I think at that point Clovis just accepted that he was already getting his ass whooped, he knew there was no way he could beat Skywalker in a fight, but maybe he could get some hits on him in his mind.
@@galacticquasaur2956 Can't agree at all that he was a like a "teenager" in episode 3 but Clone Wars Anakin obviously IS vastly better in clone wars as a character, as a likable person, and giving more time for his descent..
"Why don't you fight like a man without any of your Jedi tricks!" I think you might have preferred the Jedi tricks Clovis. Then at least you could claim that he cheated in the fight.
Yeah Anakin drew his lightsaber. If Clovis had acknowledge his fault and apologized Anakin might have just punched him a little. If Clovis said nothing, Anakin would have just cut him down. If Clovis make the stupid choice of provoking him, he gets beaten to death. Or at least he would have if he hadn't stopped. I think Anakin stopped because Padmé kept insisting that he stopped and asked him "What are you doing?" After beating so much crap out of Clovis, Anakin had released a lot of his rage. It stumped out, and he was able to regain control of himself.
This is ironically the best scene of the series What i like about this scene is how at the precise moment Anakin enters the room the firsr thing he hears is, "Clovis No", so the implications there are even more implied
This arc tried really, really hard to make me feel that what Anakin did here was wrong, but in reality I cheered him on for beating tf out of a man who was trying to push himself onto Padme.
I think that's the point. This series was so well written. We see Anakin fall to the Dark Side through dozens of little incidents that individually seem quite understandable. It also demonstrates why the Jedi believe that attachment can lead to the Dark Side. Anakin fell because he was too human, and the Jedi code was too strict; a lesson that was revisited in the sequel trilogy and the reason Luke felt the Jedi order needed to end.
He was pretty good at fighting look at how he pulled off all those moves he could give the clone commanders a good run in a 1v1 fist fight. U can’t simply fight a Jedi in a fist fight especially someone with a metal arm.
Literally why did dandy banker Clovis ever think he could win against 6'2, Anakin "my occupation is war, my arm is metal, and my mind is unstable" Skywalker?
+TheNuisanceBird Thank you, NuisanceBird, for living up to your username by nitpicking the fact I rounded up half an inch in a comment meant for humorous impact. And on another note, Wookieepedia has Anakin listed at 1.88m, which translates into customary as just about 6'2 even.
Props to Clovis: he took over a dozen hits from a metal hand connected to a 6'2" behemoth of a war veteran and stayed conscious. That's honestly impressive.
Its pretty unrealistic tbh, no grown man can take head hits from a metal hand like that from a large, trained, angry user with a degree of force-enhancen punches
Are we just going to ignore Rush's questionable logic here when trying to kiss Padme? "Oh, you and Anakin aren't together, then logically we can have sex" "But I don't want to hav-" "IRRELEVANT"
@@vodyanoy2 i think he did that for his own sake though, if he told the truth it would be "i a sleazy politician tried to assault the senator and war hero skywalker stopped me" does not look good for him
@@vodyanoy2 lets say anakin did kill him and padme threw him under the bus, who are the troopers going to listen to? the war hero jedi and their boss, or some other person?
Clovis: Why don't you try fighting like a man without your Jedi tricks? Anakin: Oh, it would be my pleasure... Me: Good good Anakin. Kill him. Kill him now.
You know it is kinda embarrassing of his defeat. Anakin is 23, I think this us the last year of the war, and Clovis is I am assuming 28 or 29. He got his butt handed to him by the Hero with no Fear who is six years younger than him.
Luke: Hey, I’ve had like two weeks of lightsaber training, could we…I don’t know…use fighters instead? Vader: Ok. Luke: Wait, what? Vader: My ship’s out back. Three laps around the Death Star, standard Tatooine rules? Luke:…Yeah, sure, sounds like a plan.
Agreed. When I was younger I thought Anakin was going too far, but now I'm older I see "Clovis, NO!" (and Anakin seeing her clearly say that), and now I fully support Anakin bearing the shit out of Clovis.
Since he also chooses to pick a fight with an experienced general who has no problems with killing it's clear that he is a bit lacking in the common sense department
In Anakin's defense I'm pretty sure this is how most people would react to seeing someone forcefully kissing their wife. Props to Clovis for taking that L like a man and not snitching.
There is another scene in another episode where Anakin's metal arm and a B1 battle droid's punch connected, and the later's arm shattered. It seems like Anakin's arm is made tougher than a B1 battle droid's.
+Hail Hydra Lol yea! And then when he notices a few unpopped kernels, Palpatine just uses Force lightning to pop them and continues watching the fight saying "STRIKE HIM DOWN!!! USE YOUR ANGER!!!" XD
In her defense it was probably pretty scary to watch her husband who is probably suffering from PTSD at this point completely lose himself to his temper and seemed unable to regain control of himself. In the next episode Padme did apologize for over reacting.
@@shinybird5204 yeah, you can also see him shaking once he realizes what he's doing. He actually looked dazed and disoriented when the guards showed up.
I hate that this was framed as a jealousy outrage when anakin litterally walked in on a guy trying to force a kiss on his wife, like yeah he went overboard but can you blame him?
I know! I hate how the fans and even the show just made it seem like jealousy. Anakin heard Padme saying no, and he saw Clovis not listening and forcing his way on her. He had every right to beat the crap outta him! I get he went a little far (not complaining though) and it was probably scary for Padme to watch that, but it's not like he lost his shit because he wanted to be the one kissing her.
It certainly was a jealousy-fuelled outrage. It was VERY scummy of course but doesn't change why Anakin did this. A reasonable person would give one or two punches at most. Anakin was trying to kill him.
The real question is why did Clovis think engaging the superpowered, battle hardened "lead from the front" General with a metal arm and a decades worth of combat training would be a good idea.
When you have a beautiful woman in your arms, you will want to do anything. Even if said woman is already married to the very angry Jedi stomping towards you.
Not really as military personnel also have hand to hand combat skills sometimes and in this galaxy every Jedi,Sith,Clone and sometimes Droid have hand to hand combat skill to some level
"Why don't you try fighting like a man without your Jedi tricks?" Rush Clovis - Man whose never seen a day of battle, is a politician and banker. Never even been in a fight. Grew up with his banker father and then the Muun who raised him in banking and politics. Privileged lifestyle most likely. A prep. Anakin - Man who is a Jedi who has fought countless battles across the Galaxy as a soldier for the Republic. Been in multiple fights. Grew up with his mother on a harsh desert planet as a slave. Was raised to survive as best he could and probably got into fights when he was younger. Likely trained in some form of hand to hand combat by the Jedi. Again, has been through countless battles across the Galaxy and is a Jedi Knight and is literally called "The Hero With No Fear" Okay Clovis. Why did you think you had a chance against this dude again?
That’s this scene represents his dark side, light side would involve beating Clovis into a sad pile of tears. His darkness nearly resulted in him killing Clovis and that’s what I think upset Padma
I love how when Clovis dares Anakin to fight him without using his Jedi abilities, Anakin opens with a blow from his robot hand. Probably unintentional, but I still find it funny.
@@kaiserreichempireofohio834 Not necessarily for a trained fighter though. I'm right handed. Unless I'm sucker punching someone, I wouldn't open with it.
@@TheStraightestWhitest To be fair to Anakin, this probably did feel pretty personal. Immediately went for the sucker punch in a fit of adrenaline and anger, fair enough.
This is the most powerful display of Anakin Skywalker touching the dark side throughout the entire Clone Wars series. The fight ended with Anakin in absolute rage.
Man even without a lightsaber and the force, I would not wanna fight Anakin. He's built like a fucking tank and has a metal hand. It's like automatic brass knuckles
Even without his force-wielding powers, Anakin was a towering giant with years of fight experience and a robotic hand. He beats people to a pulp for a living. This guy asked for it.
Let's see...Jaw dislocated, a few broken ribs, possibly severe trauma all over his back and his neck, hard blows to the head, fingers crushed, dislocated shoulderblades and probably a few crushed articulations as well as glass all over his abdomen. Clovis is lucky to be alive at all.
+Isakaldaz Wulfazizsunus could be more, could be none(and ppl are more resistant than you think(but i get it he wouldn't have been able 2 be so non-shalant after the fight))
No lie, Anakin is the most badass character in all of cinema, you root for him when he's a Jedi and then you root for him when he's Vader. God, he is such a great character!!
Some_Random_Car well he saw it as a prophetic dream since his mother died after he had that same dream, but he just didn’t have the right guidance and he already had a lot of issues
Anakin: *lives almost every day as a highly praised general on the battlefield trained in most forms of combat by the Jedi Order, has a dense metal hand, and is extremely aggressive despite his good heart* Clovis: *lives a life talking with fellow politicians, won a fight in school once* Now tell me, prior to this fight who did you think was going to win?
because who would the troopers believe? war hero anakin skywalker or scummy politician clovis? if he tried throwing anakin under the bus then rush is fucked
@@historytank5673 he's a renowned General in the Republic Army, pretty much the leader of the 501st which has completed multiple impossible missions, and a Jedi Clovis would have to be brain dead to not know this, and this isn't even a quarter of Anakin's achievements since so many more wouldn't be common knowledge
''The Clone Wars is a little kids show'' Anakin walks in on a man sexually assaulting his wife and proceeds to beat him near death with his bare hands. EDIT: YES, I FINALLY GOT A HIGHLY LIKED COMMENT THANKS NERFHERDERS!
"then there is absolutely nothing to stop us from doing this" How about the fact that she doesn't friggin want to do it, dude? Did you ever think about that? Clovis's logic is so mumbo-jumbo he deserved that beating from Vader.
Do you say? Padme never ever put effort resisting him, never. Everytime Clovis made a serious step forward, Padme never made a step back. Padme is clearly playing the "Make me impossible to say no" card My last relationship started just like that. Without a secret husband showing at the last moment, obviously
Do remember that they were dating before Attack of the Clones. Padme broke up with him because she thought it was getting in the way of both of their jobs. So it's not like this came from nowhere, Padme found someone else but Clovis never changed his feelings.
Obi-Wan: Clovis was hospitalized with 4 broken ribs, a damaged trachea, a broken hand, and multiple hairline fractures. What the Hell happened Anakin? Anakin: He pressed the Padme Button. He shouldn't have pressed the Padme button...
"Ah yes, let me taunt this dude who was trained as a kid how to fight space wizards, and is able to block bolts of plasma with a sword, not to mention his robot hand. Yes this will do." Edit: Hands down to Clovis for not outing Anakin, and taking that loss like a man. Dude could've literally ended Anakins whole career.
In the rest of the episode she was seduce him, or, that is what appear. But, she just, have use him to obtain important information about the separatist
Who would win? A deadly soldier and experienced Jedi knight of virtually unmatched power, blinded by rage and punching with a metal arm OR One talky boi
@@samisikdar5417 Anakin had the highest midichlorian count of any Jedi, unnatural strength as he was one of the most popular war generals of the galaxy, he was definitely unmatched if he had reached his full potential.
@@darthmortem585 k so you made 3 points: 1. Midichlorian count: we don’t have a direct explanation on what more midichlorians actually means, so it’s technically open to interpretation. While many view high midichlorians as more power, I view it more like IQ. For example if there were two people, one with an IQ of 100 and the other with an IQ of 300 and you gave them both a course of work to complete which gradually got more complex. The person with 300 IQ would complete it much quicker because their brain can understand more difficult, complex topics easier however the 100 IQ person would get there eventually as well however with more struggle and difficulty in learning. Midichlorians are similar situation to this. In my opinion, raw force potential is based solely on your mindset and willingness to learn more and some other factors. And yes, midichlorian count is one of these factors it’s only a small part of that. Take Obi Wan for example, his midichlorian count was low, yet he was still more powerful than practically everyone in the order (apart from Yoda Mace Windu and Anakin). How did he do this? Through his vast experience, learning curves and mindset and techniques. He was able to beat Anakin on Mustafar even when Anakin was more powerful. He did this through his technique, playing with Anakin’s mind and causing him to make his arrogance backfire on him. As a padawan, he beat Maul, a fierce Sith Warrior simply through seeing that Maul had eased his defences. It’s about the creativity in his technique, waiting for them to even slightly slip up and use that to his advantage. That has nothing to do with his midichlorian count, simply his intelligence. Anakin lacked this, he didn’t have the right mindset and sure he could have got there but still wouldn’t match Obi Wan in intelligence. It’s like boxing, muscle matters but it’s no use when you’re opponent is more tactical. And this is just regarding force abilities, lightsaber combat is another factor completely though their reflexes are aided by the force and in that I’d say Anakin already reached his full potential. The IQ comparison in my opinion is why Anakin was able to become so powerful so quickly, but at maximum training I reckon he’d be slightly above Yoda and Palpatine in force though they could still beat him through their technique. Of course this is just my take on midichlorians, yours could be different which is obviously ok as well 2. When you say unnatural strength, I’m assuming you mean physical strength. And yeah, I agree but most Jedi are trained in martial arts but Anakin is definitely one of the strongest in that aspect 3. Popularity doesn’t equal power
Yeah, it was pretty nice of him to realize he was forcing himself on a woman, and Anakin clearly saw Padme say "Clovis, NO!" as he forced himself upon her. There was a point in the fight where Padme was ok with Anakin stepping in, but she wasn't ok with his blind rage and possessive streak kicking in.
I mean, it's not like it would have made the situation worse for Anakin tbh. If Clovis accused Anakin of assaulting him Anakin could simply rebuttal with: "Actually, I heard senator Clovis attempting to force himself upon senator Amidala against her will. When I entered the room to intervene, senator Clovis would not back down so I was forced to engage in non lethal hand to hand combat in order to restrain him." Who are the guards more likely to believe? The literal war hero (who was actually telling the truth), or the well known former Separatist spy? All Clovis really did was save his own ass by de-escalating the situation.
The truth is better? “Master Skywalker here, the renowned, famous war hero walked in on my attempting to force myself on an unwilling government official and kicked my ass after I challenged him to it.” He just saved his own ass
@@tumbleweed1551 It's actually very unclear if Anakin heard Padme say "Clovis, No!" and even when they talk about it after the fight, Anakin just says he saw them together not that he saw Clovis forcing himself on her. There was no point in the fight in which Padme was okay with them fighting and immediately tells Anakin to stop. Anakin even says that she "doesn't have a say in this", implying the fight is all about him and his jealousy towards Clovis, not Clovis forcing himself on her.
Maul would kick the shit out of him. He endured many more years of grueling physical training at the hands of sidious and was a master in martial arts. Anakin would be dead
+AkshaySundaram 111 (Akshay Sundaram) Anakin has more of the force to draw from, enough power to possibly hold his own against top tier characters if angry enough
+jamaine gardner Anakin would have a great rage boost, however. Luke, with a much, much smaller rage boost was able to defeat Vader, who had much more training than Luke. Maul's face would have been broken.
Asa Ali Maul would be abused to the point he is crying for death It would be like child abuse Anakin angry broke Dooku force wall just imagine what he would do to maul
Rightfully so? Anakin and Padme aren't supposed to be together by jedi rules so their relationship isn't exactly publicly official. Rush kiiiinda didn't deserved to be force choked and beaten the shit out of by someone with years of military experience.
What? He is flirting with a single girls who seems to like him and then a crazy jedi comes and beats him with his Jedi powers near to death, how is that "just" or "deserved"? There is nothing rightfully here, Anakin pretty much abused of his powers.
pretty sure this scene was meant to show that anakin has too much passion, which gives more context to his downfall. clovis was also at fault though, that's sexual assault yo lol so I guess if clovis did tell on anakin, he could say that padme was being assaulted.
xCoatlicuex you dont need to be a jedi to be a man ready to defend wjat may not be publicly your wife but is still technicaly your wife and watch the begining of the video clovis was gonna rape padme and if anakin was not there to save her she probably would have
2:11 Okay, You have to admit that Clovis was a king here covering up for Anakin. Granted he’s a piece of shit, but like kudos for covering up for Anakin.
He handled the situation perfectly until 1:45 At that point Clovis was essentially beaten, and had he not stood up to continue fighting Anakin should've left it there.
