Love my shorty! Changed that grip to a hogue grip, also added a handstop, Kept the foregrip as an option. Filed down the safety on the right side, 20 round drum and pic rail, iron flip sights, flashlight and color fill!!!! Ahhhhhh man so much fun.

I love his reviews. He's not afraid to point out the bad things he notices as well as the good things. Very open and honest reviews. He does his reviews based on his own experiences with the firearm not a paid spokesman for the manufacturer. BTW I love how he "smokes pot" LMAO. You and your son are awesome. Keep it up guys.

If I were to ever spend that much for a home defense shotgun, this would be a reasonable option. I would like it in 20 gauge and with a folding stock. Left side over top or under folder would all be kool. Edit: oh yeah, excellent video and continued diverse content. Thanks for what you all do.

I love Hickok, he isn’t an obnoxious gun owner first of all so he isn’t ever shoving his rights down anyone’s throat. Secondly he provides videos for just about any gun I can think of with the best descriptions & honest opinions on them which isn’t usual since most people would rather build business relationships rather than just being honest. There isn’t much of anything to dislike about his videos unless you just Hate Guns & can’t even stand the sight of them I suppose.

Thanks. We don't have to shove OUR rights down anyone's throat; everybody in THIS country already HAS those same rights. :-) Some do nothing to help protect them, but everybody HAS the same rights, as spelled out clearly in our Constitution / Bill or Rights.

No purpose?? In the average household or small store you could make instant Swiss cheese out of several intruders, and reload instantly. Seems accurate enough for CQB. With a laser it would be dead-on from the hip.

honestly if you cut off a few inches from the barrel, add a folding stock and some proper sights this gun seems promising. shotguns with box magazines just look cool anyway.

Then it would be felonious. The barrel can’t be any shorter without turning it legally into an SBS. And you can’t put a folding stock on an SBS.

I have the SKO-12 and the safety is my only complaint. It will bruise your finger very bad. Other than that they're built well. Hopefully they'll change the design of the safety switch because it's rough on your finger.

It feels like a design flaw to my banana fingers, that's for sure. My friend with smaller hands didn't have an issue though. Would be good to mention that when purchasing, but...what can ya do. Now that I had it trimmed down on one side, I'm loving my SKO Shorty. :)

I removed the right side safety selector and using just the left safety selector. I fastened back the right side screw to cover the visible hole. I also used loctite on both side to make sure the safety selector on the left don’t fall off

Must keep firm grip in order for it to cycle properly...it needs the recoil to cycle , a loose grip lets the rearward push to decrease .

Informative. While I like the concept, with all the failures to feed, and for all the variables needing to be worked through to get consistent shots off, I'm not sure I'd use this shotgun for defensive purposes; i.e., wouldn't want to bet my life on it. Thanks for doing this.

I notice that with many of the semi auto shotguns similar to that like the Vepr 12 and Saiga 12 that birdshot and low recoil rounds sometimes don't cycle great in them.

That is the first of the "modern & tactical" shotguns of late that I find appealing.. Quality made, simple, solid and compact piece of kit.. With a 10-rounder or a drum filled with slugs or buckshot something like this is serious firepower.. With a proper stock and an Aimpoint or a reflex sight on top..

Shooting a semi-auto 12-gauge without a proper buttstock tends to cause jamming by human error.. Since the thing kicks a bit a person shooting tends to keep elbows a bit loose so the kick doesn't fall on bones and joints.. Just like with a powerful handgun.. Causing limpwristing just like mr hickok45 here said. In my opinion a shotgun of any type has to have a proper and fitting buttstock for effective shooting.

I also have had a problem with my index finger jamming up against the safety, to the point where it took some skin off. I took it to a local gun smith and had them grind down the safety on one side and that fixed the issue.

In 6th grade I had a teacher that was a hard, old wench. She was a whip cracker for sure. She was all about history and the medieval times. Showed us slides of how stairwells were built counter clock-wise because everyone was right handed. It was much more difficult to swing a sword when there is no room to swing it. And the defenders can use this as an extreme advantage. Anyways, she pulled this massive broadsword out of the closet. An antique she bought in England or something. That thing was massive! Good luck doing any teaching like that nowadays.

I have the same one but with the shoulder stock. I also have several of the 10 round mags, which are made by SKO. I also had issues with feeding and ejecting the first time firing it. Have not been back to the range to fire it again. I was using 00 buck, Walmart special "Suprema". I also own a Vepr-12 and have 12 round aftermarket mags that had to be modified to get them to work right but have never once had any issues with the Vepr-12 feeding or ejecting, even with different rounds in the same magazine.

Yeah, I've noticed most AR-like shotgun configs that have an ambi-safety dig into the top of the finger really bad. Maybe a lower backstrap would help with that, pretty sure the SKO can use standard AR grips
