Two old movies that you will enjoy (comedies) Uptown Saturday Night and Let's Do It Again.Funny as heck.LOL. I LOL at your reaction to this title track song.
I’m not big on reaction videos, but your vids have been warming my heart. I’m Gen Z, but my pops was born in ‘59, so I grew up on all this music. We are big music heads!! Keep discovering these gems!!
Great mid-70s funk - you gotta follow this up with I'll Take You There They shoulda made this the National Anthem - imagine everybody singing along to this each time we win a medal at the Olympics!
Prince had Mavis do a tune with him - she's a legend and part of a legendary family group, The Staple Singers. Many huge hits my young student of music 🔥👍 dive on in. Maybe their biggest hit, "Respect Yourself" should be a national anthem. Other hits - "I'll Take You There," "Are You Ready," "Come Go With Me."
Yes GREAT suggestions. I just heard an old interview with Mavis Staples 2 nights ago. They said Prince loved her like a mom...she used to write him letters about herself so that he could write songs for her that she could relate too. Love it!
Staple Singers were one of the first "gospel" groups to cross over. Their dad, "Pop Staples" could handle that bass guitar. Check them out in the film, "Summer of Soul" produced by Quest Love.
Oh how I miss Pops and that blues guitar. He played a big role in the Civil Rights movement and marched with MLK. Could you plz react to "Respect Yourself" PLEAEEEESE🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The father Roebuck (Pops) started a family gospel singing group. He was close friends with MLK and he asked if the family would sing for a lesser known activist named Jesse Jackson. The had so many great songs and are apart of history.
Believe it or not The Staple Singers had a strong influence on rock music. Mavis Staples had an incredible career, not only was she a wonderful singer but she went on to have a highly successful acting career also.
Hey Buddy..Watch the movie . The Staple singers were a family gospel group first and somehow transitioned to a Pop group with ease in a time that wasn't so easy.. ms Mavis Staple the lead singer is vocal BEAST with her raspy sensual soul and its effortless and beautiful . Go down the Staple Singers rabbit hole...
Let’s Do Again “ is a movie and this is the song to the movie the people on the album cover was in the movie 🍿 😊have to look at the movie it’s really a good movie
This is in the movie that is also called Let’s Do it Again. It’s a classic! You and your brother should check it out! Poitier and Cosby were a great movie duo. They did a couple of movies together in the 70s, including this one.
Wait u need to find a video of this to get the real feeling. I saw them at WattsFest back in 1972 as a teenager. I wish we go back so my kids are are now in their 40's could have experienced a real concert
I know I’m old but does anyone remember seeing the movie with this song in it with Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby with the same name? 70’s. I saw in that the theatre when I was kid.
Please check out Good times video by Chic, what you won’t do for love (video) - Bobby Caldwell. Please check out Scandalous - Prince. These songs are extra 🥶 cold. They’re exceptionally excellent.
THIS SONG, VERY VERY (SEXUAL) IF YOU LISTEN CLOSELY. IT WAS A (BIG) HIT SONG IN THOSE DAYS. I BELIEVE A LOT OF LADIES GOT (PREGNANT) AND A BUNCH OF (BABIES) WERE BORN BECAUSE OF THIS 🎵 SONG. WHAT DO EVERYONE THINK????? TILL NEXT ⏲️ TIME
