1985. A comparison between 2 versions of the top Stanton Epoch II model. The high impedance HZ9S and the low impedance LZ9S. Both have the same line-contact stylus assembly but the LZ9S has low impedance, low output coils that produce a flat, extended frequency response regardless of capacitaqnce loading. The only drawback of the LZ9S is that it requires the use of a moving coil pre-amp or transformer.

Curiously enough I rewatched your videos on the Pickering EP HiFi and the Stanton Epoch a week or two ago, and asked myself how would the HZ and the LZ versions compare. Thanks for the video!

The LZ does sound a bit better, but they're close.
