The older gentleman is their father, Pop Staples. And sweetheart they were called THE STAPLE S-I-N-gers.

The Staples Singers are legends going all the way back to the 1940s. They started out singing gospel and started doing secular music too in the 1960s. Their father Pop Staples was also part of the group as you can see in the picture. They have bangers for days: Be What You Are, I'll Take You There, Respect Yourself, Come Go With Me, Will The Circle Be Unbroken and The Weight ft The Band. Ice Cube sampled Let's Do It Again for his song It Was A Good Day. There is only one surviving member of the Staple Singers left and that's Mavis Staples who is leading this song you're reacting to!

Mavis is the only one thats still alive, everybody else is gone they did have a brother but he also passed.

Don't butcher it for yourself by pausing so much for so long. You lose the feel of the song by doing that. Analyze it after listening to the song all the way through. You'll definitely enjoy songs better that way.
