When she told the droid "i dont understand you" I felt that. I really felt that... for the past 15 years of my life since ive been a fan of this damn franchise, i FELT that
one of these days someones gonna translate and make a droid dictionary and thoe who waited for so long will go back and find out its al some cheap pun but we still wait.
@Andrew Whiting Yeah i doubt it, if anything they could've used General Grievous's massacre as propaganda for the empire. To further fuel the Jedi's "betrayal" in the eyes of the galaxy. Just as Merrin had thought.
Besides, she didn't seem to even know what the Empire was. When Cal spoke of the Empire searching for the list of children, she asked "What empire?" Can't read the records of an organization you know nothing about.
Greez: "What is this gonna require?" Merrin: "A sacrifice. One of your arms should do nicely" Greez: "What??" Merrin: "...don't be so serious" Why do I get the feeling Cal was the only one who thought that was funny?
Well, I think Cere was too nervous of the upcoming fight to find it funny. Otherwise, I feel like she would've definitely enjoyed the exchange. Greez didn't find it humorous for obvious reasons.
Papounator I doubt that would happen, considering Mandolorians hates the Jedi and I don’t while restoring the Jedi Order with a Mandalorian’s help won’t work out well in the end.
@SwordsmanMercenary I have to disagree, i admit she is attractive but I don't think she is the best out of all of them. These ones are equal to her in looks Ros Lai,Asajj mother,Talia,Asajj Ventress. Most importantly the best out of all of them is Old Daka She is 100000000/10
I think most people in Star Wars have translators to understand what droids are saying. The nightsisters seem to be an exception to that for obvious reasons
I can imagine something where: Cal: Hey, Vos. Got any tips on going out with a Nightsister? Vos: Yes, I do. They like their steaks rare and they have a strong sense of sarcastic humor. Cal: okay...then...
in a way yes, because the Order was stagnant, they taugh the same things to everyone, and if you notice the pattern, the strongest Jedis are the outcasts: Qui-Gon, Yoda(once he went to Dagobah), Obi-Wan(Apprentice of Qui-Gon, so he absorbed some of Qui-Gon's mentality), Infil'a(and Vader defeats him only because Vader destroys a dam and Infil'a gets force-choked while trying to save the city under that dam but before that almost killed Vader by pushing him off a cliff), Ahsoka, Windu(i mean his fighting style is unusual among the Jedis)... i follow an italian youtube channel(bc i'm italian XD) that explains why the Jedi Order was so stagnant, and among other reasons there are reasons like "Refusing to study holocrons about Siths because they were sure that they all died a thousand years ago...so why study something that is not alive any more" same goes for ancient civilizations (Eno Cordova is an exception). They were focusing on the very same concepts and ideas without evolving/developing for centuries...which is why Sidious/Palpatine can manipulate them so easily...
They weren't fallen, just lazy and ignorant. Their numbers were great but their guard was down more than at any time in their history since the OG schism of the order.
@@Diabolic131o yes, in the clone wars count duku was cursed by the nightsisters and sent Greivous to kill the nightsisters in order to lift the curse, the nightsisters then brought the dead to life to fight him but failed this was on an episode of Star Wars the Clone Wars
They left it wide open to do a sequel. i would love it if they did. this was the best star wars game we have gotten in a long time and i really loved the characters. And I was so hoping that Cal and Merrin would get together. they have great chemistry
@@haydenberends3905 thing is this game is set 14bby and rebels is 5bby so they’d be significantly older, still a cool idea tho, maybe in the third or fourth game
I personally like that they take their time for a relationship to develop (if that’s the route they’re taking.) It’s more realistic that way especially for people as polar opposite as a Jedi and a Nightsister. Hope to their relationship grow in the future.
I can't focus on anything when Cere is on the screen. I feel like her eyes are going to pop at any moment. The story for this game is actually entertaining, I haven't quite made it to this part but maybe soon.
I don't care if there is love story or not. But you would be blind not to see all the signs. When she suggests to come with Cal, she specifically asks about other women, seemingly without special reason. Not to mention their stories very alike, and she feels that she can relate and rely on Cal. That sudden hug of happiness. +They are both young people, in their age flowers of love bloom. Also you would figure that girl who is the only survivor of her people, would want a strong companion in her life, Cal is the only one who has proven himself to be that one companion. To me their relationship developing would only feel natural, if they do it right, there is nothing wrong with romance in the story, its what we all crave as humans.
Merrin's critic of the Jedi's forceful way of imposing their way of life is absolutely golden. No one in universe discusses the obvious power imbalance that results from always thinking you are right and should protect everyone Despite their own wishes
It makes sense what she thought about the Jedi. Especially when she tells about the 'armoured warrior'. Grievous used Jedi lightsabers so Merrin thought he was a Jedi.
@@KobaLenk That and the idea that THEY have the mandate to dictate how Force sensitive children should live their lives, because THEY see the greater good. Privilege at its finest
@@arnauddika It's good that Cal destroyed the holocron at the end of the story. A very wise decision, and elevates him as a true Jedi to trust in the force. Very Qui-Gon Jinn of him.
I hope & pray if that's going to happen, the sequel that is, not to mention of what could potentially be a love story between Cal & Merrin if that happens, it's such a great game, I've been playing the game for God only knows how long & how many times I play this game
Christopher Villarreal sameee i lost track and clearly waiting for the sequel which i hope focuses on cal and merrin like ‘sidetrack’ by them and talking more to eachother
10:54 Malicos is absolutely right about the Jedi. It was allowed Palpatine to come to power. The Jedi ceased being Jedi and basically became policemen for the Republic long before the clone wars. As Palpatine told Yoda, "Your arrogance blinds you."
So what should have they done become an indifferent group which didn't participate in the affairs on the galaxy? The Republic with its imperfections was way better for non humans and for the systems that the tightly controlled empire. The fact that the jedi were part of the Republic an didn't try to overcome it and control it during thousands of years shows the strength of jedi thought. 19 BBY doesn't invalidate the thousands of years of jedi tradition. Innovation disregarding tradition is just arrogance hidden as thoughrfulness
Honestly interesting that out of all the characters they could have made for this role they chose a nightsister. Not saying it's bad it's really unique and cool tbh
It makes sense though. The night sisters have a very different perspective on the darkside of the force and the force in general. They can also use it in a different way then the jedi so as a partner character goes in sequals she would be more interesting from both a gameplay and story telling side.
To survive, Star Wars needs to keep going different places and telling us new stories. Cal, Merrin, the Mandalorian and his friends are all examples of doing this right.
Russian women have such amazing accents, they’re voices mostly sound soothing. They’re probably not all like that but the ones I’ve heard always have been. Very well voiced character.
Met a few Russians and honestly the most soothing voice I ever heard was a 70 year old Russian woman's speaking perfect English with the typical Russian accent. Funny thing was her family liked MY accent...which is non-existent as far as most people are concerned. Standard American speaking English, only difference between me and most is the Amish live near me so I say some words slightly differently.
@@CheekiTiki - It took two underwhelming Battlefront games (both of which were just multiplayer-only titles with the thinnest veneer of a "mission" mode) and a cancelled Amy Hennig project to get this. EA was bound to get back into single-player SW at some point.
Disney: "We'll have a 'strong' woman and clumsily force the story to fit her character." Respawn: "We'll have a strong cast of characters and genuinely develop them over the course of the story."
If you want a lesson on how to do strong female protagonist go watch either Shadow Skill or Air Master. Both quite old fighting anime but have a lot of great action.
@@QrowTheGoat Based on the amount of likes he got, i think you are. Rey literally has no backstory, and no reason to explain why she behaves the way she does.
@@QrowTheGoat nah the delusion is on you and every other Rey lover. She has no personality, no reason to give a toss about her at all and no flaws. Because Rey is literally the embodiment of a ultra feminist agenda. Even JJ Abrams admitted it was Kathleen Kennedy's idea to do a "wahmen Luke" ergo she's a non character just Luke with tits to placate closet SJWs like you.
15:18 Merrin: I’ve spent years of waiting for a chance to avenge my sisters. Obi Wan Kenobi: *Hold my BLASTER* So Uncivilised. Obi Wan avenged the massacre of the Nightsisters when he destroyed General Grievous on Utapau.
I love how General Grievous is not directly mentioned in this game and the reason why Merrin is mistaken the Jedi with him is probably because his lightsaber colour that he get due to his lightsaber fetish
This may sound crazy but before the rise of skywalker came out, a theory I had was that Malicos somehow survived the encounter and managed to escape. He layed low for decades with the force allowing him to stay alive but taking a heavy toll on him which leads to him rising again after the fall of the empire as the one and only Supreme Leader Snoke. Just a fun little theory I had before I watched the Rise of Skywalker. I instantly though Malicos was quite an interesting character. Great game.
Thanos reacted to his loss by trying to burn the universe down around him. Cal and Marrin reacted to their loss by trying to find a way to build a new and better future without the whole 'kill half the universe at random' thing
Rare is not raw. Its heated up to the point that its considered cooked just not to the point the blood leaves the meat. I don't understand how someone can eat a steak well done, its like chewing on charcoal at that point.
It’s kinda funny Mark hamil went from playing protagonist in Star Wars to playing the joker And Cameron went from playing the joker to playing a protagonist in Star Wars.
Because Kathleen Kennedy has stayed away from the tv shows and game, they’re actually really good. Unfortunately she has killed the sequel trilogy so after Rise comes out and is more of the same awful dreck, we can take a page out of the last jedi’s Book and “let it die”
‘’ i was alone for a long time. in hiding, i was scared that they’d find out who i was or what i was.’’ that whole speech just talks into him wanting her.
24:20 I just want to say, seeing this in real life would be scary as shit. Whether it be from Cere's perspective or if I'm looking at it from a distance, my heart would be pounding like a chargin rhino
For some reason I just can't get this *how I met your mother* idea out of my head. Kids: Dad, how did you meet Mom? Cal: Well kids it all started when I first saw your mother. I was entering her people's temple in search of a list of force sensitive kids. And there she was empowering two NightBrothers to try and kill me. Kids: What? Cal: But when she raised her undead Sisters to drive me out. I knew then, she was the one for me. Kids: WHAT!!!?!?!?!?!?!!!
@TheOverlord818 but then she just killed my clone and a few years later despite barrely knowing her and never having went on a date or having a relationship i just asked her to marry me because i thought we were gonna drown.
I actually didn’t expect to see a living nightsister in this game, much less one that actually joins forces with a Jedi. And yet, we got one, and a very well-written character at that. I mean, look at this when she turns on them: Taron to Cal: “Run” Even the second-to-last boss (excluding the encounter to Vader) does not want to stick around.
Usernamesdontmatter but the odds are slim if one side is force sensative and the other averse to magic that their kid wouldn’t have something. Their offspring wouldn’t just possibly be force sensative. And for that matter every child so far born in the Star Wars universe from force sensitive parents or parent have been force sensitive themselves. Never been a time where that hasn’t been the case yet
god i miss this game. such a magnificent, breathtaking adventure - what star wars always tried to, and only sometimes achieved. i hope the sequel is twice as long, and has space combat, and more planets, and a big coruscant level, and yes, romance merrin. even in her brief time in the game she was more interesting than any of the options in mass effect.
I like how the first time cal meets merrin he's still quite an inexperienced padawan second time he's gone through alot getting there and now he's frustrated and nearly getting angry then lastly he's gone through his lowest point and came out stronger and speaking to merrin like a true Jedi knight
I think they'd have to do a sequel. Considering this is Canon, and there is no mention of cal in the films, we'd need to know why Luke or obi wan don't mention him
You know what you are right. Putting Merrin aside, even though Cere’s face freaks me out, I still like her character, especially during the ending. I thought Trilla was quite a good villain. And the 9th sister was a lot of fun to ‘kill’.
See finally a whole some comment with these like real talk it's kinda sweet first they were enemies , then crew mates, finally friends after that hug 😀 friendship is the best ship
The both survivors of decimated of the orders and family were to be the Jedi Order or family of nightsisters and survivors grow together and bond has family there will be no relationship between both of them she doesn't like men She's a Lesbian it's made obvious in the game she said she had feelings for a fellow night sister who was killed by General Grievous in the Clone Wars
@@lennymosca9099 She could be bisexual then. It's kinda obvious there's something going for Merrin and Cal what with the whole "survivors stick together" kind of thing. As the last of the Night sisters and Jedi respectively, they have an opportunity to build something new.
I think the fact that his name not being mentioned or his being shown makes anyone who doesn't know find this all much scarier even if they did find out. He was a relentless killing machine in the initial Clone Wars cartoon show.
It makes a good point about how the galaxy at large view the Sith and the Jedi and the likes. To Merrin for example she just knows that an armored warrior with a lightsaber was a bad guy so Cal is a bad guy because he also has a lightsaber while Grievous was quite a literal Jedi killing machine.
@@tayduatrinhcoi So true and it's actually so sad to think that to everyone else in the galaxy they can't differentiate between jedi and sith, they just see the death and the lightsabers and equate the two, I honestly love the depth this game went to with Merrin.
This game was honestly a huge surprise for me, I never expect anything good from EA but man, what an amazing game, enjoyed every second of it, though I admit I sort of raged during some fights because they were difficult.
