Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast - Chapter 8 - Cairn Installation (Cutscenes) 

Yeah, because despite what the haters TRY to spin, George Lucas was intricately involved in all levels of everything that carried the Star Wars name, whether it was books or comics or video games or short stories, not JUST the movies, so that classic George Lucas spirit is ever-present, at least until he began turning away and letting his company do its own thing after Revenge of the Sith in 2005.

It was me and my brother's first "dark" Star Wars game before Republic Commando came along. It had plenty of mood to offer us between the barrens of Kejim and Artus Prime, the depths of Nar Shadda, Bespin, and the Cairn Installation's reactor, the promotional images, AND footage from the Xbox and GameCube exclusive mission to Alzoc III.

Bro this game was amazing even the later ones. The first two were just exactly what you thought being a jedi would feel like. Miss the day games were made like this.

Yeah, he never gave up trying to return Brakiss to the light. And in New Jedi Order, while he had to stop Daeshara'cor from hunting down new superweapons, he didn't single her out for extermination or exile, he returned her to the fold and allowed her to partake in the Battle of Ithor afterwards. Luke's forgiving nature is just something Filoni and Disney do not understand.

Legends Luke is great. He learned from the mistakes of the Jedi Order and realize that emotions and love don't weaken a Jedi and tempt them to the Dark Side, but strengthen them. He's in tune with the light and darkness within himself, he knows that maintaining a balance in himself is the true way.

No, it isn’t. Jedi academy, its successor, was far more realistic. It actually integrated the 7 actual, classic styles of the Jedi order, if you’re using Anakin in movie duels, he’s using his Djem so strikes, if you’re using Dooku, he uses his makashi swordplay. It has way better mechanics than Outcast ever did.

@@dazdavis7896 the mechanics are the same in Academy and Movie Duels, they just added more animations to the combat and that improved it a lot, by giving more variations and possibilities, but is practically untouched in the core.

He was in a supporting role in Young Jedi Knights, the focus was on the next generation of Jedi Knights. Almost as if fans like the idea of well-written new characters and not ciphers or something.

I. Th. Desaan got a boost from the Valley of the Jedi, which made him powerful enough to get away from Luke. The real Luke. Jake Skywalker would’ve just not showed up and then have a heart attack and die.

"Jake Skywalker" is a reference to Luke in The last Jedi, Episode 8. Mark Hamil came up with the name Jake Skywalker as he felt he was not playing the same character.

@Irfan Alddin You're assuming a lot here. First of all,Kyle entered the temple from the underground. Meaning there were probably more attack forces attacking from the normal exit. I would seriously not be surprised if that's where Luke and most of the Jedi were. Also, Kyle and the few other Jedi inside the temple only killed about 30 reborn. Considering that they sent several legions of troops down to the planet, ai would not be surprised if Kyle and the Jedi only took out one legion. Maybe a legion and a half, if you count the ones he killed in the Swamp. But, like Fyyar said, they had thousands of reborn. Granted, some of them exploded on the Doomgiver, but a lot them were still sent down, and they didn't just go poof. And who could've defeated them? Luke, and whereever the rest of the Jedi were.. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jedi inside the temple were padawns, considering Luke would want to hide the most un-trained.

+Michael Wong You also seem to forget that save for that huge Deus Ex Machina where he blew up a Space Station, Luke has always been a failure as a Jedi. He couldn't even mindtrick a Stormtrooper, and he lost every Saber duel he was in until he moved towards the dark side and came after his Dad. Luke's always been a shit character, the Jedi Knight games redeemed him. The Rian version of Luke is literally a carryover of the original Luke.

@@RecklessFire29 Luke was flawed and immature. The originals showed this quite clearly. Rian's version of Luke is literally a far cry from what Luke was by the time of part 6. A wiser and calmer Jedi knight where he only lost to his emotions when his family was being threatened but even despite that, still beat back the dark side and stayed his hand from killing his own father. As we saw recently in BOBF, Luke is being just as dogmatic as the old Jedi, same with Ahsoka (which is weird since she LEFT THE JEDI ORDER), almost as if he's setting up to repeat the mistakes of the old Jedi, like he said in Last Jedi - oh yeah, _he is._ Filoni was NEVER going to give you the Legends version of these characters. NEVER. Never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. Look what he said in 2014. "When I was making Clone Wars, I always knew we were doing the 'canon bomb,' or the 'continuity bomb,' and I'd go into the office and be like: 'wait until you hear what the Mandalorians are like according to George.' And I would know a year or more in advance what that was going to do. But to be honest I still work the same way I did when I worked with George, which is: there's an amazing group of talented artists and writers creating all of this stuff, and I still mine it all the time. Filoni is a fraud masquerading as a lore master, but is in fact just a mainstream chaser, always playing it up before a crowd, telling them what he _thinks_ they want to hear, but silently laughing as he holds them in contempt the entire time. Well, don't forget this game is set not too long after Return of the Jedi, so Luke hasn't had the time to become as ridiculously powerful as he was in the rest of the EU. Plus Desann's been through the Valley of the Jedi which is sort of a Force amplifier effect. It's difficult to accurately relay and compare character power levels when they all use the same mechanics. In the game's code, Desann has a lot more health than Luke simply because Desann's boss battle needs to last longer and Luke's NPC is only used a few times in combat.

He also specifically said that he went through the Valley of the Jedi, which Qu Rhan said had the power to cause supernovas with a thought and life-wipe a star system with a whisper, so the fact Luke fought him as well as he did is impressive. In his early days no less.

@@Randoman590 I mean, I think Jedi Outcast is around 10 years after ROTJ. So Luke would have been a rather strong Jedi at this point and arguably in his prime, the issue is that Desann had reached the Valley of the Jedi which could give unbelievably strong power. Kyle only used a little bit of the Valley's power and it gave him the strength to be a one man army against the Reborn- so imagine how strong Desann became?

I bought it on the Switch since I don't have a PS4. If people bought it and enjoy it on the PS4. I am cool with that. It's a game everyone should enjoy no matter the platform

I like Luke in 2017 SWBF as much as I do in Jedi Outcast, they both feel authentic to the character and gives logical progressions from his experiances and learned life lessons from the OT, as opposed to TLJ.

Luke in Battlefront 2 was awesome. His line to the Imperial about why he helped him was perfect. "Because you asked"

I have mods for this, i have the single player luke model and hilt for this game which made it more fun i always wanted to play as luke when i was a kid. Then i bought this again a few years ago still play it. Ill look for that mod see what i can find
