I love how Trollworthy the 'I want the Zone to disappear' ending is. "Oh wow, I got the good ending, sweet snickerdoodles, oh shit I'm blind nevermind."
If he went to the wish granter without talking to the Doc and asked "i want to kill Strelok", that might have been the only time the wish granter gave him exactly what he asked for
@@v-trigger6137 You, The Player, ARE Strelok. You can figure this out by watching the dream sequences very closely. And if you do choose to visit Doc at Strelok and company's hideout than he will pretty much confirm that you are Strelok. If you want more explanation on how you lost your memory and ended up in Sidorovich's trading post I suggest you simply watch a walkthrough of the end of the game where almost everything is explained.
"I have over 350K roubles, every armor, every gun, truckloads of ammo. There is nothing more I could need to buy, and I'm by far the richest person in the zone. I get a wish? Anything I want? I know, I want to be rich!"
I like how he talks and approaches the Monolith differently. When he wishes to be rich, he yells and commands it. When he wishes for immortality, he looks slightly arrogant. When he wishes for the Zone to disappear, it looks like he pleads with it.
Yes. The English translation is radically different from the Russian one. "Humanity is corrupt. Mankind must be controlled". "Человечество неисправимо. Оно должно быть уничтожено" Who stutters about control here?
What makes you assume I'm a child? Also I rarely ever use the word, it happened to fit best in this instance. Even so, I regret saying it because the endings were entertaining enough to watch. I just think that the monkey's paw twist endings have been done so many times over that they've just become a cliche at this point. Just my opinion though man, you do you.
Teetoh Alright man, I'll give you that. Can't tell the tones alone when someone types, too many instances where people use "edgie" to show how superior they are toward the topic of choice that it itself is cringe. Anyway, take it easy and have a good one.
Funny thing is, my first play through of this game, I couldn't find the Monolith/Wish-Granter, but found the 'hidden' door like it was nothing. I had to actually work kinda hard just to get the bad endings.
Just finished the game and it was exactly the same for me. i thought there was only one way to go and didnt thought much about which direction i was heading^^
Ghdf The game almost feel designed to give bad endings to people who were either impatient or screwed up the main story somehow. My second play took me... jeez, about twenty-five hours.
@@SlamifiedBuddafied Or for people who had no other choice. I had like only 5 medikits and 3 bandages and the radiation was killing me really quickly so whenever I found this room where it said "find the wish-granter" I went there and did it. I was afraid that I would lose my medikits if I go further and I won't have anything to heal myself. I didn't want to be in a dead end. Also I didn't even realise that wish granter was a bad ending even though I followed the main plot very clearly. Maybe I was just stressed and angry on the final chapter because I died REALLY many times in Sarcophagus hah
@@MultiKamil97 If you get past the Wishgranter, the game goes from hard to straight fucked. Enemies weapons are powerful as can be, they become well armored and in greater numbers. So the true ending seems for those who really managed themselves well over the journey. Then again, I near autistically played this game the first time too.
@@SlamifiedBuddafied Maybe I will try to do a good ending someday because I got a little better after that because first I played SoC, then CoP and Clear Sky. Not really in order but whatever hah So going through these 3 games in row I learnt a lot about how to play S.T.AL.K.E.R. It doesn't change the fact though that this game is bloody hard xD I suppose that trying to get a good ending will be a real pain in the ass but I feel like doing it one day.
It will only if you use some bugs and mods and talk to doctor in Strelok's place. Not just listen to him, but talk by pressing the talk button. Then you can find some half cut dialogues.
So apparently, if our character in the game is Strelok, does that it would make sense as an ending to drop a grenade at our feet as soon as we get one, therefore completing the contract by killing ourselves?
How to get those endings: Apocolypse: you need to get a bad reputation Zone Dissaperred: Get a very good reputation Rich: Get a 50 000 RU Immortality: Skip some missions like X-18 and 16 Rule the world: Kill Lukash and Vornin Monolith Control: talk to the professor and go to C-Coussiness Good Ending: You need to go to teleport in Chernobyl NPP That*s it!
ok, here some explanations of the Monolith's false endings (how i seen them): 1) "wanna be rich". Strelok hallucinates that scrap metal falling on him is gold, and died under the rubble. quite obvious; 2) "wanna be immortal". Monolith turn Strelok into metal statue. so now he will be immortal; 3) "wanna rule the world". Monolith absorbs Strelok. i guess it means that Monolith already controll the world, and now Strelok too, as a part of Monolith; 4) "Humanity must be controlled". I think, Monolith turn Strelok into Controller (monster); 5) "i want Zone to dissapear". Monolith makes Strelok blind, so Zone is disspear from Strelok's eyes. am i right?
Number 1 can teach us a lot: Strelok was destroyed by his own greed. Number 4 makes Strelok the humanity itself, since humanity just stopped existing (because in the Russian version Strelok says ''destroyed'').
@Omne Obstat I think controlled is a mistranslation as destroyed in the Russian meaning is much more powerful, as he could have caused it or have seen the fate of humanity, and is doomed to wonder.
The "I want the zone to disappear" Is a fantastic ending (even if it isn't a good one) is beautifully metaphoric (not the most in the game but still) what a brilliant game! gonna have to go back to the series :)
It is a good ending, and a gruesome one...to make all the misery in the world dissapear, just shut your eyes. I think this is the closest to the ending in the book...where the wish "Happiness for all, free, and no one will go away unsatisfied!" got you shredded to pieces. But what the protagonist wished for after that really makes it special.
I also get that ending :D What depends on getting which endings? I know that the first shown here is when the player has over 50000 rubles. What's with the other?
* "Rule the world": killed the leaders of both Duty and Freedom, have less than 50,000 RU * "Zone to disappear: less than 50,000 RU, do not kill both leaders, excellent morality * * "Mankind is corrupt": same as above, but terrible morality * "I want immortality:" None of the above, just be mediocre, basically. ** As the comments here point out, it would be fun if failing to find out who you really are and being mediocre (alternatively, doing every single quest in the game besides that one) got you "I want to kill Strelok", at which point Wish Granter does exactly what it was asked to do.
last ending is the best: those fuckers had it coming messing with everybody; and their offer is a joke, coming only when they have no escape and after brainwashing and trying to kill you a bazillion times.
I love the “I want the zone to disappear” ending so much, because you can tell this is the same strelok who would risk it all to put an end to the misery in the zone caused by mad scientists but all he’s missing is the clues that would lead him to the c-consciousness. It’s sad watching him rejoice for a moment, almost mirroring the true ending. It’s still easily the best ending out of all the wish granter endings, and the only slightly good ending.
Hahaha nice. You know, with all the mass effect poops, skyrim poops, sonic poops, etc, etc.... I am seriously surprised no ones made a stalker poop. that would fit one perfectly. XD
The endings of the game are so realistic and well placed. I mean from all these money he becomes greedy and wants more, which is the same as in real life, the one with the immortality too. Statues are made by heroes or memorable people which makes them immortal. When he wants to rule the world, he wants to play God but the wish granter doesn't allow it. The one with the humanity being corrupt, the wish granter is showing him, that they already are. The one with the zone, disappears only for him because he cannot see it anymore since he is blind. The other 2 they are the true endings who are self explanatory. Btw i love how in the cutscene the puller of the AK is from the right side.
The ruling ending is an irony because he is joined with the C-conciousness that wants to control the world, the evil ending (bad rep) could also be humanity getting destroyed (Russian translation) and Strelok is the last person alive and likely also controlled by C-C, and the zone disappears for him because he probably is as controlled as a monolith soldier
The wish granter is just a trap. It's existed only to kill those who came that far to the center of the zone. If you don't join the C-C and don't make any wishes - you will end with killing the C-C and the zone will be opened. Which means there is not any more obstakles on the way to the center of the zone, like the brain scorcher or the C-C itself with it's wish granter.
Norfigrim bitch please, I love Gothic but it's story is shieeet. It's simple and ordinary fanthasy story, nothing deep, nothing that interesting, no comparison with Stalker. Like even wtf dude?!
The rule the world ending is very existential I believe what happened was, the monolith absorbed strelok into itself or the c-counciousness because eventually the zone WILL rule the world as it gradually spreads further and further out of Chernobyl
Man that wish master was a total Jinn. Totally found a way to corrupt every wish against the player. Was pissed at first since I got the greed ending but now its kind of funny
Laying down in the grass with the sun beating down on you. I always loved that ending cause it was just so simple and satisfying. Strelok had been through hell and back and it had to be nice to just be able to finally rest.
Reading through these comments are hilarious because I had many the same thoughts fighting so hard for that bad ending--yet somehow I knew when Strelok said "I want the zone to disappear" I'd end up blind. Love the guy pissed about the messed up saves with enemies teleporting in behind you too--had the same problem. Worst part after fighting all through that game ending to the Wish Granter was finding out there was a better ending the other way---the way I didn't feel like walking back towards that I thought was just some glitched quest. smh
I never got an ending because I accidentally overwrote and saved my game after entering the last zone with no body armour and no health. Was shithouse :\
Oh man, the spawning {inside walls/ceilings, above you, behind you} enemies when loading a save. Got worse the further I got in the game. -- Where is he?! Who is shooting me??! Ohhhh, he's on top of me, I see!
*After two weeks of raging, finally arrives at the Wish Granter and goes straight for it. *Sits on edge of seat, adrenaline still rushing from previous parts *Waits expectantly to find out about Strelok, what the Marked One's wish will be, and what the ending will be like "I want, to be rich!" *Looks confusedly at the screen *Bolt turns into gold and gold rains from sky *Narrows eyes at the screen *Marked One gets crushed under rubble after all that work *Stares at the screen blankly *Sits back in chair "..." "...THATS FUCKING IT??!!" *Punches nearest object and immediately apologizes "That was cheeki breeki bullshit right there!!!"
the point of the endings are that your actions throughout the game determine what you wish for as it will be reflective of the path you went down (to some degree)
False Ending (Wish Granter): Positive - Blindness Greedy - Died in Derbis Ruler - Disappeared by Monolith's consumption Immortality - Becomes a Metallic Statue Negative - Everything is Darkness True Ending (C-Consiousness) Accept the offer - Joined the Shadow Group, and Doctor Missed Strelok. Reject the offer - Teleports 15 times, destroy the Stasis Tubes. He saw the disappearance of The Zone and slept, but when he woke up it's just an illusion, protagonist actually escaped from the Chernobyl NPP. So he tell the military about the truth and he will sent to Kyiv about the information of the Secret Labs in Chernobyl NPP.
The endings make sense because the wish granter is supposed to be a trap hologram/psy device made by the C-Consciousness, but underneath the hologram is a radioactive pile of the destroyed reactor... So, if you went up to highly radioactive material and wished for something, yes, you will go blind/seize up/go insane/zombify etc.
I kind of thought the C-Consciousness ending was the best ending for everyone involved, to be honest. Think about it. In STALKER Clearsky, it is determined by Clearsky that every emission causes the zone to expand by 5 or so km. The emissions, of course, are proven to be deliberate -- the C-Consciousness was intentionally creating them to try and kill Strelok. The C-Consciousness was in control of the entire zone -- it kept it at bay. Kept it quarantined. By killing the scientists of the C-Consciousness, Strelok removed any control anyone had over the zone. And what happened? Emissions start happening like crazy -- that's why they happen every other day or so in Call of Prypiat, which takes place after the C-Consciousness is killed. Clearsky confirmed that emissions caused the zone to grow. And emissions are happening out of control now. The situation for the zone, and probably the entire world, is more grim than anyone realizes. Unless someone finds a way to somehow stop the emissions, the zone will slowly cover the world.
well according to the intro of COP, i took it as things are bad every where else with no possible explaination while the Zone in particular is where shit is worse, but the indepth story is fucking wierd
Humanity must be controlled: destroys humanity, gives strelok all of our species's knowlodge and leaves him alone in the void. Now being all that is left of humanity and free of any outside influences he is in controll of it. Wish granted
Got the "I want to be rich" ending and then I say "Wtf!? Is that all?" Then remembered I have the decoder for the hidden door. Replayed with one of my old saves right before the wish granter and made my way to the hidden door where you need to solve the Monolith's secret. Declined the offer from the hologram and fought probably hundreds of Monolith soldiers to get the true ending. Going through portals and all of that. Jesus, it was very long and quite hard.
find the decoder, find the hidden room, destroy the blue lights, say you don't want to join c-conscious, fight your way through the portals, and there you go
After finding ghosts body in Yantar (next to a controller mutant) you have to talk to a stalker in a building near the military checkpoint under the bridge at the beginning of the game. He will say to go back to Streloks hideout in the underground complex near the miltary base. The character there will give you an objective marker pointing towards a building in Pripyat where the decoder should be located.
I love how if you go to the Wish Granter you don't get to choose what he actually wishes for, it's based on your actions in the game. I remember the first time around I was too lazy to get the canon ending and went to the Wish Granter instead. Strelok wishes for the zone to disapear and I'm like "Hooray".... then he ends up simply being blind and it's like FUCK
The wish granter is a trap to bring attention away from the c consciousness facility. The wish granter usually grants you the wish you want but in an unpleasant or unexpected manner which shows it corrupts your wish and gives you your wish but not in the way you wanted.
Think about it: this is the very center of the Chernobyl Disaster. Ground fucking zero. And there's Strelok, there he is in the cutscenes, without any kind of gas mask, probably taking in ungodly amounts of radiation. Something to note: when you're on top of the Sarcophagus, and you happen to get near one of the holes in the roof, you get a maxed out dose of radiation, but if you look quick enough, you can see the Wish Granter. However, if you encounter the C-Conciousness and then eventually take a Teleport anomaly up there, the wish granter can't be seen. Conclusions: the wish granter is merely a hallucination brought on by the savage and exhausting trials to getting there. And here's the scariest part. The Zone increases by 5 kilometers every time a wish is made But its not all roses... Strelok doomed the planet when he killed the C-Conciousness.
I always got the decoder endings and i've decided i like the "join c-consciousness" as the good ending, even tho it's not canon coz CoP. I mean, Strelok finally got the full answers he wanted after 3 trips AND the C-Consciousness minds actually saw him as worthy to join them because of his repeated efforts to find out the truth :D and how doc basically says "he hasn't come here in a long time but i know he's alright somehow" was oddly comforting
Really? No one has added timestamps so far? 0:00 I want to be rich 1:17 I want immortality 2:12 I want to rule the world 3:06 Humanity is corrupt, mankind must be controlled 4:23 I want the Zone to disappear 5:25 Joining C-Consciousness 6:23 Destroying C-Consciousness
I really wish I could fly, but I am afraid to ask the Wish granter for that because I am too scared what will he do to me LOL, probably throw me off some building saying: Fly, you fool! (In Gandalf's voice). lel
I was elated when I did the same. It was just the payoff I needed to want to go for the other endings as well. (I’m only here on this video because I wanted to know which ending I got. Still haven’t seen the others)
I love how the "false happy ending" is so little and tells so more. The other one you know you screwed but this one you actually expect a happy ending. And then he becomes blind and has no reaction, just his face.
+Kakkoii Gaijin yes, it depends on that how much money do you have in wallet at ending -> if it ends with "I wanna be rich" -> then you have more than 50 000 or 40 000 RU - IDK how much was that but if you enter with 10 000 or so, there's other ending. Ending also depends on that if you injured military or others that are in zone so if you make friends, game will have better ending.
So, you get sucked out of the Matrix when you wish to become immortal ? I never quite undrrstood if the Wish Granter is a real physical object, just a halucination from the intese radiation or some sort of C-Con Illusion. Its probably a mix of all of the above
The wish granter is a secret goverment project started way before the first explosion of the reactors. This project was about mind control and it was started in the reactors basement becouse only the reactor had enough energy for the project. The thing they built is based on a collective human mind, by connecting humans they improved their psychotic powers. The thing you see as the wish granter is the beacon part of the stucture. All of the false ending are 100% in his mind (I'm not sure about the true endings). If you want to know something else ask
The wish granter/monolith is fake. Either illusion or hallucination (maybe from high radiation) or both. Look at the first cutscene. When it shows it doesn't actually rain gold, there is no Monolith. Only Strelok can see it.
killer21334 Those two I mentioned are considered the true endings, according to the wikia. And the ones where Strelok dies are considered the false endings. Which, sure enough, sounds about right if he makes an appearance later on in CoP. Which also tells me which of the _true_ endings is the actual *canon*. Predictable enough. I'll play CoP for the first time soon enough, just installed it earlier this week; GoG edition.
so thanks for your answers.i;ve recently replayed the whole franchise/trilogy call it whatever you want.So now i am really sure that the ending where strelok destroyes the lab is the true one because if he stayed in the lab and layed on the desk he sure;y wouldn't have been able to make an appearance in Stalker COP,that's my final thought :P
I got the C-Consciousness ending first... What can I say? I thought their reasoning was pretty sound! Of course, I reloaded a save and killed them afterward, getting the canon ending.
The true ending felt so satisfying to me. Just laying down in the grass with the sun on you to rest after all that shit you went through. So satisfying and simple, and completely opposite to all the 'greedy' wishes the Wish Granter tempts you into. The whole mythos the game built up to it with and Doctor explaining "no one survives the Wish Granter" made me very wary of it. Walked around the whole place before ever going near it and discovered, hell, I didn't even need to.
In real life I would of said screw the wishgranter. I knew it would be like a Jeanie and that I would have to be specific as hell. I would of gotten the hell out of the zone. And my dumb ass asked to be rich.
You have to get the decoder earlier in the story and then skip the Wish Granter. Just keep going through the reactor. I have this game Let's Played, so if you need help seeing where to go then you can watch the last part of that.
Back when i first time finished i had to accept the wish granting/joining counciousness project ending, cause everytime after i talked with C-conciousness and dropped at the back of the NPP i had so hardcore fps drop i couldnt play further for a year or two until i got better pc
The true good ending is the reference to the Andrei Tarkovsky's "STALKER" where at one point of the movie, the guide lays down in grass in perfect harmony...
Thanks for posting this. I had experienced the two good endings on my own, and wanted to see what I missed. Glad I took the "good" route. Best ending there was :)
You know, what if the main reason Wish Granter doesn't work properly is because it has no power outside of the Zone? Like, it simply fulfills your wish in the simplest manner it could accomplish with the resources available, while absorbing your trust, of sorts, to expand itself 5 km. What if it was actually capable of doing good stuff, but only when The Zone has spread to encompass (much of) the world? It would be interesting if someone made whatever wish they wanted, like this "I want to do .... and stay alive", to test its morality. Alternatively, go with "I want something good to happen", and see if it manages it without screwing up.
Well, the Monoloith aka Wish granter is just an illusion created by C- consciousness. It doesn't actually make your wish come true. It simply hallucinate you making you believe it did your wish, but in fact it's all an illusion, a trap. There are only 2 true endings in the game, first you realize that the wish granter is just a trap and find out about C-con. and you accept their offer to join to them and you become one of them, another one you refuse and you kill them all thus destroying the Zone and C-consciousness
It probably do something good but not for you. Lol I wouldnt risk it its like wanting to use the one ring in Lord of the rings for good but only bad come of it.
I got 1 question, if the c-con is a bunch of scientists' minds downloaded into a computer, and their bodies died, then who's arms were those that plugged strelok into the computer? yes, even now there are mysteries to these games, I wish stalker 2 wasn't canceled, and I wish people would stop ignoring these awesome games... no, the last statement wasn't for you, wish granter.
Their minds are not downloaded to computer. C-Con. connected their minds to Noosphere( complex topic), but it appears that they can disconnect for a short time and then connect again. One of the scientists helped Strelok to join to Noosphere. I would suggest to read books as it explains more about the story.
Well, you had to fight 20 brainwashed guys or so in that very building to reach the Wish Granter/C-Con, so it's safe to assume if the C-Con wants a pair of arms to upload you, it can easily find one.
After finishing the game for the first time and getting the "good ending" just today, rejecting to help, I can roughly understand what happens if the player chose to rule the world and control humans. Ruling the world is simple since it is already flocking others to it. The conscious can see the potential in the player when he said to control the humans and involuntarily assimilate him.
One of my best moment in my life to play with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I've read the book, I've watched the movie, I've played the game many times! This is my favourite!
I think that the ending where Strelok joins C-consciousness is the best ending OBJECTIVELY, since the Zone will be controlled and contained in the ending which wouldn't in other endings. But, if you were Strelok, you wouldn't choose that ending...
2006 - 2017 I started puzzling the story now. The real truth is that the Common Consciousness is controlled only by one person (they say that they are 7 minds combined but if you go see the capsuls are 8 and Lebedev says he subordinated the other operators, i suppose the other 7 volunteers.) that's why the 8th capsul is the mastermind capsul with Lebedev in it and the zone is controlled by him; Lebedev, he who wanted to reach the Zone to take control of it and study it's nature in S.t.a.l.k.e.r Clear sky. Lebedev after the Clear Sky final emission, was Never seen again. (he survived the emission like Scar did the first 2 emissions in Clear Sky.) Having everybody dead with the emission in the CNPP Zone Lebedev got in the powerplant and kept conducting his faild experiments of 1986 (that's why he had and gave you the secret weapon 'EM1 Rifle' in S.t.a.l.k.e.r Clear Sky, he was part of experimental projects with other 7 operators since 1986 in the CNPP) he worked there as a doctor/scientist, after the second explosion he evently succeeded in taking over the CNPP. In SoC Lebedev (Common Consciousness) tells all the truth to strelok spawning in as a Hologram befor strelok gets to go into the capsul room because he fears of Strelok's knowlage and so he wants to keep him and all the secrets in the CNPP. He fears to be deactivate from Strelok so he asks Strelok to join him. If you decide to join Common Consciousness at the end what you don't see is Strelok opening Lebedev capsul and waking him up. Next you can clearly see Lebedev hands and him in his CNPP old 1986 doctor suit, equal to his hologram, putting the equipment on Strelok, and giving him the master mind capsul and the zone would feed on Strelok, so Lebedev cud be finaly free from the capsul and the Zone that was feeding on him. i think lebedev's goal was to free him self after Clear Sky emission, he didn't want the zone to end so he put him self in the capsul machine to feed the zone and he saw in Strelok the perfect brain substitute so he could conduct further experiments. Strelok was a golden opportunity to free him self caus not many S.t.a.l.k.e.r.s reached the zone after anomalies changed the pathway to the center of the Zone. And whoever went to the wish granther would end feeding their brains to the zone too. But If you decide not to join Common Consciousness, Strelok shoots the master capsul deactivating the zone eventally killing Lebedev that is inside it and stopping the zone from expanding by killing its creator and it's main capsul brain machine. 💯
