The new Cutter is pretty fun... I'm happy they made it. In regards to other improvements, Derelict Locations, cargo boxes, force reactions, and overall salvage/scraping are all pretty awesome additions. I was last on a simple transport mission, and suddenly i was interdicted by 4 NPC's. Thankfully I had a strong ship, so I was able to take them on, but it got intense. Eventually they all died, and since they now have "soft death" in the game, I was able to get onto their ship and start looting. It was super cool!! In the end though, all I really care above all else is that the game is stable. Missions, ships, scraping... none of that matters if the game just crashes randomly.
Consistently the best SC videos on RU-vid. Keep it up! 6:12 - this is one of the biggest problems with SC, IMO. There is an over reliance on those emergent elements making SC fun.
It's sad, and nothing against ST or fans, but after 11 years and over $2000 invested I have no more interests in this game. I literally doubt I will be alive when it's released. I am 64, almost 65 and started SC when I was in my 50s. So much for hoping on the hype.
Just give it a little more time. Now that SQ42 is getting polished that means many more working on the PU next year. Lets see how the progress is next year before you give up hope.
Heres my issues with salvaging in the vulture. If i move boxes from my friends ship while in a party they still show up stolen about 50% this last happened 12/22 and the vulture cannot hold enough cargo to make the time it takes to scrape worthwhile. Best of just fracturing 5000 ships until you can afford reclaimer
I think people fret over when this game will release too much instead of just enjoying what’s there now. Sure it’s buggy, but recently it has been in an actually playable state compared to other early access games. There has never been a better time to jump in and play than right now. Sure, the game will improve over time but it’s not like the old days where there was only a few things to see.
2023 was a great yr for this game. Honestly it’s just gotten better and better every single yr which is definitely more than you can say for 98% of AAA releases which gives up on the game after 1 - 5 yrs at the very most. Their team is finally hitting a stride and as soon as that monster of a challenge called replication layer and server meshing is tackled nothing will stand in CIGs way. Then once SQ42 is done and out the door in 3 yrs the entire 800+ staff members will work on soley on SCU and its future systems and features. 2024 bouta be the best year thus far as well! Only true backers and gamers will be worthy!😝
Its cracks me up to see people still.saying "dead game" when not only do cig break funding records every year and since i have been a backer (4 years now and 1200$ invested) cig just keeps plugging away.. is it a fast process? No its rly not but thats bc like 80% if not more were focused on sq42.. now that sq42 is pretty much done all those devs are coming back to develop the pu which i think next year will be absolutely awesome
I think they'll make good progress on a lot of fundamental features with more resources. There will probably be a lot more new stuff coming in - but their focus is on getting the features in, not really keeping those features in good shape. We'll get more stuff, but it's still going to remain just as buggy and frustrating up until the last 12 or so months before an actual release and that's still years away.
This game wasn’t funded in a traditional way nor was it built in the traditional fashion of other games. So it makes sense that it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.
2024 will be even better, assuming they can may work the replication layer as intended. I have no doubt they will figure out how to make it work for good.
The new settlements are pretty much unplayable for me, but I think my laptop is not up to the task anymore, sadly, cuz its not a bad laptop at all, and its a gaming one. Asus Zephyrus g14 2022 model Ryzen 6900hs/ Radeon 6800s with 40gb of ram at 4.6mhz.
40GB of RAM? Sounds like your RAM is not set in dual channel mode. Maybe that is related to the performance issues you’re experiencing? I know with the latest gen12 changes the game is drawing more CPU power and Ryzen performance is generally affected negatively when not running in dual channel or ideal clock speeds.
The hairstyles update feels so silly lol. Last time i actually tried blending my character and choosing a hairstyle, after a few sessions i realized he had lost his hair, his skin color had changed, and the face had gone back to the default.
Would be interesting if u made a video about what tech they want online before its worth fixing/updating older ships "gold standard" 2ndly since we can take big containers out of inventory why can't we do the same with ship weapons and components
Nothing works for me. 90% of my time is spent dealing with bugs, replacing lost stuff or server hoping. 9% is traveling from the hab to asop terminals 1% actual gameplay....
There's loads of valid reasons to dunk on CIG. But "100 systems" is such a bad argument. 100 systems was the goal when a system comprised a handful of textured spheres. The real question/metric is content density - you could have all the gameplay diversity necessary from a fraction of 100 systems when those planets represent thousands of kilometers of gameplay area instead of a backdrop for a loading screen.
