You say you’ve missed seeing Rex, I say I've missed seeing you seeing Rex. Your reactions to Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor throughout the reaction were some of the sweetest things, Jess.
This was the Rebels reaction that I was looking forward to the most. I'm so glad that you didn't get spoiled. You remember how emotional the Clone Wars finale was right? When I finished watching that episode I was emotionally numb. After staring blankly at the TV for a few minutes, I came immediately to this episode and the reunion scene between Rex and Ahsoka. It wasn't so much that I needed a hug after watching the Clone Wars finale, I needed THAT hug. Also, The Inquisitor that you met at the end of the episode is one that you previously met in Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is The Inquisitor that you first met on Tatooine working with the Grand Inquisitor and Reva.
"Wolfe, Gregor and I, we all removed our inhibitor chips. We all had a choice.." "After the war.. I questioned the point of the whole thing.. all those men died.. and for what?" "Battles leaves scars. Some you can't see.." "I've been in countless battles and lost many brothers.. they were my family... my home.." Man the chills
@@shugaroony The scars that can't be seen tend to be the slowest to heal. I don't think Kanan would have trusted Rex without Ahsoka's "Trust him." advice and without Ezra's presence in front.
@@stevenmcmullan409 Well considering Rex says that all three of them never turned on their generals, I’ve always assumed Wolffe just wasn’t on that mission and Plo got shot down by another clone. The one who responds to Sidious has both eyes anyway so it couldn’t have been him.
@@stevenmcmullan409also Wolffe was never a pilot so he defenitly wasn't involved in killing Plo Koon, he probably was on the planet but defenitly wasn't the one who killed Plo
@@lucasdolding6924 But it's worth considering the fact that Rex had his chip removed when Order 66 was already given, so Wolffe and Gregor probably also recieved the Order, but wasn't around the Jedi to execute it personally, like Cody or Rex did. So probabbly Rex saved Wolffe and Gregor some time after their own stuff and Padme's funeral.
I remember watching the live reaction to the Rebels Season 2 trailer premiere at Star Wars Celebration. The crowd erupting when Rex first spoke/appeared was amazing and 100% justified
It hurts even more when you remember this is the first time *in about a decade* that Ashoka has had *anyone* she can genuinely trust and be friendly with. And it’s Rex, the old soldier who fought with her.
Wolffe served in general Plo's battalion and was his captain. He called his squad "The wolf pack" If you remember, you saw him in some Clone wars episodes
"Dandelion of Joy" - yes, love it. 😄I was so excited for this reaction & it was wonderful! I'm glad that you can still understand where Kanan is coming from even tho you're so protective of Rex. I think you'll really like what they do going forward with those 2. And your understanding for Wolffe, too!! He messed up but he's been through some traumatic shit, too, I mean all of the clones really same as our crew. So I appreciated your comments on all of that! Plus, Wolffe is one of my favorites. Excited for more Rebels reactions, there's so much I can't wait for you to see!
I was waiting for this episode because I knew how happy you would be to see Rex again :) Even though he really got old. This code in his DNA that makes clones age faster doesn't stop when they're grown up.
Fun fact #1: Wolffe was Plo Koon's clone commander in TCW. #2: The Padmé pin-up behind Wolffe when he talks with Kallus at 10:40 was originally supposed to be on the side of the Havoc Maraduer, the ship of the Bad Batch. The Star Wars celebration of 2015 released the Siege of Lothal episode in two parts. After that they released a Sizzle reel showing key moments of the season. There were several weeks in between that celebration had the Airing of this episode. Now at the time Disney plus was not on a thing, it's it's I can best Clone Wars as it had aired I had to track down the DVDs in order for me to completely catch up with the story at that point. Because with this big the first clue that Dave was looking at tying more strongly to clone wars I figured I needed to watch all of Clone Wars.
Also this was the first confirmation that Wolfe, Gregor and Rex survived the war. As well as the first tease of the seeds of Mandalore which was a bit more specifically described in the Ahsoka novel. It will add that because I had very recently finished watching Clone Wars when this episode aired Rex's number of 7567 was fresh in my mind
Of all your reactions, this is one of the ones I've been looking forward to the most - as I'm sure were many who knew this was coming and loved it just as much as you did! Seeing how emotionally invested you were in the characters was amazing, and one of the most heartfelt tributes to the fantastic storytelling of the show. Thank you for sharing it.
when those 3 veterans charged in their old tank against overwhelming numbers thats when I got emotional, thinking our ghost squad would just abandon them
This was an episode I have been waiting on ever since you said you were going to react to Rebels. I have kept my mouth shut, but I am sooooo happy you finally got here and it was worth every moment. Yay!
The worst thing that came out of the Clone Wars, was the fact that the clones got the short end of the stick all the way around. Fought like family during the war, then forced to execute them, just to be discarded and replaced.
@@jamesbellefeuille2926ol I mean the last time he saw clone troopers they kinda gunned down his master right in front of his eyes so it’s understandable
I love all the Clone Wars and Rebels , but Rex was always my favourite character . I always get very emotional on Rex and Ashoka reunion evan now when i saw it for 100th time . Im so happy thay cannonised him , it was said that Rex is rebel on Endor old grey bearder warrior when Han stormed basr to blow up planet shield . I couldnt be more happier for this .
I’ll admit, when the Clone Wars first came out I was skeptical about how it would tie in to the Star Wars story. But I fell in love with the characters like Rex and Ahsoka
I can't wait for you to finish this series and then react to the Ahsoka trailer before starting that show. I can already hear the "Jess screams" and probably crying that you are going to do during the short minute and a half of the trailer!!! 😂
What Rex says is a little off and vague because season 7 of the clone wars didn't exist when this came out. He said that Wolf, Gregor, and him all removed their control chips. But Rex's circumstances were different than the way he described.
I just realised having seen Ahsoka Ep 5 and what one particular character says to Ahsoka, is also said here. (well, close enough). Trying to be as vague as possible for the sake of spoilers 😃, but also, IYKYK.
This continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip on power from world to world.
Yeah, Kanan is still a young man. That would mean he was still literally a child when Order 66 happened and he had to watch his master die before managing to escape. It makes sense that, for all that he's a good man and is usually reasonable and doesn't let his emotions rule him, this time his emotions would cloud his judgement regarding clones despite Ahsoka's request for him to trust them.
Ahsoka sends the Rebel crew to find and recruit a war hero to their cause, but when they discover it is Captain Rex, trust issues put the mission at risk.
@sesskasays you wouldn't be the first reactor ti think they brought Rex back just to kill him off in the second part of this mini-arc. So much anxiety when they're flying off.
Something that made this season "special" for a lot of us, is it aired BEFORE the final season of CW. In fact, we didn't even know we were getting that final season! So in the last ep of S1 of Rebels, we didn't even know if Ahsoka survived order 66 until she came down that ladder... and the same for Rex and Co. One of the things that always bothered me in the Clone Wars was the use of child -- and slave -- soldiers on the part of the Republic. It's bad enough the Jedi throwing Padawans into the front lines -- IMHO Barriss Offee was right! -- but the clones are both slaves and children. They may have been biologically accellerated to adulthood and "programmed", they are in many ways emotional children. And make no mistake they are also slaves and as they get older -- especially after the war -- began to recognize that. In general though the Filoniverse does an amazing job humanizing the clones. We see it from the first episode where Yoda has a sit down telling them to remove their helmets. He treats them as individuals, and we start to see it. By the time we get down to meeting Heavy, Fives, and Echo -- the loss of a clone has much more "emotional weight". It's also why I love the flashback episode where we're introduced to 99 during domino squad's training. Uhg... Heavy's sacrifice still hits hard. As does what happens to Fives. But remember, it's animated so it has to be a kids show. BARF!
How are you doing? How did the surgery go? I have the same thing going on with me. I didn't know what it was until you said something and described it. I hope you are doing well.
Sess: you made me cry I dont aprecciatte it! Me: Ok, no spoils, hold that thought and this number 413 Sees: And I have claws bitch! Both: Fingersnap Hi5 Yes BAITCH!!
So, there is an inconsistency with this episode: Rex says he got his inhibitor chip removed before Order 66 yet in the Clone Wars he turned on Ashoka during Order 66 because he still had his inhibitor chip then she helped him remove it.
Because this was written before Season 7 was finished, as the original idea was that Rex would fake being influenced by Order 66 to save Ahsoka, as he already had the chip removed beforehand.
Minor Retcons really, because Rebels came out a long time before the last season of Clone Wars and I guess it made for a better show to have him fighting the chip at first
You could say Ahsoka wasn't his Jedi though, Anakin was. Especially since Ahsoka had left the order by the time Order 66 was executed. Semantics I know, but the line still works.
24:00 I found this hilarious that you really think a show with a whole cast of new unknown characters - Two of which are Jedi - are all gonna make it out alive when Vader is a character that appears in the show, in the second season of four at that. Oh Jess I can't wait XD I SHALL NOT SPOIL ANYTHING, you'll just have to finish the show Maybe they all make it out alive, maybe it's only Zeb... we'll have to see. (for legal reasons, it is joke)
Sesskasays. Question. How much are you eager to reacting a long term anime like "One Piece"? It's just to me, your channel seems little ignorant to towards one of the world's best selling stories. One Piece has the 3rd -2nd best total reading material selling in the world alongside DC's Barman and Superman. It's world building, story, and fights are some of the best that fiction has to offer. It's the perfect anime/show for fans of History, Geography, Religious Views, Mythology, and Mystery. It's true that the story is known to have had pacing. For example, the anime in the Japanese version currently has 1,063 episodes and is still ongoing. But that includes filler (Anime Exclusive Episodes and Arcs.) that you can skip them. It will that some time, but it's definitely worth it. Take it from me, this is a show you will regret not reacting to. Short Summary of "One Piece": Monkey D. Luffy-a young man made of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit-who sets off on a journey from the East Blue Sea to find the deceased King of the Pirates Gol D. Roger's ultimate treasure known as the "One Piece", and takeover his prior title. Please take this anime/show into consideration. Thank you.
