@@PeaKock-be I just looked thru the video and you are incorrect. Attack and Release knobs change consistently throughout the entire video. I encourage you to watch it again, and make sure you are looking at the correct knobs.👌🏾
Yea the Stam definitely sounds thicker than the BAE. Been my vocal tracking compressor for over a year now and the BAE doesn't get much use anymore. Thanks for watching!
BAE website says the 500c has a transformer coupled output, so yes it does. I find the Stam to have a little bit more noise than the BAE but not that much. I agree, the Stam sounds a lot more exciting. That's why I use it as my main vocal tracking compressor now over the BAE. Thanks for watching!!
Hey bro, I appreciate your video. I bought the same one and I want to make R&B and pop vocal recordings on hip-hop beats, but I don't know how to set it up for recording. Could you please help me and tell me the best settings for it? If the information is important, I can add that I have a 1073lb and a Babyface Pro FS and a sa-87i Microphone. I love it when my vocals have some color but still sound relatively clean.
Hey bro, thank you so much for watching! So for any 1176 style compressor, you need to figure out what Unity gain is for it. That's where your input and output knobs are positioned in a way that you can put a signal into it without triggering the compression and it is the same volume as the signal without going into the compressor. I might make a video about this topic. I use 4:1 ratio for all vocal styles unless it is aggressive rock vocals which I use 12:1 for. Slowest attack/fastest release, and attack 3/release 5 are two great places to start then adjust from there if needed. Hope this helps! ✌🏾
A little over a month. I pre-ordered towards the end of August, made my final payment around the end of September, then I received it in 4 days after the payment was made. No complaints here!
@@maxaeonmusic You're welcome!! It sounds fantastic! The midrange sizzle you mention actually pairs very well with the TLM103. Adds some oomph to the TLM103 that it's normally missing on its own.
Thank you very much! Yea Stam makes amazing gear. They don't show up on the used market very often so you might have to wait until it's in stock again.
