"Zero's origins most likely date back to the “fertile crescent” of ancient Mesopotamia. Sumerian scribes used spaces to denote absences in number columns as early as 4,000 years ago, but the first recorded use of a zero-like symbol dates to sometime around the third century B.C. in ancient Babylon.;"
A few years ago I read a comment somewhere, someone made a fantastic point but there was a minor misspell. And I thought...... big deal! This person is a great thinker. And if people sometimes mispronounced a word it's because they learned the word by reading it. Be kind to others.❤
I assume the Egyptians didn't have the concept of zero, either? Didn't seem to matter when it came to building the pyramids and other structures. (Although I personally believe it was a civilization before the Egyptians that built them.) 😊
OK when the kids are accused of cheating and there's a big dramatic blow-up over the evil racist administrator's accusations, etc....years later, some of the kids (now adults) came forward and admitted it was true. They WERE cheating and sharing answers.
@@jaimeosbourn3616 it did not mean something of no value; rather, it had a value that symbolized plenitude. The zero, represented by a glyph that can be interpreted as a closed fist or as a shell, symbolized the ending of a cycle and the beginning of another
@@RU-vidallowedmynametobestolen You wouldn't know where to begin simply because you haven't done a damn thing and can't even come up with a lie. Thank you for proving my point.
@@perfect1150 Wow, do you always make such huge assumptions? No wonder you are having such a hard time with life. No one has proven your point, and no one will prove your point because your point can't be proven because it's wrong. But you go right ahead and tell yourself whatever makes you feel good.
@@RU-vidallowedmynametobestolen Hey you're the one who made the comment about "Deliver" being spelled wrong.....pretty sad thing to point out given what the movie was about. Now you're getting all defensive......maybe it was spelled wrong on purpose......but apparently you know everything and are above everyone else so let us all bow down to you.
Yup just terrible. Cared about each student. Met them where they needed to be met to engage them and save them from the reality of the world that wanted them to fail. Should have done what most do now and ignore the problem and socially promote them to the next grade.
