Sorry for being picky but a more correct, more YT friendly title would be "I've found another Starlock to OIS blade adapter, kinda. But will it be any good?"
I get asked about these style of adapters almost daily. The Oslo Makita starlock adapter is no longer sold. After seeing your adapter in my video another company offered to send me on they make, but by the time I got around to saying I was ready for them to send it to me, they stopped making them too... something strange going on... There is defo a market for these if you can perfect them. But be aware... the 2 companies in question have never replied to my emails about why they no longer sell them...
Mmmmm the plot thickens!!!, I’m hoping the testing goes ok with my mk 3 version, I think I need to lend it to a joiner really because I don’t use my multitool enough to give the adhaptor a good test, I’m still putting my money on the problem with making these adhaptors is making the pin connector bit hard enough to make it durable and still make it on a cnc machine and not chew through loads of bits!!, the original makita bit seems to be a forged bit and seems to hold up ok apart from snapping the pins of but I think one of the reasons for that especially on the dtm 50 is the locking pin coming slightly loose and the blades slopping around on the pins and shearing them off!!, the other reason I believe it using really long multitool blades ie them long Bosch ones!, they apparently can damage the pin connector bit, anyway thanks for reaching out and I hope my adhaptor is still working for you, these adhaptors are still in the experimental stage so please let me know if you have any issues, the ones that I’m planning to sell are going to have a full refund if they brake to cover my arse!!! 🤟🤟
Good question sir and the answer is no not at the moment, the adhaptor shown in the video is the cheapest I could make and to be honest it’s a bit of a fail!! The metals to soft and it over heats quite allot 🤟🤟
This is where you go radio silence 🤫,£50 to you, bloody hell you probably say!! I was expecting £25!!! Welllll hang on a minute the machining and calculations for this to work are very complicated and since I can’t manufacture these adhaptors from scratch I make them from already manufactured parts, the adhaptor shown in the video isn’t the one I would sell by the way, this one has a fault which I can’t seem to solve ie it over heats, that said I have a mk 2 version ready to go if you want it 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK hi, I understand what you say and myself do sometimes custom detail work and lot's of time is invested and is somtimes not volued. The issue is we have to add sending charges and import as I am in Spain. Should we rather start talking over email?
I think you need cheque the pins for hardness. They're more important than the plate. Hopefully they're made of different material from the back plate.
