On the SCVR Discord I was hearing different things. Some people where saying that it is stereoscopic. And those same people where saying it isn't. so IDK man.
@@Kazick228vorpx use 3 type of 3d render to force the game into vr: 3d geometry (basically real vr, it render a second image identical to the first one, adjusting the position for the second eye et voilà) but it super heavy, really super heavy; z-3d is an alternative and softer 3d reconstruction which use an algorithm to recreate the second image for the stereoscopic effect, it has a bit of distortion and artifacts but it's totally playable (still a bit heavy) and comparable to real stereoscopic, with just a but of artifacts in that elements that are a bit complicated to understand their real scale position, like hud screens edges or tiny crosshairs; the last one is just the older version of z-3d. the real issue is that star citizen will always smoother your head tracking, even with the smoothness set to 0. this will just make you sick cos things never stays in place and always bobbling around due to micro movements of your head that aren't registered by the game
Vorpx isnt good enough for Star Citizen, wait for an actual VR mod. Its a shame its not Unreal Engine. The only thing I use Vorpx for is Assassins Creed games, its decent with those but its only imersive screen not full VR like most Vorpx games.
Just bought the oculus 2 - I want to plug it into pc - use the pc power and just use the VR head set as a head tracker - Star citizen had a head tracker using a web cam but now there pushing a Track IR thing - more $ to burn for those who have it - if and when VR ever comes to SC it will be for the very high end VR headset I bet - BUT that's a long way - bad enough just playing on keyboard HAAA!
You can use OpenTracker (free, spoofs Tra ck IR) and Ste am VR (it catches your headset movement). There's a video somewhere on this platform here (I can't mention brands because my comment gets auto deleted, lol).
I’ve been struggling to get it to work as advertised for a while now. From what I heard from the SCVR discord is that it’s more than just Vulkan implementation that’s needed. But a lot of work to get VR working.
They need a bit more than vulkan. The inner thought system needs a lot of refinement, not to mention a steady 90 fps at 1080p. Lit if animation transitions need work too.
@@Kazick228 before they implemented anti-cheat (which is kind of pointless on an alpha where they constantly wipe) you could use Vorpx to inject in with with full geometry 3d mode and it was fantastic and worked as expected. After anti cheat, it blocked injection so you can now only use desktop viewer, which has no 3d. Some people have tried using re-shade 3d to split the image, but anti-cheat I believe blocks the depth information so re-shade can't split the image into 3d. I remember hearing about one of the developers within the SC team who is keen to implement VR (as a hack for now) once Vulkan is implemented and was told he is able to as long as it doesn't interfere with his main work.
I have triple screen and the fov on it sucks. Like the sides of the screens are super distorted. I’ve tried some track ir in the past and it wasn’t for me. I don’t feel like dropping the money on the Tobii eye tracker for one game when everything else I play that it works with, also supports VR.
Are you sure you didn't have the settings in Star Citizen disabled? [edited] I actually checked: go to "Settings -> Comms, FoIP and Head Tracking" and make sure the following are set, especially the 3 to 7: 1. Head Tracking - General - Source: TrackIR 2. Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Enabled: Yes 3. Head Tracking - General - Use Position Offsets in Cockpits: Yes 4. Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Disable While Seated: No 5. Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Disable During FPS: No 6. Head Tracking - General - Enable Roll in Seats: Yes 7. Head Tracking - General - Enable Roll in FPS: Yes 8. Head Tracking - General - Hold - Use Device Offset: Yes AFAIR forward, backward, up and down work in FPS. I currently don't have the tracking set up to check. But I'm pretty sure they work in cockpits.
you need to set FOV, resolutions etc. properly.. I probably dont have it set idealy but it is like 1/2-3/4 VR so you have it probably set up even worse but it is not full VR so dont expect it. Im okey with what I have and it is better than full 2D.
I feel ya, I bought vorpx 2 years ago and now suddenly my key is "expired" lol. (I only got it for star citizen). All I can say is: EAC + Vorpx + Lumberyard gaming engine. Ive had easier times with the og playstation VR and raiding in WoW in full VR back in the day before VR was even mainstream. All i want to do is race in vr in sc, how hard could it be 😅 If i ever get it working i'll post back here with results.
