Whoa, this is actually really well done. You captured the spirit of Johnny Williams' original intent, but adapted it just the way an early '90s NES composer (with C64 influences) would. And orchestra hit samples, nice touch.
speaking of bullet hell, i am actually making a level on a game where this thing plays. the enemy has a fire cannon arm, and occaisionally shoots it. he is a barbaric sheep warlord who likes to manipulate entire empires against each other. he is an extremist, so he combines his tech with unstable artifacts his sheep soldiers find while on excavations.

My Star Wars Pokemon team. Anakin Skywalker Ability: Pure Instincts (Speed increases in proportion to health decrease.) Moves: Frontal Assault: This move has a high critical hit ratio. Expert Pilot: Anakin's evasion increases. Anger Surge: Anakin strikes last but Anakin's defense and special defense fall with attack and special attack sharply increasing at beginning of turn. Force Crush: This move has a 20% chance to paralyze. Han Solo Ability: Expert Shot (Han's accuracy cannot be lowered) First Shot: If this is used at beginning of turn, move is twice as powerful. Saber throw: This attack has 50% accuracy, but burns sharply reduces defense and speed if successful. Silent Vigilance: Darth Maul increases his critical hit ratio. Grand Moff Tarkin: Ability: Intimidate: (Enemy attack is cut in half when brought into battle.) Blaster shot: No additional effects. Power play: Attack sharply increases. Confidence gain: Defense increases on a selected target. Crippling blow: Target is confused.
Kinda odd hearing two different eras of chiptunes layered like this. Lead harmony/melody is in true 8-bit NES-like synth, but the background uses a lot of 16-bit-sounding effects, particularly the "steel drum" noise.
I read up a bit, and realized that with Famitracker you can use a lot of the Famicom-only expansions that we're just not used to hearing. Pretty neat to hear it all put to good use, though it's notable that it would be next to impossible to have multiple expansion chips (Such as VRC6 + MMC5 + Disk System) occurring simultaneously on real hardware... Unless you had an amazing custom cart! :3
+Draccyness This doesn't even use any expansion chips! All the 16-bit noises are using the NES' sample channel, which was used for things like Sunsoft's bass and the occasional orchestra hit. This is all vanilla NES.
Orchestra hit! That's the tone I kept thinking couldn't be NES. I never noticed those on the noise channel, but of course they would be possible. Pretty neat though.
Yeah, it's super neat! The title theme to Fester's Quest is an unmodified NES track that has a really similar use of the sample track. It wasn't used often but it could be used for some really neat stuff

Tantrum: this makes kylo slice first 3 to 6 times letting his rage out on his opponent, dealing high damage

Wow. Kinda surprised me when I opened the FTM file and I realised you didn't use any expansion chips. That's even more respectable. Good... good... I totally see this music being in a fast paced turn based Star Wars RPG for NES.

@@Mypetdalek The thing to bear in mind is that this was the Jedi at their peak, highly developed, extremely intensely trained force abilities combined with rote memorization of seven different fighting styles. There were things that could have been better, but it's good to bear in mind that it would look choreographed no matter what due to the intense training they underwent.

The fury of maul The level begins, the enemy ignites a dual bladed lightsaber, you and party member quigon ignite your sabers. The enemy blocks most of your attacks. You get blocked off from qui-gon. Maul Slays him, your rage fills you, your attack increases. You and maul engage combat, with you cutting him in half and completing the level. You won, but you lost your best teammate so early.
Even Jedi are exposed to the Dark Side. I occasionally feel that pull. At times, I can resist. At other times, I can’t. However, one thing remains: I always try to be patient, and follow the Jedi way.
