STAR CITIZEN - BUILDING A ORIGIN 315P-GT 

Great ship tons of potential, but what do you guys think of the 315p? As always let me know down below!

Here's a long one, ehem: Ah yes the 315p, it was actually the second ship I pledged in the game. As far as the small ships go in my opinion it probably has the most utility of them all, this may shock some citizens so let me explain! Starting with the fuel capacity the average ship around this size has a quantum fuel capacity of 583 to 700. Where as the 315p stores 830 qt fuel, with an industrial qt drive (colossus) gives it a range of 150,000,000 km (leaving a 1,240,000 km reserve) That is pretty far considering the size, the only two ships to exceed this range in this size range are the Anvil Terrapin and Aegis Eclipse, but neither of those have cargo space. Which conveniently leads into the next strong point of this particularly handy ship, the cargo space. Unlike its sister ships the 300i and 325a, lack the 315p's dual retractable cargo bays in the bottom, equaling a total 14 scu of cargo, which far exceeds all other small ships cargo carrying credentials. And as if that wasn't enough it has a tractor beam up front to carry and transport large heavy objects. Not to mention having an ensuite bathroom, and kitchen makes this little ship an all in one home away from home. Its fire power is enough to scare potential predators, however not enough to sustain a 1v1 fight, but this simply does not matter for the 315p having a top speed over 1223 meters per second (2,735miles per hour) it can outrun a mantis at (2,729 miles per hour) all be it just barely, this means if the 315p can leave a quantum trap quickly before the mantis can react and avoid taking fire from any support fighters, a Mantis pilot can NOT catch up and eventually will fall out of range allowing the 315p to QT away to freedom. Also as an explorer/pathfinder vessel the 315p per lore, should have a better scanning/radar suite than the other variants, it's unclear if this is implemented in the game yet. However if this follows cig's trend of giving explorer vessels more powerful radars then it only makes sense that it will, and may spot other craft before they even know its there. Thus the pilot of the 315p has the option to be proactive and avoid other ships. Amongst many other advantages, with the 315p's small size and the ability to fit inside ships like the 890/Merchantman/Polaris/ etc. etc.. It also carries an impressive hydrogen fuel reserve, with Origin's patented own fuel scoop technology, this allows for atmospheric flight feel seemingly endless. After all it is a light explorer vessel, one need not press their imagination too hard to find that its made to go the distance. My single complaint about the ship is its lack of jump seats for extra passengers. It seems to me it should have the ability to at least transport another person or two persons in an adhoc capacity, i.e. maybe two seats that fold down from an interior wall, or the bed folding into a stowed position allowing for two passengers to be seated safely. I say if the tiny C8 Pisces from Anvil Aerospace can fit the life support systems necessary to sustain 3 passengers, so should the much larger Origin Jumpworks 315 Pathfinder. Fantastic video, great quality and enjoyable to watch. The 315p was one of my daily drivers along with the Terrapin, oddly. I traded the sleek 315p into the Nomad the day it came out though. It had double the cargo and could fit a small vehicle while also having a tractor beam, heavier shields and improved firepower were good but I'm no combat monger, and the interior was comparable if much more utilitarian and plain.

A green non-metallic paint option is criminal in its absence. The blue and orange look amazing, just wish there was a deep green, not bright green.

Interesting and nice ship, as for NPC Crew that wont happen for years, that's SQ42, not SC, SC is in essence a MP game, CIG want backers crewing ships, backers spend money.

Ive had a 315P for a while but decided to upgrade recently to the 325A for extra firepower and dark interior. Gotta say, it was a close decision for me between the wood or carbon fiber with the white interior of the 315. Went with wood for a more nautical feel, but carbon with the bucket seat gives off a lovely racing aesthetic

Still one of my favorite daily drivers. Knowing CIG, the 300 series will probably be the only ships with such a deep level of customization for many more years to come, and once we FINALLY get some form of T0 exploration gameplay, I predict the 315p will be one of the better choices for a more solo-oriented explorer.

The Ultramine is actually bugged, it isn't supposed to be so "speckled". I have it on my 350R. Also, all of the coffee cups fell out of all of my 300 ships as well, lol

Ive got the Cutlass Blue as my nipping about ship. Has plenty of storage for boxes and loot and i can also take Bounties alive in it. I think the 300 series ships are great as small options

I've got the 300i as my original pledge from 2013 and upgraded it to the 315p. The only thing I'd say is don't spend money on the components upgrades cause you can buy those all in game.

Love to see these smaller ships getting the love they deserve, lots of the reddit and forums are completely focused on Big PNGs that aren't in the game yet xd. I suppose I am quite an offender to this considering I have some big PNGs, still waiting for my Polaris lmao

I went for the Nomad for a one man zipping around-ship. I thought about a 325 for the size 4 but with a military load out its around the Nomad price. Minus 1 shield and cargo bay for small vehicles and dead hook eh.. mission cargo boxes I mean 😉

how do you customize ships? this is so cool

Did you actually get that custom make in-game? If so, I had no idea that was a thing

And engineering gameplay will effect solo flying of multi crew ships, so good luck with that.

I upgrade my 315p to a 315p-GT but appear to have lost some cargo SCU in the process. Was this your experience?

I'm really impressed with this model, I'm buying one for my friend.

This was my first ship in game: I bought a package and instantly updated to the 315p without even logging in. I decided to melt it after about 6 months due to certain faults that were bugging me: the cargo bays were completely unreliable, causing stuff to fall off, if I need to put in boxes, so I was never using them. The second big problem is that the ship is paper floating, meaning that any gust of wind over Microtech and its moons meant I got stranded and lost the cargo. The weapon rack was also bugged and ate up your guns. In 3.18 PTU I see the Locker is now working and so the weapon rack; hopefully the cargo area has a working gridlock, but the problem with the tendency to be blown off still persist. The ship is also over expensive once you start pimping it up a little and the choices of component, questionable, with either too slow QD or too inefficient for the tanks: If you get above 100$ (Less then you spent pimping the ship) there are better and larger ships to choose from, starting with the Nomad, which for 80$ had double the cargo, same if not better amenities on board and the ability to carry a vehicle or a bike in the back, while still retaining a tractor beam in the back. I currently have a 325a as a loaner for the 600i but I almost never use it. If you are looking for a fast and agile daily driver, the 135c is a better choice, being more agile, spawnable from an outpost, more compact and similar in combat capability, but with "infinite hydrogen" for looking around.
