That isn't what I expected but I'm still looking forward. By the way, it has been confirmed that the film will primarily take place in the Prime Timeline. To be precise, in the early 24th century, the lost era. The woman with blue hair in the trailer is the young Rachel Garret, who later becomes captain of the Enterprise C.
We're right there with you on feeling old! I must admit, I actually felt like Discovery leaned a little too hard into the moral side of Star Trek, and was relieved to watch Strange New Worlds as it went back to being a fun adventure romp without getting too hung up on idealistic views!
This should have been called Philippa Georgiou. That's not Section 31. This doesn't even look like Star Trek. Favorite Trek: TOS. TNG. Lower Decks, Voyager, Enterprise, DS9, TOS Animated, Strange New Worlds.
This looks potentially like an amazing vehicle for Michelle Yeoh to really tell a good dramatic, cinematic story just of one character. That wouldn't work for a Star Trek series, but might be perfect for a one off movie.
Completely agree with you - even as a miniseries I think this would struggle to work, but I think as a movie (maybe straight to Paramount Plus but with a limited theatrical run in select theaters for fans) it could be a great time!
