Star Trucker - An AMAZING Trucking Space Game 

I love that demos have been making a come back in recent years.

This game is one beautiful mother-trucker.

The reason I played Elite for so long was FOR space trucking. I am beyond excited for this game.

Anyone remember when FDev said nobody wants ship interiors and all the excuses that came along with that? Could someone point it out to them that these space trucks have interiors, and EVA repairs. ......In the demo. Also this game looks kinda fun.

This game SCREAMS for VR support.

I'm livid at how much more immersive and cohesive it looks than many more "serious" games in the same genre. Like, 40+ years of "space trucking" sims and _this_ is the one that looks to hit everything I've wanted? _THIS ONE?!_

Being a trucker and a lover of space games, I feel directly targeted with this one.

Just to let you know you can actually turn flight assist off, its one of the buttons on the dash and when you do it keeps you going in that direction and speed =).

It's like someone was a fan of that one Cowboy Bebop episode with the truckers, I got very similar vibes from this!

ive been following this Game for like a Year now. im so excited. knowing how popular ATS and ETS2 is, it would be a no brainer to make this Game popular. They just have to make it like ETS2 but in Space. Creating your own Company, choosing what you want to haul, Open World....a man can dream. btw Ant if you read this comment. The Game is called Star Trucker and not Star Truckers like in the Title just a heads up :D

So, Europa Truck Simulator? Great premise, I slightly wish the slight gimmick of them being space big rigs wasn't such a front and centre thing with more believable space freighters being the stars of the show, but hey! Maybe that's for down the line... a nice one to follow.

I'm really excited for this game. Simple premise, but also just looks really comfy to play.

Whats more surprising is that its finally a blue collar space game where it dosnt look like a dystopia, its just another frontier where tradesmen and freight haulers end up, simple as. Hope it keeps that vibe.

I loved the demo, but the choice of American style truck cab may be a deal breaker for me. It makes front visibility absolutely awful - a problem I also had in American Truck Simulator (versus the Euro one)

Such a nice concept and right up my alley - all my cash in Elite has been made from space trucking. Only thing is I'm not a fan of the american style with the signage and truck look. I'd prefer it if it had its own style. But I'll still play it.

2:09 this is because flight assists are on ^^ You can turn them off by clicking on the triangle button in the middle of the dash. The lack of strafe makes it quit challenging imo.

I was that guy in elite where all i did was trading and smuggling, so i really loved the demo. So waiting for the full release

Oh lord this game comes to Xbox TOMORROW! Can’t believe I just found out about it!

Demo was interesting, but the controls are awful. No joystick support, not even being able to remap key, or at the very least offer "set thrust" button, so I don't have to push spacebar all the time. And no 6DOF movement feels weird for a space game, but that is something I could live with, if the controls supported joystick and wouldn't be this bad. I really hope they can fix that before launch.

This looks better than Star Citizen.

Maybe they'll bring in Deep Purple for a soundtrack.

I played the crap out of a game called Frontier Pilot Simulator which had a similar idea but isolated to a planet. This is exactly what i wanted.

I've tried this game and the controls just feel awful. Uninstalled before ever grabbing my first load to haul.

demo is super cool, but they absolutely need to add travel on the up and down axis. You can't have any space sim without that movement. Other than that i loved the demo.

Get rid of the truck models and provide actual space craft, I'm all in. The ship having the body of a big rig in space takes me out of the game.

as a truck-driver IRL, I find the premise of the game interesting. I gotta say that not having to worry about flat tires and blowing coolant lines is a bonus; I just couldn't imagine having to call out a tech to repair my gravity generator or power drive coupling though...LOL.

Looks like a fun game, I could see myself killing some time with this.

Im SO excited for this game. I dreamed of a game like this for a long time. The demo was too damn short

I suffocated when I played.

This game has no business being as enjoyable as it is and obviously has the potential for. It's one of those demos that leave you wanting more which is a good metric for "buy" in my opinion.

I want to get the full version of the game but I also want upgrades, different trucks, you know. stuff we can spend our money on and make life easier as we continue playing. I like to even armor our trucks, add a truck sheields to help out before breaking the hull. Even with the ultimate truck, you will need it as some areas of space is extra dangerous with high grave field requiring more engine power, heavy debrie field requiring shields, etc. Anyways, Demo is cool but like to see the full game.

Obsidian, first off love your videos, great insight But I felt I wanted to point out the truck does indeed have flight assist enabled by default You can turn it off with the triangular button between the light switches just below your speedometer

I saw an ad for this on something and immediately had to check it out. Found your review, and wanted to say I love your content throughout the years keeping us grounded on the latest changes to our old and new favorite space games!

This game is definitely a lot of fun. My wallet is waiting for it.

It does frustrate me that a team of TWO can build this gorgeous and VERY great game but a team of TWO THOUSAND and FIVE HUNDRED MILLION US DOLLARS can't stablize star citizen in 15 years

I tried the demo and I didn't like a few things, which is why I won't play it: - engine and graphics - unity... graphics are old and cartoonish. - physics of a truck in space, not a spaceship: no vertical and horizontal side engines - take off up/down/sideways movement) - concept - space highways in the form of American highway numbers and dollar currency. fly along them or you will break your ship on space junk. Maybe someday someone will make great game about like "Millennium Falcon" (Star Wars) ship. Where you will be in the role of a mercenary, like Han Solo. Who can engage in legal and illegal business hauling cargo and some quests, manual repair of the ship and at stations, realistic controls, navigation for hyper-jumps and their long charging, manual loading of cargo, large space cities with girls, alcohol and blackjack for money. Dangers and adventure in deep space. And not this is all they do now in the games :)

This looks so bad ass! It looks like almost the perfect game for me! Really what I’d like is something like Elite Dangerous that’s more Elite and less Dangerous. I want to live a boring, mundane space life where there isn’t a troll or serial killer behind every corner. It’s fine to have space be dangerous, because it is, but I don’t need universal combat everywhere I turn. Let that show up in very narrow, specific kinds of scenarios that you can mostly pretty easily predict and just avoid if it’s not your thing. I want to have fun being boring!

This is my #1 game from the current NextFest demos. Real suprise and straighgt on my wish list. Wish it had coop so I could go space trucking with my son but I know I'm going to be losing many hours on this game on my own regardless :) Only issue I really had in the demo was finding the external camera (the general 3rd person rear view) to be weird to use. Truck was way too high on the screen for me and I'd like a more GTA vehicle angle for general flying.

This game wants to be trucker sim in space but it's just set of poorly fitting elements. If i want to ride on truck i wil play ETS2/ATS. If i want a space hauling game i will play X4 or Elite.

The separation of money from XP in this type of game is superfluous. If a mission's money reward depends on how well you have performed it, the total money accumulated through successful and careful conduct should reflect experience progression. The better you perform, the sooner you are able to unlock new skills. Two numerics for that are entirely unnecessary. Total money earned thus far should be your "XP" and instead of levels, new skill points could be awarded at an arbitrary stepping of earned money.
