Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Combat Stances Explained

I'm so excited to see what the Blaster x Lightsaber combat looks like. The fact that their keeping it secret makes me think we're in for some fun gameplay come April!

Please note that the combat exhibition seen in the chamber in the video is explicitly a test environment created for the purpose of showing off the combat stances, and is not something that a player can load up in the game proper.

They gave Cal the Kylo Ren crossguard, but not the Ezra Bridger blaster attachment. He was THIS close to the ultimate Swiss army knife of lightsabers

I’m not a big fan of only being able to equip 2 styles. Would much prefer a wheel with all 5 to switch on the fly. That would make Cal feel like a real saber master with all those different styles in a single fight.

Single blade: used for medium attacks and normal attacks Double bladed: Used for large groups of enemies and overwhelming combos Dual blades: used for quick reactions Cross guard: A heavy more slower than the other 4 But can still efflict massive strikes And The Blaster: Long ranged attacks while being a run and gun with a lightsaber

Seems human dismemberment is in this game. At 4:12 the scout trooper loses his leg.

These stances will make a fine addition to my collection!

Reminds me of GoW Ragnarok in a great way, nothing huge or major changed, but improvements that refine the gameplay

Having only two stances at a time seems a like a bit of an odd decision as people will end up just picking 2 and sticking with them and ignoring the rest.

Crossguard stance sounds like its gonna be Jedi Survivor's version of the Heavy stance from the Jedi Knight games.

It’s cool that you have only get 2 at a time since you then have to plan ahead, but that will most definitely lead to a few not being used at all

I'm pretty sure Cal's gun will work similar to Max's gun in the Mad Max game

The only able to equip 2 stances at a time thing is not only a weird design choice that seems to limit your options for no reason, but also makes no sense considering how Cal's lightsaber works. Cal should by default have at least the 3 basic stances (single, double and dual bladed) since Cal's saber can be detached into two pieces. For the blaster stance it's kinda weird if Cal has a blaster hanging from his hip but he isn't able to use it if it isn't equipped. Like did Cal just forget how to use his hands or what? The crossguard is the only stance that seems like it would make sense to have to be equipped separately since it seems like it reconfigures Cal's saber in a relatively major way. The problem can't possibly be about button mapping either since it's such an easy fix. It seems like it uses the d-pad to switch between them, with left and right d-pad switches between the two stances. So why can't they map 2 stances to both left and right d-pad? Say you have dual blades equipped on the left d-pad and you press it again and switches the double bladed (even have a quick animation of Cal attaching the blades). If you want to switch to single blade, press right d-pad, blade stance, same right d-pad again.

So hyped for the game The dual saber combat stance is going to be great to play with

Jedi Academy already had that. Three different sabers (single, dual, twohanded) all with 3 different stances (light, medium, heavy).

Well, at least we know that Purge Troopers are in the game, but what about Inquisitors!? Oh wait, Suvivor takes place in the same year at the events of The Obi-Wan Kenobi series when Vader and the Inquisitors are hunting Obi-Wan!!!

Star wars games are so well made, you can see and feel the efforts put in them starting from the menus and down to the minute details 🔥❤

The stance system should mirror ghost of Tsushima’s where each stance was mapped to a shaped button on the controller. Two stances simply isnt enough as the more stances you have at one time the more enemy types you can throw at the player.

My favorite thing about the old Jedi games was mowing down stormtroopers with blasters, and switching to a saber when bigger threats show up. This will certainly scratch an itch

I’d go with saber and blaster when on the planet with droids and keep it ready for imperials too, but with a single saber stance too for bosses and typical enemies

KOTOR (1 & 2 IIRC) allowed you to focus on using blasters and gave you Force abilities and skills that would let your shots not be blocked by lightsabers. Old Republic does too.

Stance problem fix ; single tap left d pad for single , double tap for double blade , hold for dual blade . Right d pad: tap for cross gaurd , double tap for blaster .

Stances, weapons that go against the code,.. sounds like Ghost of Tsushima.

The sound of blaster stance reminds me of Wild Dancer in Like a Dragon: Isshin where you use sword and gun at the same time.

Ghost of Tsushima let’s you use 4 different fighting stances, there could’ve been a wheel select system like in that game

time to play Jedi Outcast /( Jedi Academy again. We had stances, dual, Twin sabers and all the guns and forcepowers. that game needs a remake.

Looks nice but wish they would include the lightsaber forms instead.. unique move sets for each form with their own strengths and weaknesses.

im 100% sure dual blades will be my go to stance. With my quick aggressive playstyle this stance will fit me the best.

Blaster/Saber style is just gonna be a constant Persona 5 “Last Surprise” meme and I’m all for it

No news on Bloodborne remake or BB2, but we get a BB stance in a Star Wars game 👌🏻

Crossguard stance look really cool like a bunch of heavy attacks

Would be cool if you had to pick a play style to pump points into, so each playthrough you could be awesome at one or two stances only, and spreading your points too thin would hurt your development. Like diablo 2. Gotta be selective.

They really cleaned up the animation for the double bladed saber, looks great, especially compared to last game

Hey guys, is there a possibility of adding dismemberment but like make that feature unlockable by something that only adult could do, my question if there would be the option like that is the game still keep it's Teen ESRB Rating?

I’m excited but limiting us to two stances only & having to switch those up at meditation points is kind of a bummer.

blaster form? he'd probably shoot you close range as you lock weapons with him or shoot while dashing towards you or shoot as he dodge or summersault backwards then shoot you midair.. I'd say give him some grenades and smoke bombs as well. then let him do telekinesis on it to messed up people then you trap them inside your time field thing and watch as they explode slowly into pieces.

My favourite to use in this game is straight blaster mode & jar'kai Hands down 🔥. I like to keep my enemies at a distance with precise close strikes but if all fails then dual wielding lightsabers works for me.

4:12 Finally! Im so happy you can chop up stormtroopers now, the fact we could not in the first game broke my immersion so much, but we could cut various animals and robots in pieces...so many swsimps defended that bad design choice too, it's a lightsaber thats supossed to cut everything not a baseball bat.

Part of the reason a lot of people like the Xbox Obi-Wan game. Was because Obi-Wan could also use a sniper rifle. And in The Phantom Menace Game you can pick up any weapon. Obi-Wan moving through the Naboo Gardens with a repeater blaster is almost therapeutic.

At least this time around it would seem we won't have to wait around for a dismemberment mod for those who will be playing on PC. Though I'm definitely excited for those who will take it a step further.

Only having 2 stances at a time is a bit disappointing, ive just re played ghost of tsushima 4 main stances the ghost stance, 3 specal attacks, 4 types of raged weapons all with at least 2 diffrent ammo types and the ghost weapons, all accessible at the same time, even jedi academy had 3 at a time and that game is a million years old, would have been nice to have the option to use the blaster as you like, its a starwars game people are gonna want to use the light saber, but still cant wait to play
