somewhere along the way.
